looks good, but I completely 100% do not agree with a keto diet
you know it is made for epileptic children and has many many serious side effects, right?
I hate how it is spreading on all forums and people are doing it without realising this
Since everybody is posting shirtless pics, I figured I'd do so aswell. Been a member of my gym for like 2 and a half months now. I'm sure I could've done better, but seeing as I work at McDonalds, thus get free food, and have a real fondness of alcohol and cigarettes, progress is obviously going to be aweful.

don`t worry dude if you cut you can be ripped and look decent sized
how much do you weigh in that pic?

don't do HEAPS of cardio, just do SOME cardio lol
I am 5'10.5, ~148 pounds. My swim team swims ~300-400 yards for the moment every day.
I have a huge problem when it comes to my arm strength. Mid-way through, my arms are just giving way to the water, it's just making it harder for me to push through it.
Are there any form of exercise that gets my arm strength up? I've been eating properly (2-3 meals with tons of fruit at the sides) and been doing ~100 curls for each of my arms in 5-8 minutes , with only 15-pound weights. I've also been trying to do 50 pushups in a row afterwards.
Anything more?
The problem is, you are doing swimming (endurance) and then 100 curls (endurance)
Do more weight for the curls, and less reps (6-12)
Work on triceps too, I did competitive swimming and I always noticed my tris would hurt after a while, not sure how but I think they play a pretty big part in some strokes.
Yeah, I've got really good symmetry. I have trouble gaining mass though, even if I dirty bulk.. I still can't really gain anything, it's retarded.
[editline]1st February 2011[/editline]
and yeah.. 140, it sucks. I wanna be like a solid 180 before I get into professional wrestling.
you CAN gain lots of weight if you eat right
it's too often I hear people say things like "i have trouble gaining mass, even if i dirty bulk i cant gain anything"
not saying you specifically..
but really, anyone can gain weight (unless you have some medical condition or something or other)
1. Eat many times a day
2. Eat a lot
3.????
4. Profit
easy as that, see how many calories you eat now, then add 1000 to it if you have that fast of a metabolism, you will definitely gain weight (1000 may be too much/little but it's just an example)
problem with dirty bulking is some people eat 2 meals of fast food and feel full, even though it has the same calories after 5 meals of healthy foods
just write it down, rememeber it , etc.
oh and eating is not that hard, I do it every 2-3 hours with ~1000 calories each time
you just go to dedicate yourself, eating a lot is much easier than eating a little lol
[editline]2nd February 2011[/editline]
oh and yo perfum, I got the quickmass today, got a sick deal at the supp store (40 bucks less than GNC for same thing, lol@gnc=phaggots)
it should last me like 20-30 days, then the day after I am done taking it=day I start my cut
at 180 right now, hopefully 190~when I'm done (yes, I realise 10 pounds is a lot and it won't all be muscle, but it won't all be fat either)
i need to gain sum vert LoLs
I don't dedicate TOO much to weightlifting but my friend from school does. He has his own youtube channel dedicated towards that stuff.
Heres a video from him:

Check his other videos and what not. Not spamming, just bringing something up that you guys might be interested with.
Not to hate but he's 16 5'6 and 120lbs. Most guys here are the hulk compared to him.

He should probably get some more experience under his belt before he starts instructing people

and he doesn't know what he's talking about

Example and comments
Due to massive amounts of snow, I missed front squat tuesday.
I hit 405 on back squat yesterday tho, missed first time and blacked out, but got it the first time, almost busted a blood vessel.

I understand where your coming from. Why not let him know what hes doing wrong? I would, but like I said, I have little experience in this.
Because if you look at the comments he denies anything he is doing is wrong because he thinks the ~SUPER SHREDDED BODYBUILDER~ at your school knows everything.
[editline]2nd February 2011[/editline]
Basically he's in denial, and appears to be on glutamine during a bulk (lolwut)
Agree for denial.
So I drank too much and was so hungover the next day that I couldn't hold down any food. Lost 3 pounds this weekend. :(

which is why I only now drink on special occasions, or fridays (brb rest day saturday sunday lol)
Front squats work slightly different shit, and they are a lot harder for most people, for me not so much. I max out at about 315 on front squat compared to 405 on back.

