How many dips can you guys do? I'm pretty fit, but I can only do 1.
What would be a good routine with no equipment. No money to buy anything, no job. I need a routine that can be what I can do in a empty room, and things that I can do found in a regular household.
Thank you sir. [editline]08:36AM[/editline] 200, when I first started I was aiming to lose a lot of weight but I ended up just losing a ton of body fat instead.
that's pretty good man. you're 200 and deadlift 405, i'm 150 and i deadlift 300, high five! All I don't believe is, how firerain, who weighs 40 pounds less than you has apparently a 400 pound deadlift??? [editline]10:43PM[/editline]
question, which is better? in the sense of safety and muscle building, air machines or free weights?
Definitely free weights. They work your stabilizer muscles and such. [editline]10:48PM[/editline]
Excuse me, how is creatine not worth it in the long run? About your "rep range", got any actual scientific proof? Because is it right that different amounts of reps do affect your muscles in different ways, scientists are still debating on this matter, which is why I find it very doubtful that you should have discovered the secret. [editline]08:28AM[/editline] You do realize why you make split programs, and not fullbody, right?
Creatine causes cardiovascular problems, increase the chance of heart problems and many other possible long term side effects. Search it up on google, I can't be arsed to find all the links but if you search it up you'll find tons and tons of stuff. And no, I don't have scientific proof but what I said has been the basis of belief for rep ranges for years and years. If you don't want to believe it, go ahead, but it just makes sense. High reps low weight vs. low reps high weight is like comparing running to doing squats or something. When running, you don't really gain much muscle but you do help your endurance, and with squats you get maximum strength gains. I haven't discovered any 'secret', it's just what's been believed by anyone and everyone for a long time, if you want to prove it wrong go ahead. [editline]10:53PM[/editline]
i found a photo of myself years ago wearing a retarded hat, so i thought i'd make a progress pic. "Before" was in 2008, i wasn't using the gym at all besides doing situps and lifting 9kg dumbells in my room from time to time. "After" is now, using the gym for 1 year, and just started going hard out the last few months. (the top pic in "after" is around 8 months old) http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/6827/beforenafter.png right now i really need to start gaining weight because i only weigh 63kg so i'm trying to eat as much protein as possible, which is really hard for me.
Dude, you have amazing genetics. Gain some weight and keep working out and you'll get JACKED!

fffffuuuuu this thread make me really wanna hit the gym. my one-year gym card ran out a few months ago and I can't afford a new one right now. I go out for long jogs regularily but haven't really done any proper muscle-building since the card ran out.. I usually put the blame on my coursework whenever the thought of working out comes to mind. Anyone got any tips for getting back into the game?
nice. did you measure arms? if so, how many inches?

