I prefer cycling and running and pushups to weightlifting. Anal prolapses are a terrifying thought
I suggest you stop weightlifting and do bodyweight exercises until you are at least 16. [editline]04:45AM[/editline] He probably just started working out and since most people do at least some form of chest exercise while they are growing up, many people do not work out their back, therefore explaining why his chest might be a bit stronger. Once he starts doing deadlifts regularly it will quickly and surely bypass his bench though.
So basically do pushups and situps and all that? Cause that's all I've been doing lately since I have no access to a gym Also yeah I just started working out. Didn't even know what a deadlift was until 3 months ago lol.
Anal prolapses are a terrifying thought
Please elaborate [editline]04:40AM[/editline]
So basically do pushups and situps and all that?
What do the main exercsises consist of? Just wondering.
For the days where your lifting weights - like on a day called "Chest and Back", you often do a 60 minute workout, working through 24 exercises. Some of these consist of doing 12 unique exercises, where you would repeat the whole workout after you go through it. Others are 24 unique exercises with no repetition. There are 30-60 second breaks every 10 minutes or so. Some of the time is dedicated to stretching too. Most of the exercises use dumbbells, it's pretty cool because I'm a huge fan of using them. On every day you do an exercise targeting muscles, it's followed by the Ab video, which is 20 minutes and basically works out your abs. So all in all, each day dedicated to muscles is around 90 minutes. The other videos include cardio in the form of jumping, punching, kicking, and maybe more, I haven't done all the videos yet. They are also 60 minutes. There's a Yoga video your suppose to do every week and its 90 minutes long, but I had trouble doing it because I don't have the patience for yoga :P You do 6 exercises a week for 13 weeks, and every month the routine switches up. Hope that explains it
Do not eat protein before work outs it will just sit in your stomach you eat carbs before work outs just to fill your stomach.
So, the real benefit is at eating protein AFTER work out? Then I better be taking big meals after work out too?
I can lift a whole cup of tea to my mouth Practise :smug: And in all seriousness, I need to make my arms less 2D
Anyway OP, I thought you would like to know what motivates me. :smug: I have conclusive evidence that ladies lust over some nice abs. I am not sure about the rest of the body, but what really gets them are some good looking abs. I met a woman, that threw to the window her conservative Christian religious beliefs, to lust over some abs - my friend let her touch them, and in no time, he fucked her. That's a lot of power, isn't it? People understimate the power of some good looking abs.

It kind of pisses me off how girls only care about abs lol, but whatever I guess. `Lol you dun workout you dun have six pack, he has a sixpack he works out harddd like he does 20 crunches 3 times a day omg` FUCK. But if you are muscular and have abs-fuck yeah. [editline]03:48PM[/editline]
So, the real benefit is at eating protein AFTER work out? Also, have a high protein/carb meal 1-2 hours before you work out. My friend did it and he said he did it a certain way to get size and he got pretty big after doing it, I don't know how though. Is that possible with the program?
Did pullups with 50 pounds extra weight, feels good man.
Its taken almost a year to reach the point where I don't feel sore and tired after every work out. Stop making excuses and start getting results.
I enjoyed that feeling. It is like you have achieved something, and didnt waste another day infront of the pc.
I rep at my weight of 180 lbs: 3x5 bench press 185 lbs 4x5 Squat 240 lbs 3x5 Deadlift 310 lbs 3x8 Leg press 410 lbs And that is nothing compared to the Bodybuilding forums
So, i finally just bit the bullet and got a gym membership. It was 80 up front, but 50 of that was just for their keyless entry thing. So, for 30 bucks a month, i've got access to a pretty nice gym that's less than a 5 minute drive from my house (Someday, i hope to get a bike, then i can just ride there and knock out the Cardio on the 2 massive hills between my house and the gym). Anyhow, i figured a 24 hour gym, close to my house, takes away any excuses i have not to work out. I also grabbed a copy of the "Men's Health: Home Workout Bible". It's got a ton of exercises in it, so i'm going to work on figuring out what i want to do this evening, then knock it out after my 4-midnight shift in the Kitchen tonight. Should be pretty good. I'm hoping to get in better shape, and hopefully see some improvements in hockey.
For those just starting you need to have a routine or you won't get anything accomplished. http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=117429161 IMO the best starting workout you can do. Most starters do biceps or bench everyday..and that's really stupid. 3x5,3x8,3x10,3x2, and then start over. If you don't change the reps and weight you will plateau and get little gains. You will see increase in strength pretty much weekly, and you can see visual changes within a month. There is no need to stay in the gym for 3 hours...1 - 1hr 30min is pretty normal.
So what do fatasses like me do? I've been doing gymnastics for 2 years and actively working out for a year, yet I haven't lost any fat. I can feel muscle under my flab, and I'm gaining weight in muscle, but all the fat I had 2 years ago is still hanging around. [editline]04:15PM[/editline] Also, I'm currently 16. [editline]04:15PM[/editline] And fatass is a bit strong of a word, I think slightly obese is a bit better.
