Is anybody following any training books? I came to a conclusion that these books are basically a diary of authors' progresses.
I only have this book called "Getting Stronger" that I use to look at different exercises, and I use some of the stretches in it. It's a good book. My dad passed it down to me when I first got into working out.
Anyone know ways to get rid of "Chin fat"?I woke up one day with a double chin. Note:I'm not a fat ass...which is weird.
Go on a diet and exercise.
Anyone know ways to get rid of "Chin fat"?I woke up one day with a double chin. Note:I'm not a fat ass...which is weird.
Yeah, do like 20 minutes minimum of daily cardio exercise. Cardio with good nutrition is key for losing fat anywhere in the body.
I'm really weak, as I'm still pretty "early" in life I guess you could say, my max on benchpress is pretty pitiful, but I workout 5 times a week for about an hour, legs, arms, and shoulders only though.
Why don't you work everything? How old are you?
I'm really weak, as I'm still pretty "early" in life I guess you could say, my max on benchpress is pretty pitiful, but I workout 5 times a week for about an hour, legs, arms, and shoulders only though.
Dont forget abs! I used to be pretty weak to. keep working out, no matter how low the weight it! you WILL get stronger and bigger eventually.Dont forget good nutrition you should make your self a workout schedule. Thats what i did so i can workout all my muscles within 3 days and give my self the proper amount of rest. Rest is VERY important because its when the muscles build.
Why don't you work everything? How old are you?
Football, and I'm a freshman. Most of my class is pretty weak, me being the..well, I'm not the weakest, in some areas I am, so areas I'm not, but I'm not best at everything. I'm not a real big bodybuilder so I don't know a lot of terms, but I'm pretty sure we work most of our areas during these workout (it's categorized very generally?).
Dont forget abs! At the most, I had lost 20 pounds, but then I gained it back in between the workout season and the actual game season.
Yeah, do like 20 minutes minimum of daily cardio exercise. Cardio with good nutrition is key for losing fat anywhere in the body.
I do around 40 minutes of Bicycling a day. Will that do any good?

Just search Scooby1961. Very helpful. Im not a big guy, and i started working out because i was skinny and weak. Im pretty proud of what i have accomplished. Now i still workout, but because i enjoy doing it! [editline]17th February 2011[/editline]
I do around 40 minutes of Bicycling a day. Will that do any good?
Thats very good. Worked out your legs alot to. Does anyone have any real strategy for losing weight, I'm willing to go on a diet, but my metabolism is really bad when it comes to this, I've been hearing protein, what exactly does it do, I know what it is, but never really figured out what exactly it does. Also, my legs are extremely sore from relapse due to barely any workouts of the legs, I seem to have managed to skip every day of leg workout in the past 2 weeks, weird, anyway to get them feeling better, after today's workout, my entire body felt awesome, then after like an hour, it went back to normal.

If you have belly fat, i would try to not do as much ab workouts because if the abs grow bigger, it pushed the belly fat making you look fatter! The only good strategy is good cardio daily and good nutrition. Diets are good, but eventually you have to go off a diet and once your off it youll most likly regain the weight pretty fast.
How long would you say until the fat would go away?
well to be honest with you. A good good rate for losing weight would be to lose 1 2 or 3 pounds per week. This means in about a year you can lose 100 pounds which is a very good rate! But buy into all these scams on the internet. They wont work, and even if they help you lose weight, it will mostly be back on you in like a few months. Weight lose is a slow process but well worth it!!!! [editline]17th February 2011[/editline]
If you don't want the abs of a 12 year old girl when you get done cutting you should do ab exercises.
what do you mean?
what do you mean?
I think he means that you should also build the muscle so that you will have some really good definition when you do cut the weight
I think he means that you should also build the muscle so that you will have some really good definition when you do cut the weight
True, but weight loss takes time. This might be just me, but muscle gains faster then fat loses. So i would say do ab workouts like half way between your weight lose goal. Althought everyone works different so what i just said may just aply to me :/
works differently* it's adverb modifying how people work. And honestly, I would argue that weight lifting is better than cardio because not only do you burn calories while you're doing it but it increases your metabolism. Cardio is important too, though. [editline]16th February 2011[/editline]
Guys did Arnie really invent the Arnold press?
No one has answered this yet and I really want to know.

Weight lifting isnt enough to lose weight because in order for weight to be lost, your heart must be in the "weight lose zone". You will burn some calories weight lifting, but not nearly as many as you would doing cardio. Plus if your over weight, your muscles will not show when you build them up untill you lose the fat. But other then that your right about metrobolish.
Sounds a bit like broscience to me. You can lose arguably just as much weight through diet and weightlifting as you could with diet and cardio. I recommend doing both but you do burn a good amount of calories weightlifting and with proper dieting it should be more than enough to lose a substantial amount of weight. The only way I can see that cardio is better is that you can only weight lift for so long until you over train and but you can do the same with cardio it just takes longer.

What isn't clear to you? Weight lifting for an hour can equate to burning about 300+ calories and that paired with proper dieting can be enough to see good results. Once again, I do recommend doing cardio with weightlifting to see the best results.

Once again, you should do both for the best results.
