Why are your squats so low dumbbells are not a workout What in the tits is the difference between a pull up and a vertical pull up
i think he's confusing pullups with pushups or as he calls them "horizontal pullups" [editline]05:12AM[/editline] but seriously you should tell us how many sets and reps you do with that routine not just the exercises
Here's my new workout schedule: Bench Press: 100 lbs Squat: 85 lbs Dumbbells: 90 lbs Pushups: 45 Pullups: 35 Vertical Pullups: 20 (I'm 6'5 & 197 lbs fyi) [editline]09:35PM[/editline] hopefully it's good 'nuff [editline]09:35PM[/editline] for me
90lbs dumbbells, does that mean you curl 40kgs? i can barely do 25kg. :ohdear:
I only curl 17kg on each arm :3:
1RM for the 3 main exercises Deadlifts: 325 Squats: 325 Bench Press: 265 Bodyweight: 200 lbs How long you've been working out: Off and on for 4 years, solidly everyday with proper nutrition and diet for about 5 months Why you workout: I want to look like ronnie coleman, I'm pursuing a side career in mixed martial arts and I'm enlisting in the armed forces so weightlifting/bodybuilding benefits all those Most recent picture: 208 lbs 3 months ago (just showing general size) i was 204 in that picture I really don't focus too much on the 3 exercises listed above I do 120 lbs standing barbell curls/standing skull crushers, 55 lbs dumbell curls/standing tricep raises, 95 lbs dumbell presses, 65 lbs dumbell flyes, 165 lbs bent over rows, 125 lbs military presses, 85 lbs dumbell shoulder shrugs, 65 lbs dumbell weighted lunges, 85 lbs dumbell weighted calf raises i work out in my garage. all those weights i listed above i can do atleast one 15 rep set of. i usually pyramid it, 15-12-10-8-6. if i'm not tired or feel like i haven't done enough i'll climb back up the pyramid.
Your lifts seem really disproportionate to me. Should probably have a higher dead/squat ratio compared to your bodyweight, where as your bench is pretty fucking high.
Your lifts seem really disproportionate to me.
Focus on dem squatz and deadz sonnyboy
i kno i kno, i've been neglecting them, i don't have enough weight in my garage to move up, so i have to go to my MMA gym to do a decent deads/squats (thighs/lower back) workout which is really hard because i have boxing for 30 minutes, grappling for 2 hours then kickboxing for an hour, and i'm way too tired if i do hard sets. idk, i need to start running again or something. scared of my knee tho. i def. wanna get my numbers up though. i want to try that westside 5-3-1 workout.

But yeah I think if you did deadlifts/squats you would pack on a fuckton of size and since you're already 200+ it would help you a lot, seeing as you're already pretty big, and since you want to look like Ronnie, and one thing you gotta know about Ronnie: He fucking loves his squats!

I've been in sports pretty much all my life but I had to abandon fighting for other stuff that I was better at. I also think deads and squats would help you a lot in your MMA. Oh, and here's a pic that sums up how I feel, sorry it's a de-motivator but it's the only one that I actually think applies
i just took this i've been sick for 2 days and for some reason my chest looks small it's not. i have gigantic boobies, but whatevz yes i work my arms very hard because having gigantic arms is like having a million dollars. bitches love it.
dem traps. you do shrugs?
ofcourse. heavy ass shrugs. they should be bigger but i actually stopped for two months due to my shoulder being sore, but now that my shoulder is fine i started doing em again
how big are your arms in inches (if youve measured?)
19in :D
holy shit really? I guess they don't look like 19 to me cause you have a pretty big frame but here is 19s congrats though, that's solid, how much do you curl?
One thing that makes me rage is when my friends try to lose weight so their muscles are more defined, and they refuse to jog on the streets because they're embarrassed. I don't see what's so embarrassing about getting in shape? I don't see anyone driving by someone jogging and go "HAHA FAGGOT YOU'RE GAY FOR GETTING IN SHAPE"
I started the P90X videos at the beginning of September and as of right now I've lost five inches off my waist line. Just do the exercises and don't load your body full of shit and you'll start to lose weight. It's not that hard. And I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, so no one deserves to bitch that P90X is too hard to keep doing.
I've wanted to look into that. Does it need weights or anything? Or is it just cardio and body weight workouts? Then i go slow to motivate them to run after my car to beat me.

TBH I think I might've measured wrong cause my dads are 17 1/2 and they seem to be just a little bigger then mine, so in about a week i'm gonna measure em again and see if i fucked up. i curl 120 barbell, 55 lbs dumbell.

Hopefully my arms start getting way bigger, my strength in them has gone way up but size is only slowly coming along. [editline]04:29PM[/editline] oh and i do 100 and 45`s for reps of 5-10
So yeah, I'm a tall skinny guy and I want to work on my shoulders and arms. What's the best thing for me to do to get everything into shape?
So yeah, I'm a tall skinny guy and I want to work on my shoulders and arms. http://www.youtube.com/user/scooby1961?blend=1&ob=4 This is a good Youtube Channel for Bodybuilding. This guy explains everything you need to know, either in his videos or on his webiste.
To be honest I don't know how much weight I put on I got into weight lifting 2 months ago cause of football pre season and they never told me how much the bar weighs and to tell how much weight I'm putting on. They just told me to put on how much weight you can do.
Sounds like your instructors are retarded, and just for your information a regular sized weight bar is 45 lbs. [editline]07:33PM[/editline]
errbody wanna be a body builder but aint no one wanna lift no heavy ass weight i do it tho aint nuttin but a peanut lightweight yeah buddy
liight weight buddayyy!!!!
I've wanted to look into that. Does it need weights or anything? Or is it just cardio and body weight workouts? [editline]01:00AM[/editline]
You need weights. I know it sounds bull, but you gotta spend around $300 minimum. I just started 2 weeks ago and here's what I bought: -10, 20, 30 pound dumbbells (two of each) - around $120-$150 depending on the store. You might be able to find a dumbbell that you can add or remove weight from for less -Pull up bar - around $50 depending on store -Yoga Mat - Around $30, although I suppose you could go cheaper if you look around more then I did -Yoga Cube if your going to do the Yoga video - $10 -Pushup Bars if you want to match their pushups - $20 -Resistance Bands if your like me (the average guy) and can't do dozens of pullups yet - cost me $40 for two bands So yeah, I'd say your looking to spend around $300 minimum if you don't have any of the above equipment. Plus another $120 for the P90x box, unless you've already "got that covered". You also need a chair, and a free wall to lean against. And you'll also need a good amount of space in front of your TV. Ideally if you have a coffee table, move it out of the way, move the couch back, and you should be set. Sounds like crap, I know, but it will also get you GREAT results. If your working out at home you don't have the excuse of not "making it to the gym", so you'll be hitting it hard 6 days a week for 13 weeks. Even if it means working out late at night because you procrastinate (I just did Plyometrics at 10-11pm, not a good idea), if you stay with it, you'll be happy. I'd say $400 is a lot of money, but it's also completely worth it because you will feel so good about yourself afterwords. Not to mention the equipment isn't just useful for P90x - you can use it all your life. It's a worthy investment.
I don't know how you are going to apparently mange to use 10,20,30 pound dumbbells your whole life, you will outgrow them after you're done the program, really you'll only be able to use them for shoulders. 400 bucks is a lot, why not get a gym membership?
400 bucks is really a lot of money. Maybe you want to quit after a year, would be a big waste of money.
400 bucks is really a lot of money. If you can help it, free weights are the way to go. Sure they require some safety measures, but you will be MUCH stronger.
