I just realised I have no obliques. Makes for an awesome v-taper but I don't have anything close to an Adonis belt. Brb 4 months, getting some obliques.
bodybuilding is rooted in insecurity. a girl isn't going to care about how big you are. and bullies are notorious for ignoring size differences, they'll still pick on you because of how you act. i sincerely hope you can get over your self image problems.
Bodybuilding isn`t about one single thing, it`s pretty much a way of life for those who are dedicated to it. I do it to stay physically fit and active, gives me goals to set and achieve and I can go my own pace, whenever I want. I control everything I do and it gives me a sense of satisfaction. Getting muscular is awesome too because girls DO care if you`re physically fit. When you see a hot, fit girl, do you think she just eats whatever the fuck she wants and never goes to the gym? Maybe, but most likely she runs on the treadmill a lot, watches what she eats, etc. If you want a hot girl like that to notice you, why not be muscular and show that you have that same dedication? I know looks aren't everything but usually they are the first thing that establishes contact between two people. And lol, bullies. I took martial arts for that, chances are, if you workout seriously you probably don't get bullied :) [editline]6th December 2010[/editline]
I'm 5"6 125 lbs Bench 115 Squat 200 Deadlift 220 I've been lifting for almost 4 months now
Eat more!!! but good job on the lifts that`s pretty good for your weight [editline]6th December 2010[/editline]
I just realised I have no obliques. I do it partly to prove my physical appearance, sure, but it's for myself.

Tris Skullcrushers, tricep pushdowns, dips Bis Bar curls Preacher curls Delts Lateral raises Military press That's basically all I ever do for arms.
yeah, finals have made it really hard to get to the gym, but i've thankfully been able to make it and i have my last one tomorrow. This week has sucked
my finals are next week, almost everyday :(
yeah man, it's dreadful. I need a break so badly.
yeah man, it's dreadful. I need a break so badly.
definitely know how you feel, I have about 4 finals next week but I think I`ll keep working out, just after the tests because I don`t want to get too tired if I go before, lol
haha yeah. The gym helped me stay a live this week and get all my stress out. Ugh i have one more on thurs.
I have thunder thighs (I blame football, played lineman and never managed to shed the weight I gained), what is best way to get rid of them?
If they're muscle then you don't have too much you can do, besides maybe trying to fill out your legs and get the rest of your body big. If it's fat then i suggest plenty of aerobic/ anaerobic exercise to cut down
It's pretty much fat from what I can tell, lost most of my muscle after getting injured and doing jack shit for almost 3 years besides the occasion gym visit. Guess I'll have to start running more often, maybe take my cousin's dog for a jog.
like i said before though, you may want to consider visiting the gym more often. Anaerobic exercise can help boost metabolism and burn a lot of calories simultaneously
Can't really go to a gym enough to make a membership worthwhile. I visit my mom at her apartment complex about every other week and there's a gym there so I guess I can use that. and I have winter break coming up soon so I'll go use the little gym over there like everyday.
Good luck. You may want to try to get back in to sports, if you're physically able, or some sort of hobby bicycling, swimming, etc.
I can do swimming. [editline]7th December 2010[/editline] I started dieting a few weeks ago too, maybe is I actually took working out more seriously I can get back to my old weight. When I finish high school about 2 years ago I weighed 155lbs, now I'm like 185lbs :saddowns:

If you work out once a month it isn't going to do much, try to do something a few times a week consistently, and you'll see results.
Who here has "abs" days? Fuck, I see no point. I've gotten my rectus abdominis to look pretty hawt without ever targeting them. Pullups/deadlifts/squats really work them hard, I've found. I just have no fucking obliques, oh god I'm so self-conscious about that now :(

Now at school and work I eat salad or chicken sandwiches. I also started taking the stairs at the hospital I work at since my department is in the basement and the floor I work on is the 8th floor.

I don`t have abs day but I do them once in a while on days where I feel I still have some energy, because like you said deadlifts and squats hit them pretty good.

And yeah DL work your abs pretty but i really like to focus them. I have pretty nice abs because of it too. I recommend it. I've also heard of people doing a little bit of abs every work out but i haven't seen as much progress from that, personally [editline]8th December 2010[/editline]
I'm 185lbs and 6'0" and I still have some muscle left from when I played football but I gained quite a bit of fat and that's what I'm working on getting rid of.
That's a pretty good height weight ratio. It shouldn't take too much time for you to trim down and get some muscle if you stay with it
I don't have a barbell so squats and deadlifts are horribly ineffective :saddowns: pull-ups is all I can count on
I don't have a barbell so squats and deadlifts are horribly ineffective :saddowns: pull-ups is all I can count on
Doesn't your gym have a barbell?
he works out at home [editline]8th December 2010[/editline] and honestly, i still recommend doing ab exercises. A lot of my friends don't and my abs (lower abs especially) are able to lift almost twice as much as them.
