say if you think he wouldn't be able to enact any of his social policies, what the fuck makes you think he'll be able to completely overturn the direction that the US government has been going in for decades?
I'm not sure what to make of Ron Paul, but these arguments over someone who might not even get nominated are stupid and unnecessary.
Why is Facepunch so schizophrenic?
One second they absolutely applaud and agree with someone, next second that person is the biggest idiot they've ever seen.
People here have a double standard, its fine when TAA agrees with them, god forbid he goes against them for good reasons.
Please don't just flip your shit when someone differs in view to you, its childish and pathetic. Ironically its the same thing a lot of religious people do when they hear his views on atheism, if you guys won't get over your own bias and look for reason how can you expect most religious people to do the same? Funnily enough he even stated people would insult him for disagreeing with Ron Paul. Lets face it Ron Paul may have some good ideas for running a country, most of what he has though is intention I've yet to see many hard economic changes he has in mind, but someone who throws reason and logic out the door for some pretty key topics of science deserves scrutiny, if this was anyone else we would demand it, no actually we would call them fucking retarded.
This guy is an idiot, he thinks the US president is some magical position able to completely change the way our society works, he's supposed to be a military leader for fucks sake, he barely has any power over anything else, all he can do is propose things to congress and hopes it doesn't get cock blocked because the opposing party has a majority.
Seriously, the US isn't going to implode and revert to a caveman society because someone that doesn't like abortion gets into power.
So if you think a president isn't going to do jack shit to change a country why are you people so bothered about getting Ron Paul of all people into power? From what I gather the only reason most of you are overlooking his clear lack of logic in certain regards is because he may be a legitimate candidate for change in America. Now you've gone and completely contradicted that yourselves by stating a president can't do jack shit. I'm amazed at how some of you apply certain principles as arguments which completely destroy your original claim.
Quite a few people support Ron Paul because he supports the legalization of marijuana. Quite a few of them are only following him because of this fact and his opposition toward the wars we're engulfed in. Some of his policies are really conservative, and at times ignorant, but I think these are passed over simply because of the few incredibly liberal policies that he concurrently supports.
