I'm a pretty avid synth fan myself, I went down to a music store and bought this beauty the other day

I'm still working out the best way to make use of the MIDI Interface, but apart from that it's pretty much perfect, the scope of sounds it can make are pretty varied. Fuck that guy who laughed at me when I bought it.
Circuit bend the shit outa that thing!!

I wish. It looks extremely shitty, but who cares, it sounds awesome isntead.
that's one sound I've never achieved. The synth line starting at 00:40, that is.
it sounds like some annoying synth being sidechained by stuff
experiment with that
I love Massive.

Personally I like how that looks
I don't know too much about synth modules. Anybody know of any new good ones? My "expertise" only goes as far as software and keyboard synths.
Just downloaded Ace 1.0, I have no idea how to use modular synths, but the presets sound badass. I guess it'll be pretty fun.

FM Synthesis <3
Really love the FM8 softsynth
I don't have too much experience with FM or Wavetable synths. I love classic analog too much to start experimenting with other things. I'll use them now and again and blend them with some analog sounds, but mostly I just go analog.
I'll stick to a Microkorg and Yamaha drum machine thanks.
I've spent endless hours just sitting there and remixing songs with friends.
Remixing is fun to a point, but creating your own sounds makes it ten times better.

bought this two weeks ago :smug:

But I'm still missing a real piano. 3 octaves isn't much when you want to play a whole song, without tracking, or recording several times.

Lucky bastard. I bet you can create some amazing sounds with it despite its limited key range.

i have a fucking grand piano in my front room
:smug:
what i like about the gaia is the fact that the filter can self-oscillate
nothing is deeper than setting the emphasis to 100, setting the cutoff to just the right pitch, and letting the keyboard track the filter
it could blow out your speaker but unfortunately the gaia is digital so it won't really ever sound that deep
I already made a thread on this, I would like to update it, but that account was banned.

Never really use the buttons, but if I do I'm like HOLY FUCKING SHIT THATS USEFUL
Love this thing by the way...
I haven't got a real synthesizer :frown:
Curious as to what soft synths do you guys use?
I've tried a bunch lately, including some rather well known and expensive ones and out of all of them I like the one below the most. I stumbled upon a very old and obscure soft-synth that I read about from a band interview earlier.
It's called "Ninja" and it's punchy as fuck.

seriously someone try this thing out.
There are so many choices for this sort of thing, I don't even know where to start
any suggestions for someone who hasn't done this ever

All in-house Reason instruments for me as far as soft synths go.
I love sawer. One of the few really good fl studio vsts.
It's pretty limited, But it just sounds awesome.
Why does my synth's sound change slightly every time I punch a key? I set it on re-trigger I thought that would have solved the problem? Anyone know why its doing that?

Can you guys recommend any entry-level synthesizers?
Or are MIDI controllers recommendable, too?
Can you guys recommend any entry-level synthesizers?
Hardware, not software.
well it depends on what you are looking for really

Possibly an LFO? I never used that synth so I'm not familiar with its mapping.
Additive Synthesis is good for replicating real instruments, combining sine waves at different harmonics and volumes can create any sound.

also
Make your own synthesizer, this is the program that was most likely used to program and design all off your vst Synths
