Its a announcement trailer, see it as a teaser which also doesn't show shit.
The red thing (abomination?) coming out of the pool of blood reminds me of the abomination in Evil dead, but on steroids and alot more scarier.

I think the point is to get your attention, so you are aware that they are making a new game. It's called advertisement, and I think they did a good job, because my fear has aroused me to want this game.

I think that should be obvious considering the only games Bethesda has actually made in recent years is The Elder Scrolls and Fallout.
How exactly do they plan to develop this both to the next gen consoles and the current gen consoles as well as PC without making the graphics suffer more?

Can't really tell if the game is going to be amazing from a trailer with no gameplay footage whatsoever, but I'd really love to see a decent new horror game.
If the game is anything like the trailer I have high hopes.

Yeah we cant really say anything about the game at this point, but the safe-head is pretty ridicilous in my opinion.
The survival horror genre has been all but nearly dead in recent modern titles, I mean look at Resident Evil 6. The only real horror games we've got these days are indie titles like Amnesia or mods like Cry of Fear.
If this game is a good survival horror, it'll be the first big one we've had in years, and I like that thought. I'm gonna be optimistic for this one, it looks pretty creepy and messed up, and kinda reminds me of Silent Hill in many ways.

Dead space provides a good survival horror experience too man. But you are mostly right about titles not being that good. The last silent hill I played felt like an action game with weird enemies.

although i really hope it'll have [I]some[/I] form of combat in it in a similar style to Silent Hill, if only because imho an entirely stealth-based experience always seems to get a bit formulaic after a while
