The boy turning in to a monkey is what got me...
Well, devolving into a monkey as [sp] punishment for attempting to cheat[/sp] IS vaugly more family friendly than other possibilities. Yes, 20 or so years later the fact that a kid starts to turn into a monkey is common knowledge. WHY is a spoiler.
I feel like this could have gotten away with not being a Jumanji movie. Why not just make a film about some kids who get sucked into a game and given their own avatars? This has fuck all to do with Jumanji, in fact it seems forced as hell.
Looks like the fun sort of terrible I would watch on netflix

It's purely name recognition.
I made an oath to see every jack black movie so see u guys in the jungle i guess
For comparison:
That fucking Stargate music.
The original film was so damn good with all that mystic atmosphere, touching moments and brilliant actors(and good humor too by the way). And now you get this shit. I know it's nothing new, as many of the good old movies have got stupid unnecessary reboots, but still. It's like an evolution of your favorite band, when all of the original members have already left it and the new ones play some stupid disco hardcore opera jazz trash instead of the music you used to love. Makes you feel sad and disgruntled at the same time.
the monkeys in the kitchen fucking terrified me
Oddly they were far scarier than the Lion or the Spiders to me, mostly because of their face animations.
its so obviously trying to appeal to ~gamers~
its so obviously trying to appeal to ~gamers~
I'm willing to bet there's a hamfisted "don't judge a book by its cover" or "be who you want to be" kind of message.
If you die in the endless trash you die for real

Why is Karen Gillan so quiet? She is snarky comments: the actress
The young blonde girl is actually my friend's cousin. Apparently she isn't making much from this since the movie mainly takes place with the big actors/actress. She was also like a side character in Modern Family my friend says. Thought it was interesting since you think being an actor is good money but it's really the role that makes you money.
Am I missing a joke or are you both getting Fortunate Son's name wrong?
It's a 4chan meme referencing some poster who was complaining about Fortunate Son being ubiquitous in some games, despite not knowing the title of Fortunate Son. It went like >Vietnam level >it ain't me starts playing
I think this might be funny.
not in a good way
just imagine an african witch doctor sitting in a cubicle programming a cursed game for the atari 2600.
just imagine an african witch doctor sitting in a cubicle programming a cursed game for the atari 2600.
"I hate sacrificing goats for this game." "At least you don't have to try and code this game in the next 2 weeks"
Name recognition is the thing that makes you money in Hollywood.
What about that fat ginger kid who keeps showing up as a major extra but never gets a proper role?
What about that fat ginger kid who keeps showing up as a major extra but never gets a proper role?
People are more likely to see a movie when they recognize a name instead of an image, like a persons face.
