On the bright side, my cardio does need some work. I can't even count the times I've been last when running.
cardio is always good (unless you're underweight)
Why leave your body without nutrients for 8 hours then blast it with concentrated protein? That's why you have it before bed (slow digesting) so overnight your body does not even notice a change.
If your muscles are sore they will be fine if you are already eating at a surplus, having any extra is kind of useless.
I have also done Kickboxing/Muay Thai (mma) for more than half my life so I know what both of those mean. Oh, and my workout buddy is over 200 pounds and deadlifts over 400 so I think I am hanging out with the right kind of people. I can also deadlift 300+ myself so I think I got at least a little bit of credential lol.
[editline]07:26AM[/editline]
just think, every single one of them was probably at one point in the same position as you, the difference is, they stuck to it and went in there but you backed off and did some running
man up!!
You don't have to BLAST it with protein. And yes, I drink a protein shake before bed, but like many experienced lifters will tell you..breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it's important you drink a protein shake to get your muscles working properly. it's like WD-40, or insurance.

breakfast IS the most important meal of the day for people who do not receive nutrients during sleep and don't eat until 12 pm. experienced lifters drink protein before sleep and after breakfast they have 2 meals in 3-4 of the next hours. i really don't see why it's so important to have protein in the morning, since your body stores protein and since you're having some before bed it already has enough for it to 'work properly' but everyone has their preference i guess.

Like the OP said, don't take supplements.
Even if you see a difference, as soon as you stop working out, all that "muscle" turns back into fat, really quickly. Also your shits will smell like the supplement you've taken and you will be shitting alot.
My understanding was always: "if it's not hurting the next day, you're not working hard enough", lol
DOMS =/= good workout.

You don't know shit about biology, do you?
Supplements do make you poop a fuckton though.
I JUST started lifting last week.
I don't do benches/sit ups/curls/squats per say. In some ways I do..
I follow: http://www.amazon.com/30-Minutes-Fitness-Weights-Coffey-Meyer/dp/B00170C15O
But I use a lot more weight than them.
I'm 6'4 180.
Supplements do make you poop a fuckton though.
Creatine doesn't make you poop more, otherwise it would be a weight loss supplement.
i personally don't take supplements. Instead i eat lots of eggs and peanut butter and drink lots of milk. And honestly your body can only take so much protein at once. Too much protein can be a very bad thing for your body.
i have an appointment with an instructor this week to show me around the gym and to set up a routine
looking fwd
supplements are fine...i don't know why people hate on them. you shouldn't use them if you're under 18, but alot of supplements work and do wonders. superpump 250, and pretty much all of the gaspari nutrition line make you shredded as fuck.
I'm in weight lifting at my school as well,it is a really fun class and i plan to stick with it my entire high scholl career.

If you are a weightlifter, you need a lot of protein to get a protein overload. Don't worry as long as you are between 1.5 - 2 grams of protein pr. kg bodyweight.

lol 2 per kg of bodyweight is nothing really, you should be going 1.5 per pound or so
oh and going back to that thing that someone posted where average male weight was 180 and arm size was 13 inches, lol how can you even be that big with 13 inch arms
Wow the automerge is screwin up more lately.
1RM for the 3 main exercises
Bodyweight
How long you've been working out
Why you workout
1RM-225
Weight-200
4 years ive been working out
I work out so when some asshole wants to make a slick comment about me being a loser, nerd, etc. i can whip his ass
I'm looking at a lot of posters here and disgusting "big-buff" bodies.
I'll come back to this thread to post how my body looks, but just saying, I'm going for that lean ripped look, I do sprints every day and I go to gym to workout strength and power only. Bitches love touching me, none of the disgusting shit I've seen posted in this thread, and I can bench a lot for my size and build.
I'm 160
6"0'
I can sprint faster than most of the buff idiots and I have way more endurance.
It's better to be ripped and lean than buff and slow

to each their own...how much can you bench? and sure, some girls like ripped guys but it's much easier to get ripped and have a sixpack then to really get buff. to get 'ripped', all you need to do is cardio, workout your abs and do some toning exercises. to get buff, you need to hit every part of your body with hard workouts at least twice a week. i think it takes much more dedication too.
I don't think one is better than the other, but I'd rather be buff and strong than skinny and fast.

You're either a troll or you have zero fucking idea what you are talking about.
muscle can't turn to fat shiteater, thats like metal turning into brick
does anyone have any good ab circuits I can do at home, I just have free weights and am getting a bit bored of the one I normally do
[editline]04:58PM[/editline]
also whats bad about taking supplements, I mean yeah the supplement market is terrible but taking some gold standard whey and some creatine is only going to help you.
http://theswole.com/ get educated bitches

Yeah but with supplements you'd gain better results.
Idea of whey protein is that its absorbed twice as fast as regular protein such as caseine in milk, and is ideal to take fast protein after exercise to turn catabolism into anabolism. You should use slow proteins with meals, especially before going to sleep.
I just bought a bench press set. I'm gonna weld a diy biceps board to the bench. Has anyone done that?
awesome, i've been eating healthier and a lot more proteins + carbs throughout the holidays and i've gained around 3kg in 2 weeks, so I weigh 65kg now (still small i know). that's a pretty big leap for me since i've weighed 61-62kg for about 2 years now. :v:
Me and a mate made a deal, he wanted to see how buff I could get before christmas.
I'm 14, 186 tall, 68-70 kilos.
I have a bench ( for benchpressing obviously. ) one of these http://www.fitnessgruppen.dk/images/PImage/283141-L.jpg and 3, 5 and 10 kilo weights.
Can anyone help me get started the "best" way?
Like diet, running, workouts and such.
Oh and, does those powders work? I mean, is it worth it investing in a jar of it?
-Thanks!

Start by learning the core exercises: Deadlifts, squats and bench
I got perfect pushups and the iron gym (the new one)
What should my reps be?
