Everyone in this thread that disagrees with you joining the Army is a Commie Sympathizer and should be dragged into the street and shot. For democracy.

If they weren't fighting for liberty they were fighting for independence or democracy or freedom or decency or honor or their native land or something else that didn't mean anything. The war was to make the world safe for democracy for the little countries for everybody. If the war was over now then the world must be all safe for democracy. Was it? And what kind of democracy? And how much? And whose?
join the RAF Regiment
I still don't see the point of the U.K. having a military.
Army I can't tell you much about because I dislike the branch. Very weak training (compared to Marines) and the pay is minimal. The fact you will be surrounded by educational rejects and chavs really puts me off.
Even the Guards and the Household Cavalry? :C I beg to differ, they are awesome!
I still don't see the point of the U.K. having a military.
This man is obviously a Communist attempting to undermind the National Defense of America's allies, using their godless ideals of shared ownership and abolishment of armed conflict to destroy the foundations of Liberity, Justice, Democracy and Freedom.
The object of war is not to die for your country. It is to make the other men die for theirs.
I could swear this is a quote I saw when I died in COD once.
War is fucking stupid.
Yeah but remember a memo, "You can hate the government for beginning a war, you can hate the enemy for killing people of your country, but don't hate the soldiers fighting the war." I salute this kid... At least he finds a reason to become apart of his military too support his country. In three years, I hope maybe I'll be on the line with him if this war is still going.
If you're smart, join the RAF, if you're a failure at trying to be smart, join then navy, if you were "that arse hole" at school, join the infantry. Or if you were that guy that thought he was cool enough to get into the royal marines but failed, then go operate a forklift in a factory. Yeah i'm just pulling scenario's from my past but i find them all amusing :3
If you haven't yet, think about what it means to die. Then ask yourself if you can face that.
Well I suppose you will never drive a vehicle for you have a greater chance of dieing in a car wreck than in Iraq or Afghanistan. At least in the U.S, I'm not sure the traffic deaths in the U.K.
Don't go for basic infantry. Let the hopeless join them. Do something in the Army that will help you after you leave. The Royal Engineers for example. Leave with trade.
hurr i played cod4 too much and want to join the army so i coupd be badass and become hero
Grow up
You will become a mercenary. You will be paid to murder human beings. Think about that for a little bit.
Awesome.
The object of war is not to die for your country. It is to make the other men die for theirs.
I'm pretty sure its... "Patriotism isn't dying for your country. It's making some other poor bastard die for his." That's the original.
No, it's "The object of war is not to die for your country, it's to make the other bastard die for his", George Patton said it. Anyway, I'm not sure to what extent your qualifications may allow you but REME might be a good choice, it'd be even closer to what Linelor did (Vehicle repair/recovery etc.) - hopefully with less roadside bombs involved. It's more for the hands-on kind of guy though, and they're at significantly higher risk than Navy and Air force folk, but if you're good with electronic or mechanical devices it'd be a viable choice.
join the marines and "get some"
From personal experience, if you join the RAF, try and get stationed in the Brize Norton RAF base outside Oxfordshire. Simply put, saying your a jet pilot to the local women makes your dick instantly wet. How I love to lie to these women. :woop:
From what i remember certain branches aren't recruiting for the next 6 months to save money.
Cannon fodder will be cannon fodder, I suppose.
