In all honesty the only good rap is Run DMC.
Nickelback and Creed, as can be seen on my Last.fm profile right below my post count.
"Your musical compatibility with SeaInvasion is VERY HIGH Music you have in common includes Pavement, The Smiths, My Bloody Valentine, Sleater-Kinney and Sonic Youth." k pavement is dope as fuck and so is sleater-kinney but that doesn't excuse anything!!
All those bands are dope as fuck.
For some people music is more about style and appearance than the actual sound of it.
Queen is fucking awful.
Baha BAHAHAHA Kids these days don't know a fucking thing about talent and hard fucking work. Anyone can talk into a microphone and pay some dude $2,000 to make a bass-riddled track under it, bam instant hit song. But no, let's put aside lifetimes of practice practice practice with your instrument or voice, more practice, music theory and composition, and sheer fucking talent, to instead listen to the same in-and-out-in-3-years artists come and go What ever happened to Kesha (no, she doesn't get the fucking $)? She disafuckingpeared. Gaga is fading (albeit she can sing and compose somewhat), Weezy fucking quit all together, all this modern trash is fading fast. Most popular acts are just dj's and mc's and whatever you call them because it's a lot easier making a cool sounding dubstep song on your MacBook than it is to spend your entire life perfecting your instrument/form, starting a band, and hopefully making it big. Then again, a generation who only pops MDMA and listens to 3-note songs while high as a fucking kite can only expect the same lack of care from their idols. I'm not saying I don't like modern electronic music, it's neat. But there is no fucking way Nicki Minaj even registers on the scale compared to, say, Queen, Zeppelin, The Beatles, fucking Jefferson Airplane. People with the will to change the world by music, not make a quick buck and brag about their swag Give me your iPod, let me fill it with magic, and never stop listening to real music. Maybe one day your head will slide out of your ass long enough to get through a Queen song, and you'll just keel over and die from being so wrong all your life
great job dude you just justified Cathedral's post
could you be any more of a stereotypical "I'm 12 and I hate what my generation has done to music!" Youtube comment type?
no-one even suggested nicki minaj was on the same "scale" as any of those bands so i don't know why you are getting so out of shape. judging by his last.fm i think he's pretty clear on the "real" music front and doesn't need some lunatic freaking out on FP to tell him what isn't and what is good music
LOL [editline]9th October 2012[/editline]
Kids these days
pretty sure i'm older than you dude
vs Songs are only catchy because they're easy to remember, no effort made on, oh I don't know, mastering the guitar like Page did. ~1-2-3 to the Nicki Minaj blink~ [editline]9th October 2012[/editline]
pretty sure i'm older than you dude
How little that means is hilarious
no-one's even comparing those two so i don't know what yr point is???
Stupid Hoe is such a god awful song I mean I don't mind her previous work but seriously what the fuck
How little that means is hilarious
you're calling everyone kids even though you're like 19 years old you're not more mature than everyone else just because you ransacked your dad's CD collection
In all honesty the only good rap is Run DMC.
http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2008/11/18/116-black-music-that-black-people-dont-listen-to-anymore/
I'm comparing those two to show you how fucked up popular music has become
I'm comparing those two to show you how fucked up popular music has become
hey dingus there was a lot of awful popular music back then as well
I'm comparing those two to show you how fucked up popular music has become
if you like guitars and white dudes there's plenty of white dude guitar rock around
songs like this is 10x better than Nicki Minaj's "Stupid Hoe". I mean feel that fucking rhythm
hey dingus there was a lot of awful popular music back then as well
Comparable to the amount of it this decade? I think not. Atleast a good number of the big acts WERE awesome. Hell ABBA is leagues above Wokka, even though I don't reeeeally like that discodancin' music. Drug induced love songs > Bragging about how much swag you have [editline]9th October 2012[/editline]
if you like guitars and white dudes there's plenty of white dude guitar rock around
Sure isn't popular though. And believe me, I listen to a lot of that music. Hell, nobody knows who The Sword is, but eeeeveryone knows who Wokka is. I show people The Sword and they go "fuck I need to listen to more of this" because these guys play instruments and put heart into what they play. They ain't even rich and successful in the scheme of things, they do it for the music
Drug induced love songs > Bragging about how much swag you have
so here's the thing, you just don't know what you're talking about or have any meaningful understanding of modern music. also i promise you that the past had a shit load of egotistic "bragging about swag" songs
so here's the thing, you just don't know what you're talking about or have any meaningful understanding of modern music. also i promise you that the past had a shit load of egotistic "bragging about swag" songs
I completely understand modern music. It's all I hear on the radio 24/7 and it's terrible. Name one hit song before the 90's that was about "omg check my swag and dolla billz"

Drug induced love songs > Bragging about how much swag you have
bragging about how much swag you have is simply a modernization of papa's new bag if you wanna argue the merits of individual songs go ahead but when you start generalizing decades you reveal the fact you don't know anything either decades of music none of the bands you've mentioned were even at the top in the 70's, instead it was stuff like the carpenters, carole king, the bee gee's, the osmonds, rod stewart, frankie vali [editline]9th October 2012[/editline]
Sure isn't popular though. There was just as much shit back then; the difference is the internet and 24/7 media makes it really easy to find bad stuff.
But you can't name one person back then who was in their right mind and said they weren't awesome. Lawless Lands by The Sword: 71,499 views Hard In the Paint by Wokka: 16,258,661 views shudder
Name one hit song before the 90's that was about "omg check my swag and dolla billz"
did you think hair metal was full of intelligent philosophical debates?

The fucking Beatles? Nobody listens to them anymore, nobody under 18 (generalization, chill), but they're still regarded as pretty much the best band in the world, because of how they revolutionized music. Tons of people don't even think they're any good, but you can't ignore their prowess. All I'm saying is Nicki won't be playing in coffee shops 50 years from now, immortalized so to speak, but the Stones, Rush, BBKing, Clapton, Muddy, Ella Fitzgerald, they are now and they probably always will be [editline]10th October 2012[/editline]
Highway Star i dare you to disagree
He's singing about the car/girl/things he loves and holds dear and knows it's a racing machine, not about all the bills, popping bottles, getting pussy and flying in his G6. I'll disagree on the basis of "not every one of their songs was about swag", I guess
lol you couldn't be more literally wrong in saying nobody listens to them hahahahahahaha. Incredible. also

Kanye is one that stands out.
lol you couldn't be more literally wrong in saying nobody listens to them hahahahahahaha. Incredible.
You know what I mean, that's why I said generalization. Most kids these days don't. Girls at work scream in joy when One Direction comes on, I scream in agony. Generalization, it's a big word but just look it up
