You guys must realise that the reason people go hunting isn't for the meat but for the thrill of shooting and killing animals.
Hunting is part of human history and has been going on for thousands of years.
try shooting a rifle
this isn't mw2 lol
I have shot a Barret .50 cal before, the fact that he's using a bipod AND he's in the prone position should make the recoil minimal compared to what it normally is. The distance isn't even that much either but I mean he missed a stationary target at less than 100 feet.
So you can get fined/arrested if you shoot it and it gets away?
Normally when you shoot an animal with something like .50 cal it doesn't really get away anymore.
But in the case it gets away after getting shot you can get fined for that yes (if they find out of course)
Why the fuck would they do that? Using a bullet like that will just ruin the meat, and if you sent able to eat the animal, than you have no reason to kill it. You kill animals to eat them, if you can't eat them, you have no reason to kill them.
I have heard armadillo tastes good, they shouldn't destroy the poor thing if they can't eat it.
Friend had a skunk with rabies in his yard once and he shot it, does that count?

Yes but you see nobody cares.

In most places it's illegal to just go hunting around unless it's a hunting season or the country/state you're in wants a certain species dead due to overpopulation.
Yes but you see nobody cares.
That's really a dumb thing to say.
Making a clean kill is just something you just do, there's no need to shoot a deer twice in his back and then when it's writhing in pain on the ground in its head.
That's sick even for a hunter.

Hunting has been used in human history primarily as a method of obtaining food, if you didn't realize that than you're an idiot. Way before agriculture was invented/discovered how else do you think we got our food?

Durrr really? i have no clue thats whats going on with hunting back then! thanks!
[editline]6th February 2011[/editline]
In modern times we have been hunting mainely for game, not for food.

I think you missed the point of what he was trying to say.
But what is part of history is our thirst for blood. Roman gladiator battles, medieval jousting and so forth.
We have replaced that in modern society with hunting.
Don't .50 bullets cost a ton of money?

Did you really just compare this:

To this?

well that was fucking dumb and boring
when I commented on the video I managed to not attack them personally (for the rednecks they almost certainly are) and limit myself to just the extreme dullness of the video and to how terrible he/they are at shooting

I have never heard of any such law. It would be nearly immpossible to enforce.

Well if you want to go around killing stuff with weapons you go hunting.
I didn't really feel bad until I saw all the little baby pigs follow :(

Why do you think video games are so addicting?
720 noscope wallbang? I think not. :colbert:

If you are referring to the pigs, then you have no clue what kind of problems those things cause. They are a huge nuisance in the south, what with destroying crops and fences, overpopulation and them consuming livestock feed. When you kill them you do not eat them, you just go to kill more.

Watch it again please. He shoots the first pig in the stomach when its stationary. Misses all the other pigs, maybe hits the one at the end.
the time is 1:37 :v:

The Hunting Act 2004
"any person who intentionally inflicts, or causes or procures, unnecessary suffering on or to any wild mammal shall be guilty of an offence."
The masculinity, I see none of it.
This took place an easy hour drive from my house. I love Oklahoma sometimes...
What they're doing is technically illegal (that is if one of the shots actually grazed the target).
You are supposed to make it a clean kill, the animal must not suffer in any way. If you miss and it runs off then fuck you unless you're such a good marksman that you can just kill it on the move (which these guys obviously can't)
50cal is about as lethal as it gets.
