really you only have to clear solutions here:
1)get gloves
OR
2)work through it
Getting gloves wouldn`t really solve the problem, it`s only a temporary fix really, gloves get stinky and dirty as fuck and you look like a douche in them. I know what you mean though, when I started i had a problem with that too, I think the best exercises to get your hands used to it is pulls ups or chin ups on a rugged metal bar (not plastic or taped or anything, just one of the normal metal ones with creases n shit you see in the gym). Try that and I think after a few weeks you`ll already see a difference.
Whats the difference between protein and creatine?
I heard creatine is bad for you.
Protein is what is used to rebuild your muscles pretty much, creatine does a few things:
1) it keeps the muscles hydrated (that`s why people get a lot of water weight when they take it), it pretty much oversaturates them with water so they`re always well hydrated which helps with muscle building and such
2) it helps convert stored energy into useful energy so you can do more lifting and workout harder
Protein is always a safe, tested choice, but creatine, although there haven`t been very many weightlifting related studies that say anything bad about it, is a little bit less safe than protein I think since there haven`t been any very long long term effects studies. You just need to take a lot of water with it and follow the directions on the packaging and I think you`ll be fine.

You look like you have a pretty decent base to start going to the gym as of right now. How much do you weigh? I think you could get some really good results if you started training hard (compared to someone who looks like your last picture starting out at the same time as you).

I dont use any nitric oxides, steroids, or supplements besides whey protein. I do get a lot of lower vascular veins but they had receded in the other picture as i was mostly flexing my upper body, i do have lower abs but they are much smaller than what they should be (abs today, should be fixed in a couple weeks). I am only 17 but a lot of it has to do with my genetics, i am what you would say a super mesomorph.
my chest is also super tiny in this pic, it was taken a while ago.

oh my FUCK
that is some crazy ass veins dude
If you start working out really hard I think you could be a pretty decent competitor in some natural bodybuilding competitions: Low body fat, crazy vascularity
as long as you don't gain any fat of course

I'm in a similar situation. I get bad back pain when doing crunches, it gets so bad i have to stop even though i feel i could do a lot more. I'm gonna start doing Bicycle crunches and see if they help.

its winter so i havent done shit all for cardio, i usually do parkour and running in the summer. i started lifting like a half year ago, but i know my shit. wheres your pic?
Damn I need to get motivated to do some cardio! My shoulder is 90% back to normal after the tear and I'm back down the gym twice a day hitting the weights hard, I'll do weights all day because you get the buzz and the sense of accomplishing something, I've a good size, just under 13st and have some good definition going but there's still some body fat hanging around that needs to go but I can't motivate myself to do some cardio, it bores me too much. Plus I love my food too much!

I posted a few pics before but here I`ll repost them:
this one is a while ago, about 15 pounds difference from my weight now :

this one is more recent but still 5-10 pound difference from my weight now :

btw don`t use my hand size as a point of reference, my hands are fucking huge (bigger than anyone I have ever met, even 6"6 people lol)

how much do you weigh at the moment?
Pictures BTW, cropped due to looking like shit from this past weekend's nights!
Still have some bodyfat that needs shifting, just finding it hard to get the motivation to do some cardio.

currently at 160 lolololol lean mass
Are you short? I'm 160 and my arms are much "smaller" than yours. ( I put quotations in smaller because they probably aren't really smaller if you're a short guy. )
I really want to start bench pressing again. Last time I pressed I was in highschool, but without a gym membership I can't really do that now. I've recently been eating more, eating more meats etc in order to gain some weight. I'm the 17th percentile for people my height (6feet) so eating more would be a big step to gaining more mass.
Especially because I'm considering a federal law enforcement career, and being skinny isn't going to help.
Just ate an egg and bacon sandwich on whole wheat bread, in about 30 more minutes I'm going to continue my arms and abs project. I've pretty much put hard cardio on the back burner until I have a moderately built body, just running off calories isn't really what I need at this point.
Holy shit. Guys ^ is an example of how to do alot of shit for nothing. There is way too much volume in that, good luck growing at all.

well i wouldn't typically recommend getting work out gloves but if it becomes a big enough problem that might be something you may want to look into.
If you want to toughen up your hands try rock climbing and dead hangs. I recommend this more but i don't really know what you're experiencing so it's your call

Any chance you could afford a power cage or a bench and a bar for your home? Might be something you could ask for Christmas

The only way i really get cardio is from sports, i honestly find it very hard to get motivated to run for no reason. If you don't play any that involve running or cardiovascular ability you should try messing around and maybe you'll find something you like.
Overall, you look pretty well built and honestly winter isn't the best time to slim down or anything anyway

I have a bench(which is just a bench), which I mostly use as a sit ups. Might replace it to make room and make a bench bar. Which would be very very awesome.
that may be a good investment. I would look into it. Be sure to have someone spot you though

Yeah.
If you have no one to spot you, then stick with dumbbell exercises. That way you can just dump the weights.

kind of depends. If he got a power cage he could do it without a spotter safely but otherwise you are right

pisses me off how expensive all those things are though: I would love to be able to workout at home:
-my music
-no waiting for racks/bars
-don't have to drive anywhere
-don't have to give a fuck what that hot girl on the ellpitical things when I'm doing squats hahahah
but really all the bars and racks cost outrageous amounts of money so I guess I'll have to stick to the gym

BRILLIANT
I wish you told me of this plan before I just dropped out of university
[editline]14th December 2010[/editline]
Finals week this week for me, then uni is done for a few weeks
I`m still lifting hard each day, even when I have an exam lol
The way I see it, I`m doing mental work all day and I need to do something physical once every so often to not get completely bored
I have a question to pose to you gents
I'm looking to get a 6 pack, I've had babyfat on my stomach all my life but I lost a ton of weight but there's this stubborn fucking baby fat that won't leave. I've been doing a lot of P90x but it's not doing shit. Am I doing something wrong?
I lift everyday after school, bench of 230 pounds, squat of 445 pounds.
what is your split? Do you play any sports?

Played football and hockey, but those are both over, I'm a senior in high school.
For reference, I'm 6"2, 190 pounds.
