had my first real workout since christmas break today. feels good.
That's rough. Mine is supposedly cosmetic, though, it does sometime affect me and i'll have moments where i have to rest. It's actually been a couple years for me, though. I think running and shit has really helped. I still think you can probably work out at the very least just do arm and leg exercises. I obviously don't know how you're feeling. I could work up a schedule for you if you'd like to try it and see how it feels
Oh I'd really appreciate it I could do exercise in high school ,but that was just PE and well thats not really anything.
had my first real workout since christmas break today. feels good.
Nice. What'd you work?
Nice. What'd you work?
bis tris traps and delts
Oh I'd really appreciate it I could do exercise in high school ,but that was just PE and well thats not really anything.
i can def do that for you. What kind of equipment does your HS have? [editline]5th January 2011[/editline]
bis tris traps and delts
Good shit. i like working all of those haha
i can def do that for you. What kind of equipment does your HS have? [editline]5th January 2011[/editline] Good shit. i like working all of those haha
Just a treadmill a friend gave me.
Good shit. i like working all of those haha
Yeah, I'm thinking of just doing maintenance leg work and not trying to make gains with my legs. Considering aesthetically speaking I consider them big enough and functionality speaking when am I ever going to have a need for a 315 lb deadlift in real life.
Just a treadmill a friend gave me.
Well, you're going to need more than a treadmill if you're wanting to do any body building. If you want to start running that may help your lungs become stronger [editline]5th January 2011[/editline]
Yeah, I'm thinking of just doing maintenance leg work and not trying to make gains with my legs.
Well, you're going to need more than a treadmill if you're wanting to do any body building. If you want to start running that may help your lungs become stronger
Well I can spare a bit of money for equipment anything specific? Oh and there is a local gym I can go to.
you'd prob rather go to the gym. Equipment can be a good investment but is pretty costly. It just depends on how much money you want to throw at it. Your general health is important too, though
And here's the closest thing to a picture of me before i started working out. Picture was like 2 years ago but I was essentially the same when I started lifting. (im the ugly guy on the right) compared to a more recent myspace douchebag looking picture [editline]6th January 2011[/editline]
i mean personally i want to be able to put coal in between my ass cheeks and after i flex them i expect diamonds to come out
I laughed harder than I should have.
stop talking down about yourself, perfumly. We're not the dicks at the judge others attractiveness thread. You're a good looking guy
Haha two years I wasn't. Jesus look at that hair and lack of jawline. I think I'm decent enough looking now but damn two years ago I would not have banged myself.

sup everyone. so, i got a bench, a barbell and some weights for the barbell ordered as a kind of a late christmas present, and i thought if some of you would like to briefly list me a few strong work-out techniques with only a barbell+weights and the bench (for bench presses at least!) so far i've come up with deadlifts, benchpresses as mentioned above and squats, and these 3 seem to cover much of the body muscles, but is there some other crucial work-out techniques that i should include? I'm not just looking for huge ass biceps, but just gain overall mass and size and strength! also the basics like keep your back straight when lifting et cetera, also im wondering how should i approach to working out, like in sets of, say ten? 10 squats, deadlifts, benchpresses. brake. another set of 10 of each of the work-outs, a brake, and maybe a third set? How's that?

