While girls are dreaming about celebrities and their fantasies with them.. Aren't we guys always thinking how we are a secret agent that has been under cover for years, constantly thinking how we can escape a room if it becomes under a terror attack. I some times can day dream for hours, to think how cool it would be to be able to jump 300ft in the air. Just trying to say girls could find us being a bit odd.
Since men are better than women, obviously, they're the ones acting odd. I'm joking since I know a lot of you are going to take that seriously.
Seriously, I don't get them. I haven't met a single dude who's ever been openly obsessed with a female celebrity, for instance. Still, I knew a bunch of girls back when I was in high school - and a couple now, as an adult - who admitted they literally fantasize about scenarios involving them and their celebrity crush. Even worse, they sometimes suffered under some delusion that the object of their affections would be romantically interested in them if they ever were to meet. Maybe I don't understand it because my interest in celebrities has only gone so far as Hmm, Avril Lavigne has pretty nice eyes, actually. What really took the cake, though, was when I made the mistake of dating a girl that was clueless enough to bore me with her talk about just how cute she thinks Robert freaking Patterson is. Anyone else share my opinion and bewilderment?
I've never had a real celebrity crush myself. I mean I look at some and think "yeah I wouldn't say no if I was single" but it's not to the extent where I'm a squealing fangirl, watching all their films and having posters all over my wall. I'm no Twilight fan, I hate Twilight, Robert Pattinson (seeing as yu mentioned him in your post) for example is not bad to look at when he's not made up as Fagward Cullen but still I look at celebrities like him no differently to guys I walk past in the streets. Also I only talk about guys to guys when my boyfriend asks me the "would you do him? (if you were single)" question. It's kind of a game we have, I do it to him too with girls :D. Else, I can see it being a very boring topic for me even.
Instead of making a new thread about it, let's talk about how irritating women who enjoy playing "mind games" are, too. I'm attracted to women who are blunt and brutally honest. Dropping hints isn't going to get a rise out of me, whether I understand what they mean or not. If I'm not in love with the girl, or if I'm in a less-than-jovial mood, I can't be assed to bend over backwards to vindicate her, and typically pretend I'm completely oblivious just to frustrate her some more.
Again, I agree here. I am hard to get, but that isn't on purpose, it's just me being oblivious to when guys are interested till it gets very obvious :D. I don't play games, I'm just me, people are confusing enough already without little mind games to play on top of it.
I've seen countless men obsess over Megan Fox. :|
I'll never understand this. I mean she's attractive, but not really more so than any other hollywood girl. I don't really see what makes her stand out.
Guys, on the other hand, are quieter about their interests and lock themselves in their rooms with their computers...
nope that's just you
I'll never understand this. I mean she's attractive, but not really more so than any other hollywood girl. I don't really see what makes her stand out.
This is pretty much the answer to the OP's question. Most guys, I would assume, think this, but to each male idol that the women around them worship.
I personally think Avril Lavigne is rather pretty, at least before she went all "pop".
I think Lindsay Lohan is pretty, but I don't suppose anyone else agrees.
Both sexes have celebrity crushes, they just show them in different ways: Woman: Oh i LOVE him I want to marry him. (He's cute, i'd do him) Men: Meh, she's cute. (I would fuck her until one of us bled) And no, lindsey does look good. But then so does a cake with a dog turd hidden inside.
Usually girls talk about celebraty crushes because they feel that it's harmless because it's something that might never actually happen. They won't talk to you about a crush they have with someone you two mutually know.
But if a guy talks about how hot blah blah is and how they like to tap that. Its going to far?
But if a guy talks about how hot blah blah is and how they like to tap that. Its going to far?
Depends. I'm gay but I find that if it is completely randomly brought up by the horny dude, the rest are a bit annoyed at having the topic derailed. Women tend to be offended about the objectification of women, but when they get all annoyed and loud I ask them what a dildo is. Talking about their looks without the "tap that" tends to be quite a bit more accepted, though.

