[editline]04:05PM[/editline] Utilizing an open bolt mechanism isn't very hard, and that way, you could make a semi-automatic handgun/rifle if you wanted too (though feed ramps are a pain).

Also, making a handgun from makeshift parts is not as difficult as it seems. Its common in prison for inmates to make them out of parts from toilets and plastic wear from the cafeteria.