People who go to the gym a lot have really abnormal top heavy body's. Just do natural exercise using your own body weight.
I squat all the time. I'm not gonna lie and say that not very many people do it, but still, there are the exceptions.
But you can squat at home
Do you know what squatting is Clever Balls
Yes. [editline]01:49AM[/editline] And you can do it at home, for free.
You should work out every other day, you need rest days in between or you will just fuck up your system and you body will burn out
I started the P90X videos at the beginning of September and as of right now I've lost five inches off my waist line. Just do the exercises and don't load your body full of shit and you'll start to lose weight. It's not that hard. And I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, so no one deserves to bitch that P90X is too hard to keep doing.
How many dips can you guys do? I'm pretty fit, but I can only do 1.
WTF. No you're not fit then. You should be able to do at least 10 dips. Got a joint problem or something?
Dude, you have amazing genetics. Gain some weight and keep working out and you'll get JACKED!
cheers. this post actually motivated me more than you think lol.
Creatine causes cardiovascular problems, increase the chance of heart problems and many other possible long term side effects. You will not, I repeat, will not, find a legitimate study that proves Creatine supplementation is harmful, beyond it making the kidneys work harder, which happens from a increased food intake anyway, so it can't actually be pinned to Creatine supplementation. It's the most researched performance enhancer ever. Like I'm not even exaggerating there, they were researching Creatine supplementation in 1912. Today Creatine Monohydrate is probably one of the safest and most cost-effective supplements on the market. Check out Pubmed. Everything that's put creatine in a bad light has been Anecdotal. i.e "my friend's asshole climbed out and bit him on the face, and he said he had been taking creatine, so it must be teh creatinze!" The biggest problem with creatine is idiots who believe "more is more and more is better" and end up giving themself a bad case of bloat and gas. Anything over 5g of creatine monohydrate is useless and will be converted to waste. That said, unless your a performance athlete of some kind, you probably won't benefit all THAT much from Creatine supplementation. It can be helpful in breaking through plateus though. I'd say if your a beginner and/or strapped for cash, your better off spending your money on more food.
cheers. this post actually motivated me more than you think lol.
No problem man. At least you're using what you have and trying to work hard-I know a few people who have great genetics- full sixpack, big biceps, defined chest, and they don't even work out and never want to. If they ever did, they'd most likely get very good gains. I always have more trouble gaining muscle than most of my friends, yet I still gain more than most of them because I work so much harder. Seriously though I can't wait to see some progress pics of you when you really start hitting the gym hard and gaining weight, also remember KEEP MOTIVATED! Just picture what you could be like if you hit the gym hard! [editline]03:35AM[/editline]
You should work out every other day, you need rest days in between or you will just fuck up your system and you body will burn out
Your muscles need rest days. So if you workout chest and tris one day and legs and back the next, it's fine, as long as you're not doing one muscle group 2 days in a row. Also, there are no long term studies done with creatine and working out. The two that I have read said that in prolonged ingestion creatine can cause cardiovascular problems. Now, I know you're supposed to take creatine on and off but many people do not. Another point is, creatine can have some harmful byproducts if not treated properly in the manufacturing process, and since lately, there has been a study done by Consumer reports (here is an article about it, you can find the study anywhere http://www.healblog.net/medical/metal-contaminants-found-in-protein-drinks /) that shows many of today's protein powders have unsafely high numbers of metals such as lead in them, why couldn't creatine, which is easier to mess up, have been contaminated in the manufacturing process as well.
Yes. [editline]01:49AM[/editline] And you can do it at home, for free.
:downs: Everyone totally has a barbell 200+ lbs of plates and a power cage in their home. [editline]04:17AM[/editline]
How many dips can you guys do? I'm pretty fit, but I can only do 1.
Lol you are probably not fit then. I can do 16 dips and I've only been working out hard for a couple of months.
Hey guys I have a question I'm 14 years old and what I'm lifting now is Deadlift: 105 lbs Bench: 135 lbs Squat: 155 lbs Is this good considering I'm 5'4" and 140 lbs?
Why are you squatting more than you deadlift
To be honest I don't know how much weight I put on I got into weight lifting 2 months ago cause of football pre season and they never told me how much the bar weighs and to tell how much weight I'm putting on. They just told me to put on how much weight you can do.
Here's my new workout schedule: Bench Press: 100 lbs Squat: 85 lbs Dumbbells: 90 lbs Pushups: 45 Pullups: 35 Vertical Pullups: 20 (I'm 6'5 & 197 lbs fyi) [editline]09:35PM[/editline] hopefully it's good 'nuff [editline]09:35PM[/editline] for me
Why are you benching more than you deadlift
Fixed. What the fuck. If your chest is stronger than your entire fucking back and legs, there's something seriously wrong.
Fixed. What the fuck. If your chest is stronger than your entire fucking back and legs, there's something seriously wrong.
Some people only workout their top body and not their bottom, for reasons I don't know why.

[editline]04:45AM[/editline]
Fixed. What the fuck. If your chest is stronger than your entire fucking back and legs, there's something seriously wrong.
He probably just started working out and since most people do at least some form of chest exercise while they are growing up, many people do not work out their back, therefore explaining why his chest might be a bit stronger. Once he starts doing deadlifts regularly it will quickly and surely bypass his bench though.
Here's my new workout schedule: Bench Press: 100 lbs Squat: 85 lbs Dumbbells: 90 lbs Pushups: 45 Pullups: 35 Vertical Pullups: 20 (I'm 6'5 & 197 lbs fyi) [editline]09:35PM[/editline] hopefully it's good 'nuff [editline]09:35PM[/editline] for me
Why are your squats so low dumbbells are not a workout What in the tits is the difference between a pull up and a vertical pull up