Well obviously you need to cut weight. In weightlifting there is cutting and bulking. Cutting is when you eat surplus calories and protein so your body can grow. Cutting is when you eat less calories then what your body normal takes in. If you've been eating 3000 calories while bulking, and since around 2000 is around how much your body needs to maintain itself then you need to eat less than 2000 calories to lose weight. 2000 is a rough estimate, it depends on what you weigh. When you cut you lose muscle because your body loses muscle before fat, but you will still lose fat. You can go on CKD diet (Cycling Keto diet) which will make you keep muscle. You eat under 30 carbs a day, and then on the last day of the week you eat tons of carbs to replenish your muscles for the next week. It's like the atkins diet except on the CKD you carb load. Your body has been taught to use carbs for fuel, but if you change the fuel then fat burning becomes more efficient. You need to take in more healthy fats. Low carb food is mostly meat and veggies. Avoid pasta/bread/fruits at all costs. You can eat a lot of great foods on the CKD, but do more research on it. Cardio wouldn't be a bad idea either to lose weight...plus your working out the most important muscle in your body(the heart).
I enjoyed that feeling. It is like you have achieved something, and didnt waste another day infront of the pc.
If you've reached that point that just means your muscles got used to it and you need to switch it up. I know professional weightlifters who have been working out for years and they still get sore the day after because they constantly switch things up. [editline]01:32AM[/editline]
I rep at my weight of 180 lbs: 3x5 bench press 185 lbs 4x5 Squat 240 lbs 3x5 Deadlift 310 lbs 3x8 Leg press 410 lbs And that is nothing compared to the Bodybuilding forums
Lol bodybuilding forums are all e-statting, 90% of the kids there that get called out don't post videos or either do post videos doing like 1/3 of the weight. Most of the kids on there are lying, and the rest do steroids/prohormones.
Could somebody post a biceps routine with screenshots? English isn't descriptive enough for me. Please!
Could somebody post a biceps routine with screenshots? English isn't descriptive enough for me. Please!
Get your bench press bar and put it on the ground. Put your desired weight on the bar and start doing curls. You got yah bicepz
I bench 110 kilos. No kidding.
WTF. No you're not fit then. You should be able to do at least 10 dips. Got a joint problem or something?
fit =/= strong
We all wish we could do that.
That bar is fucking bending. [editline]08:01PM[/editline] Good god.
We all wish we could do that.
I would be content being able to push that damn thing someplace. Fuck lifting it!
That bar is fucking bending. [editline]08:01PM[/editline] Good god.
the bar bends when I do my 300 pound deadlifts lol
I would be content being able to push that damn thing someplace. Fuck lifting it!
the weird thing about it is he doesn't even look THAT strong (obviously he's huge, just that when I see that weight I associate it with a 350 pound bulked up weightlifter). it's impressive
Do those have any drawbacks? Like how steroids have to be taken FOREVER or else you lose your muscle (thats what i heard if thats wrong then I'm sorry)
You lose your muscle because your body isn't supposed to have that much fucking muscle on it. To have ridiculously large muscles you will need to work out all the time.. your body only keeps what it needs in the longrun. It's not about building muscle mass, if you're weightlifting you should *ideally* be doing it to bolster your practical strength. Working out for "show muscles" may actually hamper you when doing real labor.

What hypno-toad said. I myself am not to concerned with getting the mass, and other people shouldn't either. Besides, people often don't get mass improvement results when they exercise. If you want "show muscles", lose some fat so the muscle actually gets exposed. I'm a hefty guy; 6'2", about 200 lbs, so it looks like I don't have much muscle, but my strength is great. I have to admit that by body was a worthless pile of shit about two months ago. I went a little hardcore when school came around and I felt like setting a good goal before I graduated. I have been working out 4-5 days a week, an hour each. I start with ten minutes of stretching since I feel like a good stretching routine really helps me. It gives me more energy and mentally makes me feel good. I then run a mile on the school track, in as fast of a time that I can get. I then finally go to the gym and get a even workout on my whole body. In five week I've transformed my body from nothing into something. The pants I bought just before I made this workout choice are now loose on me and everyone is telling me that I've slimmed up. Always have a good cardio workout, even if strength/muscle training is your focus. You need good lung health and blood flow to get strong and have muscle.
fit =/= strong
Hey dumbass. Semantics. 10 dips isn't strong OR fit, so go back to your cave. [editline]04:31AM[/editline]
you are losing fat, you're just gaining muscle at the same time so you're weight isn't going down that much. remember, muscle weighs more than fat.
HNNNGEE. Why the fuck do people say this? Muscle does NOT weigh more than fat. If you have 1kg of one substance and 1kg of another substance, they both weigh 1 fucking kilogram. Muscle is more DENSE than fat, which has nothing to do with weight.
