Registering, downloading. I am all about gigantic slugfests and fun clusterfucks of massive amounts of players.
Well that was fun, loadsa high concentration of players on most objectives under attack. I wish I had more hard-drive space available for glorious recordings with Starship Troopers theme attached to them, because I've never seen such lightshow of tracers, explosions, and aircrafts zipping overby since BC2.
This game looks fucking incredible, but I'm not sure my five year old computer that runs Windows XP and has 256 megabytes of ram can run this very well.
Low settings wont help much if you don't have a very good CPU. I have for an example an i5 CPU running at 3,2 GHz, and it's not enough for the game. I am gonna upgrade at some point for a i5 3570k, that might help a bit.
I'm running it all on high with i5 3300k 3.3ghz, Geforce 560 gtx, 8 gig ram, Windows 7 64 bit. I admit I have some frame drops but not to bad, though PhysX and my pc hate each other with a passion. Plus my Hard drive is dying right now and I can't afford a new one, so it keeps freezing now and then. [editline]20th January 2013[/editline]
OP is Alex Crawford This must be how people imagined the future of gaming when Battlefield 1942 came out
Who is Alex Crawford? I wish Battlefield 2142 was this good, I could never run it and every server lagged like a bitch.
Who is Alex Crawford?
Someone who also randomly stumbled upon a huge convoy, followed them, and ended up filming a massive, decisive military conquest
Time to download this.
This happens every now and again on Waterson because the outfits are so big. [IMG_thumb]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/1099143090314721787/0A35D4C6F892CA549F40E6CA176E4947C77F2EC5/[/IMG_thumb]
Largest I saw was actually a combined force of Vanu and TR attacking my outfit at The Crown. Consisted of like 30 tanks, 6 Galaxies, and a whole lot more. They were barely attacking each other, it was many focused on us, and we were just a squad of like 10 people plus maybe 5-10 more random players. The battle lasted nearly 5 hours but we never lost The Crown. It was fucking magnificent.
I feel like every siege on the crown is like this.
When was this? I saw something similar. Masses of tanks, taking position after position.
It was Friday night around 12am UK time, on Waterson, it's a US server I think, cos my friends all play there.
I wish PS2 ran better for me. I played the shit out of beta and saw a lot of these. One time a friend and I were holding the line on Esamir as infantry when all the sudden the line pushed forward. We rushed up with a bunch of randoms and if you looked left and right you could see dozens of infantry and vehicles moving up and shooting. Then we took a hill and assaulted a tower. Was some real Enemy at the Gates shit.
i can't wait to get my new computer.

I'll admit that the frames will dip pretty noticeably in the thickest of battles, but it has always ran at a playable fps and the average battle would give me anywhere between 30 and 60 fps.
Immediately after seeing this video, I went to the store on Steam, got out my credit card, then saw that it was Free to play. I now need to change my pants.
The only issue I find is I know they need to make money some how, but there weapons and weapon mods are a bit pricey, and the default weapons seem pretty meh.
I would play this game soooo much, but I can only run it on low and it still lags, and I never have a clue what I'm doing.
Yeah I run the game fine until I get in a big battle and then my framerate drops to the point that it's basically unplayable. They really need to work on optimizing this game.
The servers I join are boring I try to go to the most populated place I can find and its just insta death as soon as I leave the spawn room Its exciting but there is a lot of respawning
I sometimes join the Purple Wednesdays over at the Rock Paper Shotgun forum. They'll easily have at least 100 guys on during that evening.
I'll try find some popular servers and post them here
Anyone need a Lib gunner on TR Waterson?
My main two problems are that I don't have enough "vehicle money" or whatever to spawn anything except a tiny little ATV that explodes with 1 bullet, so if I want to go anywhere, I have to hitch a ride with someone. And nobody ever pulls over, which means I have to chase those big 12-person troop carriers (with only 1 person in them) for miles and miles before they decide to stop. And the other problem is that when I'm at a base being attacked, I really can't leave the spawnroom without dying no matter what I do. Which is weird, because I see all of my teammates running out and taking cover, but the second I leave there's a tank waiting - that for some reason didn't fire on anyone else. [editline]21st January 2013[/editline] Seriously, I have a 1:12 ratio. Is it because I haven't spent enough money on points and weapons?
It's true, the default things are awful, I end up dying all the time, I'm not bad at shooters, but if you're going vs some modified guys, then you're in trouble, cos you have nothing compared to them.
why the fuck do people do this? whenever i get a sunderer i always chill for a while to make sure if anyone wants to cruise with me they are able.
Downloading now. My Intel i3 and gtx 560 should be more than enough to play this.
why the fuck do people do this? whenever i get a sunderer i always chill for a while to make sure if anyone wants to cruise with me they are able.
it's good when people do that, get into the action a little easier rather than getting lost which I did a lot of.
My friends and I once loaded up a couple Libs to take on an NC column about this size. We had that gun that devastates armor, no idea what it's called but we christened it the Tankfucker, and we were doing okay until a squad of Reavers showed up. Soltech Reavers are terrifying, those guys know their shit.
That's actually not that large for Planetside 2. I once was in an army about thrice that size, was insane. Took over half the map before we had any competition. Once we did though, oh dear god it was brutal. [editline]22nd January 2013[/editline] Actually, after seeing the whole video, the army I was in was more like ten times larger.
This kind of thing is a fairly regular occurrence on Miller since it's one of the more populated servers, we had a combined operation between around 30 TR outfits a few weeks ago with a few hundred players. Ended with us coordinating a massive drop pod attack that went and crashed most of the people in the area. Also an enemy outfits perspective of the night, attempting to take out our Galaxies. :v:
I know my HD5750 could handle it, however my 1.87ghz dual core won't. Bottlenecking like maddddddddd
I have nearly the same setup, I'm with you man.
Part 2 and 3, as you can see that massive convoy I followed did not survive, the enemy team had some good tactics to get rid.
