[QUOTE=VQ35HR;27111993]hehaoahaheheoahaha
make sure you have a spotter if you bench at home, lots of stories of kids dying while trying to bench at home without a spot[/QUOTE]
solution: dumbbells
[editline]31st December 2010[/editline]
ok maybe not
i wish i had a less awkward bench
That's not necessarily true either when you start doing dumbbell press around ninety or so on each side you prob want a spotter. i know i do
[editline]31st December 2010[/editline]
lol nice correction, bro
[editline]31st December 2010[/editline]
either V didn't know he was right or he didn't know he was a liar and scoundrel.
Either way i'm glad you've come to terms with it, buddy
of course not lol, but dumbbells are important, i prefer them for the stabilizer muskle recruitment, i dont have a lot of experience with the barbell
yeah dumbbells do help stability alot but barbell is important for more raw strength.
Each week i interchange them

I do both
best of both words bro
both on the same day?
[QUOTE=Binsky;27112437]both on the same day?[/QUOTE]
yep
for example
decline bench
flat bench
incline dumbbells
It's what I do too.
then the next chest day would be
incline bench
flat dumbbells
decline bench
[QUOTE=VQ35HR;27112506]yep

decline bench
flat bench
incline dumbbells[/QUOTE]
i don't really agree with doing that way. It's too much of the same motion.
If you want to maybe try something like bench, incline bench, pull overs (or straight flies), and incline flies
this is only helpful if you incorporate it with a chest and shoulder work out

I do a lot more than those those were just the things involving similar motions on benches for my chest day
the whole workout for chest day is
decline bench
flat bench
incline dumbbells
incline flies
cable crossovers
pushups
Is it solely chest day? You should prob work more than one muscle with chest. I assume you know this so i'm confuse and am assuming that i'm missing something.

started a new split
monday-chest
tuesday-back/abs
wednesday-arms
thursday-legs/abs
friday-shoulders/traps
wanted to change it up a bit, and this way I work hard enough to be sore for 2-3 days and get enough rest
you may want to get your arm day a little further from your chest day like put a rest day in there somewhere.
Otherwise, it seems like an ok split.

actually it's been like perfect concerning rest so far, you'd be surprised lol

happy new year's bros
Arright. Well then don't change it. Do what works best for you. I'm not you so idk what that is LOL
[editline]31st December 2010[/editline]
have fun, bro.
Hahahahahahahah
nice perfumly, thanks bro
How was everyone's New Year? New Year's Eve was a rest day for me and i'll start the new year with leg day.
Yesterday i played tennis with a friend until it started pouring rain and then we went to my house and watched New York drop the ball while i was the phone with my girlfriend.
I'm not too exciting but i enjoyed it. I hope you all had fun and were safe
I did forearm workout on New Years Eve, didn't really expect to get drunk later on :saddowns:
hopefully it won't fuck my gains over
got hella drunk yesterday at a huge party
went to sleep at 7 in the morning on some random couch
2 rest days now yay
I have 4 rest days basically.
All I can do is mess around with my dumbbells and my pushup bars to keep loose.

why so many
I use my high school gym to work out, and over winter break, we only have 3 days a week of open gym.
It's not as bad as Thanksgiving was this year, we had an entire week of snow days then, so I couldn't work out for like, 9 days. And I didn't have my dumbbells to keep loose either, so all my maxes went down.

damn. drop-in to your local gym?
How good is Anytime Fitness? There's one nearby and they give out week long free trials.
I can go back to school on Monday, though, so I'm just going to keep on using my dumbbells to keep loose until then.
Still, I need to plan for summer vacation.

Speaking of, I just won a two week free membership there.
The gym in my time is pretty good. They have a LOT of machines and some good ones at that. I'd consider working out there if I felt like paying the money. I really enjoy the fact that it is 24 hours because my schedule is so wack that I may be busy one hour and not the next and i could come and go as I please even if it means going in at 3 am.
The only thing it lacks is a good sauna. But other anytimes other than mine might have one.
lol the only down side is a lack of sauna? I've never been to a gym with a sauna

u poor bro??
yeah btw machines kind of suck bc they don't work those all important stability muscles.
and yeah apparently i'm poor

Two of my friends that I used to work out with would always go in the sauna afterward. They always tried to get me to join them, but I passed.
