Fuck yeah. Checked on the scale at the gym last night, and i'm at 204. That's about 4 pounds in a month or so. Time to step it up though. I want to be looking a little healthier by the time spring is in full effect.
did back/bis today wow i did an entire 2 reps of wide grip pull-ups why is it so much harder than normal pull-ups god dammit
because lats. All I do is wide gripped pullups because close grip is for sissies. I don't know how many close grip I can do anymore but I can do about 12 wide ones.
did back/bis today wow i did an entire 2 reps of wide grip pull-ups why is it so much harder than normal pull-ups god dammit
I have the same problem, can do close grip pull ups all day but struggle after four wide grip. Cocked my knee up playing basket ball on wednesday which pretty much turned into rugby lol. Had to play a 2 set tennis match yesterday with swelling the size of a golf ball on the bottom of my knee , probably wasent the best idea. Meeehh
We're doing weight training for freshman football right now. I have a membership to the YMCA, so is there anything I can do there (besides the actual machines) outside of weight training to lose my fat and build muscle?
Cardio to lose fat, lots of it.
did back/bis today wow i did an entire 2 reps of wide grip pull-ups why is it so much harder than normal pull-ups god dammit
Because you use different muscles.
Did the legs/back/abs, used 19kg dumbbells, grip failed before legs, bah. Weakling arms. Still managed to do 40 different kinds of squats and 60ish calf raises (plus billion weak man pull ups and abs)
Is it ok to work out 2 days in a row as long as you don't work out the same muscle groups as you did the previous day? [editline]4th February 2011[/editline] Or should I just be satisfied with alternating days between bodyweight exercises and freeweights the next.
never work the same muscle twice in one week or you risk irreparably damaging it due to a breakdown of myofibrils which will eventually lead to death dont do it in fact never work the same muscle group ever
in fact never work the same muscle group ever
agreed, last time I worked biceps was when I was 14. I am so swole now.
just work them for 6 hours straight you are set for life
So has all of that caffeine supplementation killed you yet firerain?
i got shin splits and stopped working out lmao now i just do dumbbell circuits for cardio
Thanks Seith! I'll also be doing the general "Think fit" stuff, taking stairs or using less ketchup stuff like that. I'm thinking if I cut out snacks and soda, I should start seeing some visual results in a month with all the extra exercise I'll be doing. Sound right?
make sure to include pullups, pushups, and dips don`t cut out snacks, just cut out extremely unhealthy things [editline]5th February 2011[/editline]
Does anyone of you have tips for some ab and other upper body exercises? I'm not trying to gain bulk, I want to sustain a fit type body. I got one of these sit-up benches, dumbells with various weights and a pull up bar at home. Like how much should I do each time and how many times in the week? I've been trying to do 3-4 times sit-ups and push and pull ups and all that basic shit, but do you guys know some nifty moves? [img_thumb]http://www.bocaso-sport.ro/products/8c5a4c6b9f9.jpg[/img_thumb] That kind of bench.
um....I would like to help you...but I`m not really sure what`s going on in that picture [editline]5th February 2011[/editline]
I don't like having chicken legs, what are some good exercises I can do build mass on my legs? preferably with minimal equipment. I have a barbell and dumbbells, I've been doing dumbbell lunges, squats, and deadlifts. How often can I do these? Would doing them every other day be too much? For some weird reason I actually enjoy doing lower body exercises more than upper body exercises.
usually for squats and deadlifts, you should only do them once or so a week if you are going heavy
nice definition dude so are you good at sports, or was a wholesale store having a sale on trophies??? v:v:v
That's the guy with the famous dad GOD YOUR MEMORY IS SHIT VQ [editline]5th February 2011[/editline]
i got shin splits and stopped working out lmao now i just do dumbbell circuits for cardio
"I got shin splints so I turned into a lesbian" - Firerain, 2011
Fuck yeah I hit 145 on max for bench! and 135 on power clean!!
Lulz shin splints. How do you get shin splints so bad you can't run? I run like 3 times a week, really hardcore cardio/football training shit, hell last time I threw up everywhere I was going so hard. That and I put on like 50lbs over a year. 190-240. I had some shin hurting but thats it.
I have the same problem, can do close grip pull ups all day but struggle after four wide grip.
Wait a minute ! So your record 17 was for close grip or normal grip ? Mine 15 is for wide grip. [editline]5th February 2011[/editline]
i got shin splits and stopped working out lmao
I have same shin splints kind of pain in my forearms (not legs) when I do normal biceps curls, it occur at the extremes of motion. And when putting down the barbell. Normally I consider chin ups (weighted chin ups) and reverse variations as a good substitute.

I think I have pretty good muscle development going.
I've never been able to get my calves to protrude out too much, they've always been small.
