Oh the irony... I would seriously be ashamed of leaving home.
I'm sure it's different when it is your baby. 9 months of anticipation of a normal baby, that they get to raise but it turns out to be a hideous monster, might as well keep it for a little while.
I honestly have to agree with OP.
Kill them before they breed
don't worry, they won't anyway
What I wouldn't want to happen to me is get totally paralyzed and be kept alive. What's the point of being alive if you can't even express yourself in any way at all?
In these extreme cases I certainly agree with the OP. When the baby has Downs syndrome or similar common disabilities I'd say that they have a life in front of them that is definitely worth living. e. g. kids with Downs syndrome can live a nearly normal life in this age, because there have been made such great advances in medicine, psychology etc. They can go to normal schools, later live on their own and have a job, they also get a lot older now. [editline]02:06PM[/editline]
I know that. But have you EVER seen a retarded person that is good looking? I think not.
Paris Hilton isn't that ugly. on second thought maybe
don't worry, they won't anyway
The thought of it frightens me It's already been fictionally created though COMING SOON TO AN CINEMA NEAR YOU 2012: RISE OF THE DAMNNED That's how I predict humanity's future
It isn't our place to play the part of god.
It isn't our place to play the part of god.
Do we need a god to kill?
It isn't our place to play the part of god.
Just because god killed millions of people doesn't mean we are playing god by stopping certain people from passing on their genetic disorders or from pulling the plug on vegetables.
Do we need a god to kill?
We shouldn't kill children because we are worried that they won't live a successful life, it isn't our place to make that call.
Just because god killed millions of people doesn't mean we are playing god by stopping certain people from passing on their genetic disorders or from pulling the plug on vegetables.
I don't 'believe' in god, I'm just saying it isn't our place to choose whats best for them. Besides, eugenics is the ultimate form of dehumanization. What makes us so certain what the 'successful genetics' are? We are so obsessed with the perfect human. We create a standard that if people don't meet, we label them as 'challenged' or 'retarded'. It isn't our place to say this sort of shit.

So if we got no right to choose to kill a deformed baby, then why should we care for it?
It isn't our place to play the part of god.
we're keeping them alive by man-made machine. so if you wanna get all religious shit on us man, we're playing god by making something that shouldn't live, live. and denying him access to heaven.
If it's not our place to choose, let's drop them in trash can or something. They will die without help anyway. So if we got no right to choose to kill a deformed baby, then why should we care for it?
A completely normal and healthy baby would die in a trashcan.
We shouldn't kill children because we are worried that they won't live a successful life, it isn't our place to make that call. We're not talking about throwing out a baby because it doesn't have the right hair color or eye color, we're talking about avoiding the lifetime of suffering that someone would endure if they were missing a brain, a set of working lungs, or any other vital organ, or if they had a disorder that seriously impacted on their quality of life and the quality of life of those around them.

So if we got no right to choose to kill a deformed baby, then why should we care for it?
All children will die if you drop them in a trashcan. You have no right to kill a regular baby, why a deformed one? Children are children. If a mother doesn't want to care for her regular daughter, should she be able to kill her? Of course not. Yet when a mother -does- care for her deformed/vegetable daughter, all of you tell her that she should have just killed the baby on the spot.
we're keeping them alive by man-made machine. so if you wanna get all religious shit on us man, we're playing god by making something that shouldn't live, live. and denying him access to heaven.
We keep lots of people alive via man made shit and medicine. Mothers are kept alive in birth by doctors, children from medicine. It is a duty to keep them alive.

Not funny.
Honestly, I'd date that girl out of pity. I'd try to learn to love her too. You guys are mostly a bunch of heartless assholes.
I'd date that girl out of pity.
That's just pathetic IMO.
You guys are mostly a bunch of heartless assholes.
Welcome to the internet. :v:
Honestly, I'd date that girl out of pity. I'd try to learn to love her too. You guys are mostly a bunch of heartless assholes.
You're the heartless asshole. How would you feel if someone dated you out of pity? Would it make you feel better about your shitty life that someone felt so sorry for you that they dated you regardless of what they actually felt? If you think disabled people want our pity, you're sadly mistaken and I'm absolutely certain you've never met a disabled person in your life.

Us, that's my fucking tax money your spending on. WHAT TO CHOOSE: A) PAY FOR BETTER EDUATION VIA TAX OR B) MAKE A DEAD THING STAY TECHNICALLY ALIVE VIA TAX hard to choose dawg 3) Regular baby =/= Deformed one Regular baby = average chance of finding love, getting educated, and continuing our gene pool, possibly positively. Deformed baby = low-impossible chance of finding love, getting watered down education, teased and traumatized by bad kids continuing our gene pool, and contaminating it with horridness. I'm no fucking appearance nazi, but there's a difference between this: and this
This is a reason why we don't turn to religion for help, but science. Medical science. This is the thing that will fix your child. Not God. Sometimes, God is drunk and do funny stuff. I don't blame him.
If they could speak, I'm sure they'd say they are glad to be alive. It isn't suffering, it is existence. Who are we to determine what 'quality of life' is?
the ones who are living in a good quality one. for fucks sake, there's a reason why Joseph Merrick, the original elephant man, committed suicide.
1) mothers could give birth to kids before doctors existed, it's natural.
Death rates for mothers in the 1700's and such were very high.
2) whose duty? Are you forgetting who pays for these kids to stay alive? Us, that's my fucking tax money your spending on.
There is always going to be coercion. The government will always do something you don't completely agree with, welcome to a republic. Your touting for public education, but there are plenty of libertarians that say the government shouldn't do that.
3) Regular baby =/= Deformed one Regular baby = average chance of finding love, getting educated, and continuing our gene pool, possibly positively. Deformed baby = low-impossible chance of finding love, getting watered down education, teased and traumatized by bad kids continuing our gene pool, and contaminating it with horridness.
The only reason they get teased is because we fucking tease them, because of things like this that say, "They have no right to live" or they shouldn't live. And yeah, 'contaminating our gene pool'. This is the exact shit i'm talking about. Fuckin' eugenics. The perfect human. Fucking nazi germany.
the ones who are living in a good quality one. for fucks sake, there's a reason why Joseph Merrick, the original elephant man, committed suicide.
That was his choice to make, not ours.
If they could speak, I'm sure they'd say they are glad to be alive. It isn't suffering, it is existence. Who are we to determine what 'quality of life' is?
Of course they would be. In fact, they'd probably be even more glad than the next person because they're aware of the odds they face. That's not at issue here. The issue here is that even though the person would be glad to be alive, it wouldn't be a life worth living. Rather than force them to live through the miracle of modern medicine, we snuff them out before the ever have a chance to have a conscious thought. They'll never know, they'll never have to suffer, and even if they did know and were happy for the few seconds they were allowed to live, it doesn't matter anyway. Human life is so absolutely worthless and inconsequential that if we killed a thousand healthy babies a week, nothing would change about the world. Getting rid of the helpless, weak, suffering, deformed and disabled babies that simply would have died were it not for the miracle of modern medicine makes even less of a difference in the overall scheme of things.
