not sure dude, if it`s actually gyno you could try some estrogen reducing pills, but I think the only surefire way is surgery or is it just puffy nipples? cause if it is, I think if you lose fat it would look way better [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] makes sense [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] da fuk is that? [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] I think the rule for warming up with weights was something like 65% of the heaviest weight you plan to do with that exercise or something (not too sure about the precentage but something like that) so I guess for pushups do like around half of the reps you try to do??? The basis of this is the fact that you don't want to get too tired but want a decent stretch
Its 25% actually. I usually do it for 15 reps to warm up.
Okay for the puffy nipples problem I'll just wait until Cutting season. I really hope it's not gyno because I can't afford the 5000$ surgery until I'm like 20+ and have a decent income. But I don't think it is because I don't feel any kind of lump behind my nipple. For push-ups I'll just do like 30-40 then.
If you have puffy nipples, it's probably because your fat. Just saying, I have them too, but there not that bad. Warm-ups for me, I only do like 2 or 3 reps but at heavier weight then you guys. It's a warm-up, you don't want to tire yourself out.
is anyone doing the stronglift 5x5 method?
is anyone doing the stronglift 5x5 method?
i've thought about doing that. I'd like feedback on it before i try it
yeah same here. i might try it for 12 weeks but i'd like some more feedback. i've read a little in the 200 pages .pdf http://s3.amazonaws.com/StrongLifts/stronglifts-5x5-report.pdf the thing is i don't really want to gain much weight, i'd rather maintain my current weight, just with more strength
Its 25% actually. I usually do it for 15 reps to warm up.
for me, less than 50% of the weight doesn't really get me warmed up [editline]17th January 2011[/editline]
i've thought about doing that. I'd like feedback on it before i try it
the thing with all the powerlifting routines is that they mostly build strength and the argument that some powerlifters are extremely muscular only proves that they have more fast twitch fibers. which means that some people have more slow twitch fibers (respond better to high reps), some people have fast twitch (better to low reps) or an even mix of both. I was reading something interesting about these, I think it was: Take bench for example. Take 80% of your one rep max. If you can do over 12, you have more fast twitch, if you do 4-7 you have mostly slow twitch and around 10 is an even mix. Remember, this could be different for each muscle I'm going to try this tomorrow oh and here's more info copy and pasted "Slow Twitch (Type I) The slow muscles are more efficient at using oxygen to generate more fuel (known as ATP) for continuous, extended muscle contractions over a long time. They fire more slowly than fast twitch fibers and can go for a long time before they fatigue. Therefore, slow twitch fibers are great at helping athletes run marathons and bicycle for hours. What Causes Muscle Fatigue? Fast Twitch (Type II) Because fast twitch fibers use anaerobic metabolism to create fuel, they are much better at generating short bursts of strength or speed than slow muscles. However, they fatigue more quickly. Fast twitch fibers generally produce the same amount of force per contraction as slow muscles, but they get their name because they are able to fire more rapidly. Having more fast twitch fibers can be an asset to a sprinter since she needs to quickly generate a lot of force. " [editline]17th January 2011[/editline] By the way this info above in the bold really helps you train once you figure it out, since you know what your muscles will respond to
How many push-ups should I do for my warm-up set?
oh and dude do those sore nipples hurt at all? was reading something about that and high estrogen levels and how it doesn't have to be gyno but you can still do estrogen reducing shit
Did pinpulls recently, got 475. Got my eyes on the prize - 500 lb deadlift
oh and dude do those sore nipples hurt at all? was reading something about that and high estrogen levels and how it doesn't have to be gyno but you can still do estrogen reducing shit
What do you mean by hurt? If you mean similarly to DOMS then no, and they don't really hurt if I press on them either. Well If I do it really hard they do but that's kinda supposed to happen.
chest and shoulder day today. Shit's gonna be so cash. My legs are raped from leg day. Feels good, man
Been working out again for a over a month now. Dropped fast food, soda, and most junk food out of my diet. Lost about 10 pounds so far and I'm buying some weights soon too. Feels good.
chest day today IT'S RAPE TIME
Last week of P90X begun for me! Taking this day off and moving the schedule foward by one since my butt muscles hurt from the leg excercise I did the day before yesterday. Now I need to start planning the actual moves I've gotta do when I begin my own workout plan next week.

January 17th: the day of the chest [editline]17th January 2011[/editline]
Elaborate. EDIT: @Seith
it sounds like he's telling you to keep track of your starting strength so you can monitor your progress idk for sure though
Changing workout from 3 day split, gonna do full body routine every day, see maybe that will get me some better gains.
I doubt that'll help, usually full body routine works worse than 3 day split AFAIK. Your body also needs its rest, so working out every day mightn't be too good of an idea
Changing workout from 3 day split, gonna do full body routine every day, see maybe that will get me some better gains.
EVERY DAY?! No way that's gonna work man, you're just gonna end up overtraining yourself and then you'll have no energy for anything. [editline]17th January 2011[/editline] also 6 day split > all
fuck just noticed that my gym card will expire within 20 days. i don't want to pay $600 for another year. fuck.
Sorry i meant every second day, i was rushing to post this as i was running off to the gym. Besides i was always quite poor at wording things anyway.
Fuuu I missed my workout today. Post pictures of women who work out to cheer me up. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Had a p.good workout for chest, lower body was okay. I finally repped something over 225 for bench, I did 240x2 for like 10 sets. Squats I maxed out kinda, did 385 pretty easy, could probably do more.
Weighed in at 166 today. 8lbs more than last week. Woop woop woop. And bleach you're awesome. [editline]18th January 2011[/editline]
also 6 day split > all
Yeah maybe if you're on roids. Your body is going to turn into a vagina. [editline]18th January 2011[/editline]
January 17th: the day of the chest
Hey me too
I'm looking to start up a routing as soon as I find a gym buddy. How would you suggest doing a 3 day split? I was thinking something along the lines of Chest/Triceps, lower body, back/biceps/shoulders or something like that. Any suggestions? Also if it matters I'm 6'3" about 195lbs and im looking to gain mass/strength, not too worried about endurance. Also does anyone ever lose circulation in their arms/shoulders when they have a barbell on their shoulders regardless of the weight?
Benched 225 today :D
