[QUOTE=J Paul;17706434] The issue here is that even though the person would be glad to be alive, it wouldn't be a life worth living. Rather than force them to live through the miracle of modern medicine, we snuff them out before the ever have a chance to have a conscious though. They'll never know, they'll never have to suffer, and even if they did know and were happy for the few seconds they were allowed to live, it doesn't matter anyway. Human life is so absolutely worthless and inconsequential that if we killed a thousand healthy babies a week, nothing would change about the world. Getting rid of the helpless, weak, suffering, deformed and disabled babies that simply would have died were it not for the miracle of modern medicine makes even less of a difference in the overall scheme of things.[/QUOTE] If they want to live, we don't get to say they shouldn't be allowed. If you want to stop using medicine on people, fine. No more doctors, no more anything. You cant give them any less rights just because they don't fit into the cookie-cut-classic of what it is to be human.
[QUOTE=Neolk;17706421]Death rates for mothers in the 1700's and such were very high. There is always going to be coercion. The government will always do something you don't completely agree with, welcome to a republic. Your touting for public education, but there are plenty of libertarians that say the government shouldn't do that. The only reason they get teased is because we fucking tease them, because of things like this that say, "They have no right to live" or they shouldn't live. And yeah, 'contaminating our gene pool'. This is the exact shit i'm talking about. Fuckin' eugenics. The perfect human. Fucking nazi germany. That was his choice to make, not ours.[/QUOTE] none the less, giving birth is natural, and can be done via none doctors, for god's sake, it's in our genes. hence why i have the right to say this, they're spending my tax money, and i have the right to say: fuck off, it's my money, even though it's futile. You don't get it, do you? Why do you compare us to Nazi's? Nazi's wanted to get rid of [b]Jews[/b], blacks, and etc. who were perfectly normal and natural as rest of us. These so called 'inferior' beings contributed tons of shit to humanity and contributed to our gene pool positively. What's positive about these deformed unintelligent guys? I pity them, and so does everyone, and they hate it. It's human nature to be freaked out and they'll be pitied for a long time. See, I don't mind [b]deformed[/b] people(they have contributed to shit too), but I do mind [b]deformed retards[/b] or just retards, cause I can't name anything innovative that contributed to humanity as a whole. Go ahead, call me a Nazi, but i'm right.
[QUOTE=Neolk;17706441]If they want to live, we don't get to say they shouldn't be allowed. If you want to stop using medicine on people, fine. No more doctors, no more anything. You cant give them any less rights just because they don't fit into the cookie-cut-classic of what it is to be human.[/QUOTE] You're getting confused here. If they have a slight cosmetic defect yet are otherwise fully functional, they aren't the topic of this thread. They're perfectly fine and will just have to face this adversity in their life, just like we all have a certain degree of adversity to face. However, we're talking about people who are born without a functioning brain or lung and absolutely would die if they weren't hooked up to multiple machines 24 hours of the day. That is not a life anyone would want to live. I've been in a nursing home before, helping my sister, spending time with the elderly and giving them a bit of company, and on average, no-one there really wants to live. There's the occasional person who can actually walk and who tries to remain optimistic, but it's mostly just full of people who would much rather not exist than suffer so greatly. It's pretty much the same for babies, except they don't even know the difference because they aren't conscious, thinking beings, and they don't know what it's like to live anyway, so they're not yet qualified to make that decision for themselves, especially when the result of the decision to keep them alive is a tremendous burden on many people who probably really don't need such a thing in their lives.
Here's my quick and simple opinion: If they can work and/or pull their own weight in the world, let them live, if not, they're a waste of carbon and should be put down. I don't care if the person doesn't have any physical or mental problems, if he just leeches from the rest of us he deserves it.
[QUOTE=Larry_G;17706388]That's just pathetic IMO. Welcome to the internet. :v:[/QUOTE] You're pathetic IMO. You mean "welcome to facepunch and 4chan". Most of the internet isn't like this shitbox. [QUOTE=J Paul;17706397]You're the heartless asshole. How would you feel if someone dated you out of pity? Would it make you feel better about your shitty life that someone felt so sorry for you that they dated you regardless of what they actually felt? If you think disabled people want our pity, you're sadly mistaken and I'm absolutely certain you've never met a disabled person in your life.[/QUOTE] Cool story, bro.
I agree with OP on all points.
Some day, we [b]will[/b] need to throw away morality for the greater good.
[QUOTE=Str4t0s;17706895]Some day, we [b]will[/b] need to throw away morality for the greater good.[/QUOTE] But what is this "greater good" I keep hearing about?
[QUOTE=Hawkfight207;17702231]OP has obviously never seen a baby with cyclopia Media tagged to prevent vomit [media]http://hem.bredband.net/niknyk/pics/cyclops2.jpg[/media][/QUOTE] OH MY FLYING FUCK THAT IS COOL /caps
[QUOTE=xamllew;17702127]My sister is severely handicapped (paralyzed) since she was a baby, she's now 8 needs to be stomach fed, and has a trachea hole cut in her throat so she can breathe, taking care of her can be very hard sometimes for my Mother but you wouldn't know, no normal person would consider killing their child because of a disability or birth defect. It would make life for the family much easier to do such a thing but that's unthinkable for a mother (or a good one at least). At least that's my perspective.[/QUOTE] You're biased because you're related to her.
This thread fills me with anger and sadness at the same time because so many sociopaths at on place can make hilariously wrong ideas go even worse Hey you idiots, ever heard of such a thing like taking responsibility? I don't think so because what you're doing right now is denying the chance you will ever have a baby like this. Truth be told, nor do I or anyone here knows the consequences of taking care of children, either normal by your fucked up standards or different by your again mindlessly fucked up and wrong standards. i just hope you never ever have the chance to kill someone with a birth defect, be that someone else or your own children. Abortion is a different thing. If you know your baby is going to be like it is then the logical choice should be to abort him. These days when instinct is becoming less and less reliable, I think logic should take place.
:barf: Img tag that stuff OP
[QUOTE=aman III;17702027]Just using the "Juliana" girls case as an example: [IMG]http://i34.tinypic.com/2rp8lkp.jpg[/IMG] [/QUOTE] Thank you for that comparison, I would have never known which was which.