How's that?
power cleans- squats- The Squat Setup. You’ll have to think about a lot of things at first. Study the tips below, start with an empty barbell, focus on your technique. Chest Up. The low bar position becomes easier with a low bar position. You can also tighten your upper-back better as a result. Forward Look. Look at the ceiling and your neck will hurt. Keep your head inline with your torso, but don’t start looking at your feet. Bar Position. Put the bar low, below the bone at the top of your shoulder-blades and on your back muscles – NOT on your spine. Grip Width. Narrow grip makes it easier to tighten your upper-back. Do lots of shoulder dislocations if this position feels uncomfortable. Thumbless Grip. Put your thumbs on top of the bar, next to your fingers. You’ll be able to keep your wrists inline with your forearms. Straight Wrists. Your back supports the weight, not your hands. Keep your wrists inline with your forearm, never bend them. Tight Upper-back. Bring your shoulder-blades together. Tightening the upper-back gives the bar a solid base to rest on. Elbows Back. Don’t let them come forward. Pushing your elbows back prevents elbows injuries. Back doesn’t mean “up” by the way. Foot Stance. A narrow stance doesn’t work for the low bar Squat. Heels should be shoulder-width apart. If your lower back rounds, go wider. Toes Out. Point your toes out at about 30 degrees. Your toes must always follow your knees or you’ll get knee injuries. deadlifts- Shoulder-blades over Bar. Put your shoulder-blades directly over the bar, shoulders in front of the bar. Your hips will be at the correct height. Bar Against Shins. Pull the bar up in a straight line. The closer the barbell to your shins, the better. No need to scrape your shins. Push From The Heels. Simple trick: curl your toes up. This automatically puts the weight on your heels. Bar Close to You. Keep the bar in contact with your body during the whole lift, rolling the bar over your shins & thighs. The closer the bar, the less stress on your lower back & the more weight you can Deadlift. Squeeze You Glutes. Bring your hips forward by pushing from the heels & squeezing your glutes hard. This prevents pulling with the lower back. Lock The Weight. The Deadlift ends when your knees & hips are locked. No need to roll the shoulders or hyper-extend the lower back. bench- Ten sets is a lot... I've heard of most people doing 5x5's where you do five sets of five reps [editline]5th January 2011[/editline]
Okay then I'll go to the gym. Oh and dunno if it matters ,but I'm a pretty skinny guy.
It shouldn't really matter. I'm skinny too and i started when i was super skinny, it just means you'll look good when you got some muscle [editline]5th January 2011[/editline]
Haha two years I wasn't. Jesus look at that hair and lack of jawline. I think I'm decent enough looking now but damn two years ago I would not have banged myself.
Ha well i think you look good in both. The muscles suit you well but regardless you're a unique individual and that's something to be celebrated.
you're a unique individual and that's something to be celebrated.
homo. [sp]jkilu[/sp] and I still got a ways to go before I think I can say I have any real muscle. Gimme another 4 months and 20-30lbs.
homo. [sp]jkilu[/sp] and I still got a ways to go before I think I can say I have any real muscle. Gimme another 4 months and 20-30lbs.
I no, bb. Yeah, but you've made serious progress and that's something to be proud of people are dicks and like to criticize. You're doing fine.
.....ZYZZ??? jk he uses melanotan II [editline]5th January 2011[/editline] oh and lately I've noticed the most aesthetic people at the gym don't go for the big weight, they just do lots of slow reps, but they look pretty easy
Haha im not a god.... yet! but yeah my tan is natural just like my physique im still skinny though need moar bulk! And the people who are aesthetic and are not lifting heavy but slow controlled reps, they are where they want to be and are maintaining :) Also I ahve an Idea guys, im thinking of making a Steam Group for us? so we can all jump on and have a chat and stuff, could be cool. You're skinny but you're going to be ripped when the muscle comes in. Just stay with it
Exactly what Binksy said, the good thing about us ectos is when the muscle does come along it isnt hidden under fat so we look good ;D
Exactly what Binksy said, the good thing about us ectos is when the muscle does come along it isnt hidden under fat so we look good ;D
What's an "ecto"? I've heard the term before, but I've never really knew what it meant.

How's that?
with benchpress, deadlifts and squats, you should also do curls, skullcrushers, shoulderpress and back rows ^those can all be done with just a bar and weights also, do 3 sets of 8-10 reps, and by the end of the last set you should be pretty much failing to put the weight up breathe out when you are doing the hard part of your exercise (pushing the bar up in benchpress, curling the bar up when curling, etc.) and breathe in on the negatives take it slow and remember that proper form is the most important part, good luck [editline]6th January 2011[/editline]
HARDCORE haha yeah it's great. I'm prob going again in two weeks with the same guys with my new shoes i just ordered [editline]5th January 2011[/editline] i do a bit of both, though. The climbing wall is more accessible during the week and outdoor is for weekends [editline]5th January 2011[/editline] also, you 'mirin my polar bear pajama pants i'm wearing :smug:
mirin' [editline]6th January 2011[/editline]
Haha im not a god.... yet! but yeah my tan is natural just like my physique im still skinny though need moar bulk! I've heard the term before, but I've never really knew what it meant.
fast metabolism low body fat very good for working out, because once you bulk (eat a lot), to a certain point you will be gaining much more muscle than fat vs. someone who is like me and gains fat easily
perf how long you been working out for?
4 months now. I just ordered a multi, some creatine, and a pre workout supp to see if I reap better results using those. We'll see in the short future.
isn't creatine bad for you?
4 months now. I just ordered a multi, some creatine, and a pre workout supp to see if I reap better results using those. We'll see in the short future.
lift heavy take a multi, lulz taking all those things will probably help you quite a bit but the general consensus from people who have taken all those at the same time is that it makes you feel like shit creatine bloats you preworkout makes your stomach hurt and shit
fast metabolism low body fat very good for working out, because once you bulk (eat a lot), to a certain point you will be gaining much more muscle than fat vs. someone who is like me and gains fat easily
Oh...well I wouldn't say I qualify as that. I used to be a pretty big guy, but I dropped about 20 kgs of body fat in the past year, I don't have any photos of it, but I was more concerned with loosing body fat than gaining muscle, but now since I don't have that much body fat to worry about I decided to put on the muscle.