So do you think I should do them or not? which different muscles do they work? I always thought they just put way more stress on stabilizer muscles compared to normal squats
someone want to explain cutting to me? How it's done and why?
Also, if I eat a lot, are protein shakes even necessary for me to bulk?
More than anything I really just want to fill out and get some abs. I'm still working on all the muscles though. I'm just inexperienced with this and don't know what the end effect will be in 2 months.

Some one will explain this 100x better than I can in probably an hour or so. But from what I know its bulking up off high calorie/protein foods (some people here are eating 5k calories a day etc) while lifting regularly. Then after reaching the weight you want, you start eating less and you run and do cardio while lifting to cut out all the fat.
Ok, been a while since I did heavy cardio. Was fit enough and heart rate didn't get too high but my feet and ankles were shitting themselves. My feet still hurt. How long does it take for them to toughen up?
Also what's good dietwise for doing cardio? Weights are carbs before and protein straight after, what works best for building athletic ability?
I drink on Fridays.. my rest days are always Saturday&Sunday. Go hard 5 days of the week... Sucks leaving legs for Friday though.. you think it's hard enough to walk when you're drunk? Imagine being drunk and your legs just burning every step you take.
Agree for denial.
I posted because I couldn't resist. can't wait to see what he has to say back. Hopefully he's a little less full of himself when he knows I could literally eat him over the course of a month.

What serious side effects? I've read and heard a lot of it but I still don't see the real dangers. Sure if your kidneys are bad you shouldn't use it and you got to remember to drink a lot of water ect.
A few of my friends always use it to cut. If I need to cut, I'm going to use it.

I'd also like to know why you [VQ35HR] don't agree. I'm always eager to hear new information.
I've only used it about 4 or so times when my bodyfat gets a bit too high for my liking. It's just a quick burst of low carbs, high protein and lots of water. The only difficulty I find is keeping energetic in the gym without the carbs. Otherwise, I find it's pretty effective for cutting and maintaining.
Still, I'd like to hear your input as you seem like a pretty knowledgeable guy.

If you want to cut, eat a balanced diet, and eat less.
If you want to bulk, eat a balanced diet and eat a lot.
That's the best way to change your weight.

Ketogenic is too destructive and useless. If you understand how your body utilizes fat storages, then you'll see it's useless. It all comes down to body type eventually as to how fast and efficiently you lose the fat.
Read Burn the fat, feed the muscle. Big advocate of that ebook, because it's awesome. I read every possible diet and nothing compares to it.

Just a summarization of a few of them: "constipation, low-grade acidosis, and hypoglycaemia if there is an initial fast. Cholesterol may increase by around 30%. Long-term use of the ketogenic diet increases the risk of retarded growth, bone fractures, and kidney stones. Supplements are necessary to counter the dietary deficiency of many micronutrients."

Cutting is eating at a calorie deficit. You have to subtract a small number of calories (couple hundred) from your diet and it takes quite a long time (month or two) depending on your condition. The slower you cut, the less muscle you willl burn along with the fat. The point of a cut is to burn the fat and to get leaner.
And depends how much protein you are getting from foods when you`re bulking, you might or might not need extra protein.
I wanna get abs for summer. How many sit-ups per day should I do?

Abs are made in the kitchen, get a low BF%.
[editline]2nd February 2011[/editline]
or if you're not okay with anorexic abs and want to gain mass on your abs do weighted abs exercises.
^Sadly, true
I've got about 20 kgs of lard obstructing the view :P
I know they're there and they're getting better because I can trace them in the thinner spots.
Hopefully I get abs by summer, I wonder how much bodyfat it`s possible to lose in 2 months with strict dieting
If you're an ecto cutting will probably prove very easy for you as ectos have a nautrally low BF% to begin with.
