I still remember that Windows 98 starting sound, and comparing it to what we have today, it just rocks.
Wow, that sound at 0:20. I remember that my first PC did that too.
i wish i still had my apple 2gs
i wonder why mips hasn't posted here yet
When I tried to run 3.1 in a VM, it was LAGGY. It may have been my shit computer, but it was laggy.
Anyone else think Windows 2000 was the best Windows OS?
i remember in primary school when everyone logged into the computers all you could here was the XP start up theme on full volume flooding the whole class
That still happens at my school today since they still use XP :v:

or Amiga OS
You could wire your own possibly, it just takes extra work to put it in
Switches for ATX power sources use normally-open switches, rather than the toggle switches used by old AT power sources... Wouldn't having a toggle switch fuck with the motherboard or something?
You could still wire in something like a really old normally open switch that made some rad noise, or even an arcade cabinet button.
I always loved the sound old computers made while running. No idea why though.
Because it sounds like technology as opposed to computers now which just sound like a disappointing air conditioner.

Dude, you haven't heard my Dell XPS M1730 when all 3 fans are blaring. I actually felt the ground rock.
For some reason my computer used to make a weird squealing noise when I opened Tribes 1.
It's the only game that ever did that and it just randomly stopped one day.
Can anyone tell me what that grinding sound you hear then the PC's loading is? It's one of the sounds from my child hood, and I never understood what was making it.
I used to think it was because my old, shitty computer literally worked using gears and cogs and stuff.
That's the hard drive, the whirring noise is the platter spinning and the grinding noise is the arm with the read heads moving across the platter.
