Works for me, and I'm in Canada.
I have a paypal account and everytime I want to buy something I just get my dad to send me some money from his paypal. Oh and I'm 16, so I could get a debit card now if I wanted (I don't know where the OP lives but in the UK it's 16 to get a debit card)