Yeah, I know its doctors jobs 'n' shit to keep people alive, but that is horrible.

My only opinion on this issue is that I find it incredibly annoying when they try to pretend like mentally handicapped people are just like everyone else. They keep them in school usually a few years after they should graduate and they never end up doing anything beyond what they did in the 2nd grade. Im of the opinion that it is mans mind that makes him man, when thats altered in such a way they really aren't fully human as far as I'm concerned. Not to say that we should start being Nazis and kill them but I merely point out the futility of keeping them in school for 13 years. With respect to people with sound minds and physical deformity's I say leave them be, they only get one chance at an existence of any kind and they really have no other choice but to try and make the best of it. Of course this is coming from a man who secretly hides Pectus excavatum under his shirt on a daily basis.
I have to agree, all these parents pansy around saying "Look at my deformed baby, she is a gift from god". Not really, they'd be a gift from got if they had a useful deformation/mutation, such as say, wings or something, or something else which would help them to survive.
My view is this: If I agree to join in and say "She shouldn't be allowed live because...", that means I have to accept it if someone else says, about ME, "You shouldn't be allowed to live because...". I sure as hell ain't going to allow that shit! Everyone thinks their reasons for something are 'right'. The fact is it's all about perspective. Example: We, Americans I mean, say that destroying a civilian target, such as a city, with weapons of mass destruction would be the most unthinkable terrorist act possible. This is why we don't want Iran to get nukes and so on. Yeah but WE are the ONLY country to ever do that! Why isn't it considered a terrorist act by Americans? Because we had 'good reasons'. Of course we think that, EVERYONE thinks their reasons are the good ones! It's only when other people have reasons to do something against us that all of a sudden having a 'good reason' is no longer enough. Either that or we say no your reason isn't a good one, as if we get to decide for everyone else what is good and what isn't.

I agree with you. It's what alot of people think but don't have the balls to admit or discuss because of whiney people. It costs everyone money, makes lifes miseries and in the end they won't do anything. Should just put them out of their misery.
[QUOTE=RedBlade2021;17711732]Lets cut wellfare then, 99/100's of those people are just abusing it.[/QUOTE] So where did you get this statistic?
