• Fast Food Ads vs Reality

I have a feeling this guy had his food spit on, unfortunately. The way some of those managers were like "Here we go, just for you!" seemed suspicious.
Man, that guy must have bad luck or something. I've only ever seen fast food like that happen when the restaurant was really busy.

Any sign of sincerity or care for you is total hatred and empathy being suppressed by the desire to not lose your job. Have a nice day sir.
man that film sucked a huge fat dick
Excuse me?
Gotta say, from personal experience I've very rarely had a burger that didn't look like it did on the ad. A couple of times, yeah, but I've found that depended more on where I bought it from than the company itself. There's a McDonalds just a short walk from where I live, and their burgers are pretty damn good visually (and in taste). Then there's another one in a mall about a 5-minute train ride from where I live and their burgers are pretty bad. So I think it varies a lot on where you buy it and what the conditions of the restaurant are. The one a short walk from me has very few customers. Less stress, more time to make individual burgers. The one in the mall has a ton of people coming at the same time, all cashier lines full. I don't blame the guys in the kitchen for not being able to make a perfect 10 in that kind of environment. who cares if your fast food doesn't look like it does in the ads you're eating fast food
who cares if your fast food doesn't look like it does in the ads you're eating fast food
People care. Looks matter a whole lot for food. Food that looks visually appealing is a lot more enjoyable to eat. Depending on looks, same food can even taste different because of placebo.
yeah sure but why expect fast food joints to cook up a masterpiece for a few dollars? they aren't going to advertise with the kind of burger they usually produce because that would be terrible. the McDonalds video near the top of the thread explains it better than i can
People care. Looks matter a whole lot for food. Food that looks visually appealing is a lot more enjoyable to eat. Depending on looks, same food can even taste different because of placebo.
If you care about how your food looks don't buy fast food.
i hope he didn't eat the second attempts they probably added a little extra stuff to those
man that film sucked a huge fat dick
Everyone calm down. He's getting this film confused with God Bless America.
I rarely care how my food looks as long as it tastes okay/good. Really I'll eat it as long as it doesn't look like cow shit and bird vomit mixed together or something to that effect
I hate every burger from fast foods they taste like shit, I would rather get the stuff I need from random shops in the city and make my own home made sandwitch.
[t]http://images34.fotki.com/v345/photos/9/986296/3990779/08witch-vi.jpg[/t] Oh god
Is it me or does only assholes pull shit like this? I've never worked in fast food, but I can appreciate the fact that someone is slaving away on their feet all day in a hot greasy kitchen. I don't expect food that's shit for my health to be on par with Gordon Ramsay's Restaurants. Just give me my fucking burger and I'm happy. I don't quite get the point of this guy's video, other than that people who ask to have their orders redone for shitty reasons are self-entitled assholes.
Greg is far from a self-entitled asshole though. For example: But of course, the most important question is, how did Frogger get his name?
I'm too afraid of pissing off fast food restaurant employees to try this. Most FF jobs are easy to get and only pay minimum wage so there isn't that much keeping them from stealthily spitting in your food.
Noone risks that sort of thing because it would result in an instant sacking. You'd be surprised at how many people in places like mcdonalds, etc. are desperate to cling to their jobs.
Of course the final product isn't gonna look as great as it does in the glamour shots. I thought this was obvious. The glamour shots aren't necessarily impossible, but one of the key components of a promotional picture is that they shift all the ingredients toward the camera so you can see what's inside the bun/shell/whatever. On a normal burger you won't see most of it because it's all under the bun. But it's still there, at least if the employees are doing their job and making the product up to spec. The most important part, though, is that it tastes the same. It's the same food, regardless of how it looks. I personally feel that it's petty entitlement to expect a ~perfect burger~ every time. These people don't have the time, especially during busy hours, to stand there and fine-tune your fucking hamburger so that you can see all the pretty lettuce and ketchup from the outside of the burger. If I were the employees, I'd think this guy was kind of a jerk (though I wouldn't say it, of course). By the way, most of the food he handed back was probably thrown out. If this isn't "#firstworldproblems" then I don't know what is.
I always disliked the idea that throwing out a little bit of food was such a terrible thing. What are we going to do if we don't eat it, ship all these old burgers across the ocean to Africa? And the issue never really has been about 'there's not enough food,' but rather the distribution of the food we have. Not sure if you guys realize this, but we're on a huge food surplus right now, and have been for many years. The fact that there are starving people out there has nothing to do with the food, but the economy. They're more poor than simply starving. Good times.
man that film sucked a huge fat dick
You have some terrible taste.
As someone who works at a burger king, I've gotta say there is no better feeling than making a sandwich that looks like the picture. Sometimes when we're getting hammered the sandwiches will begin to look less like the picture (people are usually more pissed about waiting >5 minutes than they are about eating something that was made in 15 seconds), but when we're less crowded, I usually try to make my sandwiches look like the picture. BK food is actually surprisingly high quality, the only things we "microwave" are the brownies and pies. The rest is either broiled or fried. Not healthy, but you know :v:
Has anybody gotten an order where it literally is some else's order and they spent a shit load of money on it. You realize after you drive off and you can either come back to get you're order and they will let you have your order and the one they gave you. Or you can keep it since it's better than your order lol. That shiz is cheating but it happens. They always mess shiz up.
When I worked at Burger King I actually had someone complain about a burger I made looking like shit. Needless to say I was pretty pissed because the only reason it was bad was because I got swamped with orders.
At mcdonalds I always order CBO and carbord-cutout-looking salad aside, it looks pretty darn like the picture. [editline]18th June 2014[/editline] Aaaaand now I'm hungry for burgers.
I remember my teacher in secondary telling me she had someone who worked in advertising for one of the fast food chains and apparently they used plastic burgers in place of real ones because apparently it wouldn't look good in close up shots.
Fuck fast food restraunts. I would go buy large thick burger patties in bulk from the discount store, slap them on a pan with homemade fries on the side, shovel on the veggies, and boom. Something that Mcdonalds would charge for 15 bucks.
This is what I've started to do rather than eating at fast food restaurants. Healthier, cheaper, and tastier.
I don't know about healthier. I double stack mine when the opportunity stands and slap cheese all over it. Anyone getting hungry?
