I know that, I still want to know why you even said the fat burning thing in the beginning, I kind of missed the point.
to help you? i was just saying that you can somewhat operate at a deficit and your body will pick up the slack and burn the fat.
[editline]7th January 2011[/editline]
you don't want too large of a deficit though because your body does need more energy to work efficiently.
*blinks eyes*
Uh, right? What would be a too large defict? I have a very hard time believing I have much defict, since I'm having 3000 calories a day and my basic calorie consumption is like 2400.
But then again, I know nothing about calorie stuff since I've only just begun taking note of these kinds of things. For me a "normal human's" calorie intake is something like 2000 calorie

i think you'll be fine with 3000 and yes most people agree that 2000 is the 'normal' amount
Your muscles will not grow on a calorie deficit. You can make strength gains but you will not make muscle mass while losing fat.
You can gain muscle and lose fat but you will probably gain weight overall.
Fat is not DIRECTLY converted into muscle, but it is converted into energy, which can be used to build muscle.
So basically my food plan is not fucked up, and if I switch biceps and chest with each other, that on e is fine too?
What do you guys think about protein before bed? Good, bad? Will it just turn to fat or what? I see a lot of answers when I google it, but I don't know for sure. I'm just downright starving and I have this delicious 15g protein bar next to me.

you should take slow digesting protein before bed, like casein, milk or egg protein
your body needs those nutrients over night, pretty much all bodybuilders take some casein before bed
but if you have whey isolate it`s kind of useless unless you just worked out

nice, how much does it have exactly?
3-5 grams per pound.
my new tennis shoes came in today now i'm just waiting for climbing shoes. Also, i am now officially poor.
Back, bi's, and forearms today. Hope my body can handle doing them after climbing so recently
Going to get the referral to the orthopedic specialist on Wednesday from my GP so I can get my knee operated on by the NHS to sort out my meniscus tear.
Proper form squats and general proper leg use here I come.
So do you want to go for more of a bartender look? (working just upper body)
Yeah. I'm starting to run in summer.
My calves are so incomprehensibly sore from running. Glad I started running again.
My calves are so incomprehensibly sore from running. Glad I started running again.
Nice, bro. I need to start running again, my excuse is that i run enough when i play tennis but that's more running side to side and not too much running forward.
3-5 grams per pound.
pretty good, but as I recall creatine monohydrate supplements have 5g and you take them 4 times a day. so 20g from a week then just 5 g a day after that lol
Yeah. I'm starting to run in summer.
Honestly, running is a lot different from actually working out legs. It's very important to make sure that muscularly your legs are on par with your upper body or you can have posture/spinal problems because your legs are literally the foundation of your body. I'd strongly recommend working legs

just found a study that in a controlled test group, there was a group that only dieted, another ran and dieted, and a third ran dieted and worked out
the dieting group lot 14 lbs over the time, the diet and running lost 15 lbs, and working was something like 20 or more
just shows that cardio isn`t all that people think it is
i couldn't agree more. Running is good for you in the sense that it helps your heart and lungs but honestly for losing fat you only burn the amount of calories that you ran. Whereas, with lifting you burn the calories the you worked off at the gym and your body creates more muscle which requires more energy to operate so you literally burn more fat while you do practically nothing
so how's everyone's weekend plan looking like? rest days for me
leg day today for me. It's like three in the morning here, i should really sleep
Just woke up to see 67kg/147 pounds on my scales.
Feels good man. :buddy:
weekend is my rest time, im gonna be hitting the Big Day Out is anyone here going?? (Australia)
Shoulders for tomorrow. Pretty good stuff.
Gonna do shoulders today and Back/Bis tomorrow.
Upper body workout tomorrow, not sure about Sunday but probably a morning jog/run for some cardio.
Did shoulders+abs today. This weekend off will be nice.
I think my abs are growing unevenly... Like one side is around a cm difference vertically compared to the other side. Any one know anything about this?

if you can fully see your abs and they look weird, they are probably going to stay that way
ab shape is pre-determined, aka disregard workingout acquire genetics
very many pros have weirdly shaped abs, sorry but not much you can do
[editline]8th January 2011[/editline]
oh wait what do you mean by vertically? if one side is bigger/more bulging out than another than that's fixable
Reading this thread makes me think that working all muscles every day I do a workout is a bad idea.
