Alright. Going to start getting back into shape. Right now I'm 285, though you wouldn't be able to tell. I've got a rather active job, and thus far it's allowed me to at least start getting a little muscle back and lose some fat. Once I get a little bit more motivation and it warms up a little (absolutely hate running in the cold) I'll start up the power 90 series. Then move on to the p90x, then to the p90x+. I've already stopped eating 3 hours+ before I sleep and trying to drink more water.
It puts a whole new meaning to playing with yourself :clint:
sounds cool.

What? You've never ever done squats in your entire life? We still do them all the time in school.

FUCK my terrible bicep genetics my forearms are just a few cm away from being as big as my bis god damnit should I stop hitting my forearms so hard?
yeah can't wait. i'm all excited
Alright i have a problem that I have been dealing with for awhile actually, maybe you can help solve it. I am 19 about 5'10 and weight 140 lbs. I am a beginner at starting to work out but I have been on and off and plan on staying on it once i get back to college. My problem. I am a pretty skinny guy for my height. skinny arms, but i have some unwanted fat on my lower abdominals and around the back along with the core. I don't want to lose weight because I am skinny enough how it is. Instead I want to know a way to burn off the fat and build muscle so i gain wait in muscle and somehow shape the gut into a flat stomach? Any ideas? when i was at college i got really into working out 5-6 times a week. one day would be arms, and back. the next day would be for chest, abs, and lower areas of back....everyday i would run at least 3 miles on the treadmill. I dont really watch what i eat because I kinda enjoy eating whatever i think looks good, but i try and not eat too much. I also have stopped drinking pop and mainly only drink water for a year now. What I mainly want my goal to be this year is to weight 150 or 155. I mainly try focusing on building muscle on my skinny arms and pecks...but the random gut around the belly button i need to lose? Help?
Rowing Machines > Everything
also my friend i go lift with is jacked and he takes creatine and he has been letting me use it now too after every workout.
Rowing Machines > Everything
Rowing machine is just good for back endurance and cardio. It's not really good for weightlifting or body building
Wooo I did 234% x bodyweight (64kg) deadlift today. That was the fifth time I ever do DL. My technique was probably horrible though.
Wooo I did 234% x bodyweight (64kg) deadlift today. That was the fifth time I ever do DL. My technique was probably horrible though.
wait what if 64 is more than double your weight than your bodyweight is around 30 kilograms? wtf? isn't that way less than 100 pounds
wait what if 64 is more than double your weight than your bodyweight is around 30 kilograms? wtf? isn't that way less than 100 pounds
His bodyweight is 64kg.

Help?
First things first, make sure you're getting plenty of protein. Eat plenty of lean meats like skinless chicken breast, fish, that don't have a lot of fats (and in the case of fish, mostly good fats). Beans are an excellent source of protein too, chock full of fiber as well. Red meats like beef and pork are great in moderation, but don't overdo them. Nuts are a good source of protein, but they have lots of calories. They have good fats in them too, so have a handful as a snack. Protein shakes are not necessary, but if you want them, whey protein is generally considered the best protein. There are protein blends (I've heard Myofusion's good), just read up on the different types of protein and decide for yourself. Cut out junk food, it's okay to treat yourself once in a while, but don't let it be part of your diet. This goes doubly for fast foods like McDonalds. You don't need to focus too much on the losing fat side of dieting, you'll naturally lose fat as you gain muscle. Do you have access to a gym? I'm writing this on the spot, but it should be good for getting some muscle mass: Chest/triceps/abs workout: Situps (Go for as many reps as you can, and if you want, you can also hold a light weight up to your chest but don't go heavy) Twisting situps (Same goes for this) Bench press DB bench press (mix it up and do incline once in a while) Close grip bench press Scullcrushers Legs: Squats Dead lift or Romanian dead lift (Make sure you're using good form, these are really good exercises, but they're hard on your back) (Also, I don't do both on the same day, but every leg day I alternate between them. Calf raises Back/biceps/abs: Bent over rows, one armed rows, bench rows, seated rows, there are all kinds of rows. Pick one. Lat pulldowns (pullups if you're strong enough) Shrugs (A lot of people do these on shoulder days, but they work your traps which I consider back) Crunches Oblique sidebends (as with any core exercise, don't go too heavy, your back will thank you) Shoulders: I wouldn't recommend working your shoulders too hard. Your shoulder joint is very injury prone, and many of the workouts for them are really hard on it. You shoulders get a workout when you do bench press. Do some flies if you want.
I'm trying to create a list of the most common and best bodyweight exercises for my friend who "wants to stop being a fat fuck" in his words. So far I've got: Push ups Sit ups Leg raisers seated dips pull ups planks Anything else I should add?
actual dips crunches
What bf% should a skinnyfat cut down to before beginning a bulk? I'm about 18% right now, and although many people tell skinnyfats to just bulk first, i hate having the fat i have now, having more would suck ass. 5'7, 140lbs.
bulk first
actual dips
Explain?
bulk first
sure? im cutting right now, used to be 180lbs, but i want to lose maybe 10 more pounds, especially because most of my fat goes to my legs so i got fat legs/ass and it looks disproportionate as fuck.
Who gives a fuck what you look like at this point? You're gonna get fat anyway when you actually have a successful bulk. Worry about shedding the fat when you won't look like shit without it. Because your body needs excess calories to gain weight. If you eat excess calories you pack on both fat and muscle no matter what the quality of food you eat is. I'm clean bulking right now and miraculously legitimately gained 8 lbs over the course of 7 days by eating 5000 calories a day and not much of it is fat yet, but we'll see how it goes over the next couple of months.
