For those who are wanting to learn Japanese or are still at a novice level, I recommend this program called human Japanese. It covers writing, grammar, vocabulary, culture and more. It does this through animations for writing, quizzes, games, and a searchable dictionary system.
***Note*** There is also an intermediate version currently for iOS only, but soon available on other platforms. (Small dev. team, but they work hard to keep their customers happy.)
The company has great feedback, answering all emails/Facebook posts.
English is my first language, and Afrikaans is my second (South Africa). People who speak Dutch, German or Flemish will probably be able to understand some afrikaans.
I'm also in the early stages of learning French.

Best language-learning tool I've ever used.
Danish, Polish*, English and some German**.
*Home taught, kind of.
I can speak and read it without too many issues, however my writing is quite bad.
**Grammar is decent, but I lost so much vocabulary over the past three years since I don't use the language, that it's quite hard to speak now.
I have shitty handwriting when it comes to english
What is my luck going to be when I'm writing in Japanese.

I wouldn't use a biro, they tend to want to continue in the direction of the groove they are making in the paper.
Native spanish speaker, i also speak fluent english and i'm learning french with duolingo
I was discussing languages with a finnish friend a few days ago, and he told me he was learning Japanese and he said it was a fairly simple language that makes sense. So right now I'm learning Hiragana, not sure if I will learn the entire language, maybe not.

Native is russian, started to learn english when I was 3 yrs old(grandma was an english teacher for many years), have to study latvian(9 years so far) in school(I absolutely hate it) as well as french(6 years and I do like it). Going to move to London this summer, away from Latvia, so english is basicly most important for me(except native russian, of course).
I'm looking to learn Korean however I don't know many sources I could use. I've been to Memrise and saw like a 4-5 part video that just explained the letters, sounds, and numbers. I found the same videos on Youtube when I looked it up. Any other better things to use besides Memrise? Books might work as well.
With an uncommon language (Korean, southeast Asian, African, indigenous etc) basically the only way you're gonna get anywhere is by finding someone to speak to over skype or something similar - look for language exchanges where you trade an hour of Korean for an hour of English or something similar, and buy a cheap phrasebook to get you started.
I know a bit of Yiddish, but it's mostly insults and rude things. Otherwise it's all just simple stuff. I picked it up mostly from my Grandmother.
Also studying C++ and Java, in case they are considered as languages in this thread...

All but Human Japanese. Either way, you're not going to be able to speak German without real-world practice.
Scot's English and drunken slurs. A couple of other languages, but that's it.