Maybe because your not men enough :smug:
I heard Megan Fox was in love with a stripper.
I heard Megan Fox was in love with a stripper.
I heard Megan Fox is replacing the definition for "Overrated" in the dictionary.
I heard Megan Fox is replacing the definition for "Overrated" in the dictionary.
No shit?
Who the hell is robert patterson :geno:
Megan Fox.
Hmm, I know I obsess about famous-ish people but that is just my nature. For instance, If I see a video of them acting like my friends I obsess in a way that is more like "holyshit they would make a fucking awesome friend". Although I do obsess about boys over their looks, like RyanRoss ('that panic at the disco dude') is amazing (in my opinion) He look stunning and he is shy and adorable most of the time, when he gets more comfortable he is funny. I'd like to meet him and see what he is like in person and ofcourse I am attracted to him so I would try and be friends or whatever. The one person that I 'fantasise' about being with is Pete Wentz (har har yeah he's a dickwad but hear me out) simply because there is a song called 'Pete Wentz is the only reason we're famouse' When this song came out I showed it to a friend who said "ha yeah, that's cause he is you sluuuut" So we have an ongoing joke about Peter being the only reason im 'famous'. So really how do you know if it is serious or a joke? Yes naturally there are teenyboppers who 'love' Cedric or Robert Pattenson or Edward or whoever the fuck he is. But that is because being a sparkly pedofile is the new 'in' thing. This is to be ignored. Plus he is disgusting. Also, Boys DO 'fangirl' over people, but because you have an image to hold up (being a man!) it doesn't show as much, or you just generally don't talk about that sort of stuff where as girls often seem to. Boys DO 'fangirl' but more subtly. Not all girls are squeeling tweens that are oh-so effected by the media, please remember this, and sometimes it is a joke. But you don't get it. /end I can see the tl;dr's already
Women are obsessed with a lot of celebrities from what I see, yet when I tell my girl friends when they're on the subject they just look at me like I'm a madman. 'Olivia Munn Avril Lavigne' I'd tap that so hard you'd be the king of England if you pulled me out.
I don't see why they would look at you weird? Avril Lavigne IS really REALLY goodlooking, so is Victoria Asher... Maybe they aren't comfortable in their sexuality :)

My ex girlfriend, when I was with her, would always so "OMG I love him so much!" or "He is soooooo cute!" whenever I mentioned Bam Margerine. Wtf? That's not normal WHEN YOU'RE 13!!! Also, for some stupid reason, my groupo of friends always put who they were going out with in there MSN name (Like Tom <3 I love you so much), and while I had her name in there, hers said Bam, I love you more than anything! What the fuck! Screw it! I'm going gay *leaves to the gay section" [editline]05:11PM[/editline]
Maybe because your not men enough :smug:
Maybe you're an illiterate :smug:
I wanna bang Emma Watson/Stone but thats just me
I always say I love Alizee, but no one knows who she is outside of the internet. :P
Twilight
Every girl I seem to know has a thing for Edward's big sparkling cock. And I can't believe I just typed that. :smithicide:
I had a crush on Heather Graham (see: sexual attraction) for like a week after seeing her in the second Austin Powers film. God-fucking-damnit is she sexy in that.
what the fuck are you 12
I'm 16 and I still have dreams of jumping badass heights. Then again I had some stuff before I went to sleep.
My best friend is a girl...typical really only in the female sense, otherwise she's a combo sporty/geeky type. But she SWOONS over guys like Gerard Butler and Hugh Jackman. We specifically discussed it once. She asked me, "Why don't you have any celebrity crushes? Or maybe guys in general? Is there any female actor you really really like?" My answer ended up being lame for her: "Well, Scarlet Johansson was really pretty in The Island..." Needless to say, I had to tell her that I, in particular, am not attracted to any A-list female celebrities at all. She even suggested some for me: Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston (who has decidedly grown beyond her attractiveness)...my answer was no. The chemistry of girls is indeed something else entirely, and the whole celebrity crush thing is very likely exclusive to them.
