caffeine is shitty as hell. alot of interesting points made here, there should be serious warnings on all high-caffeine products. you gotta stay away from that kinda stuff or it'll take it's effect later on in life.
Caffeine has few long term effects. I drink 2-3 cups of coffee a day(sometimes 4 if I'm really tired) and I've been doing it for like 10 years. Short term effects if you drink lots of energy drinks or use them with alcohol can be quite severe but caffeine is not very bad in the long run. I hate the taste of energy drinks though, can't stand them.
I drink monster (green + ripper) often because I like the taste, caffeine has never adversely affected me before so I assume it's fine :v: By that I mean drinking caffeine has never done anything for me.
MEANWHILE IN POLAND
Energy Drinks always give me a 'energy' boost for like 1-2 hours and after that you feel tired and broken as shit. So its actually counter productive. I only drink 1 or 2 energy drinks (Cheap Slammer energy) when doing a small movie marathon of a few hours.
Energy drinks are fucking awesome - you just can't drink too much of them - problem solved. It's the same thing with everything ever. You can't consume too much (alcohol, drugs, food, etc) or you'll die. Some things just kill you faster. Don't be dumb and you're good.
Don't drink energy-drinks into an empty stomach. I did it once and it felt like someone was in there, trying to make a knot out of my stomach.
They're pretty good as long as you don't overuse I find it amusing that lots of "illicit" drugs are far safer, where is the "war on energy drinks"? I guess the moralising cunts haven't cottoned on to drugs that have logos with corporate sponsoring and production yet...
I've only had a few energy drinks in my lifetime and they didn't have too much of an effect for me so I didn't buy any more of them. I love coffee, and I will have a cup or two when I need it, but I don't drink it all the time.
I'm sure it's fine to have one once in a while at a LAN party or something.
when i was working at shell, i used to drink energy drinks almost every shift, but they were low on calories and they were not carbonated
I drink rockstar because I like the taste, same for SOBE No fear, but they stopped producing those. For "energy"? No, I can go to sleep right after drinking one. Also 1:48, really? Why would an energy drink be associated with any of that? And no shit drinking an energy drink with alcohol is a bad idea.
I think we all pretty much outgrew the "energy drinks are cool" phase when we turned 16. Of course plenty of people, including myself still partake in energy drinks, almost everyone i know now only drinks them occasionally like in mornings after a rough wakeup and such, and not socially just buying one because you're thirsty. Recently i've been really enjoying red bulls as they're a pretty mellow tastes instead of these WHOA "ULTRA GAMUR FUEL N3WB PWN WATERMEL0N" drinks. But for energy, i'm still a coffee man.

I kinda hate how that video pulls up those peoples deaths, 3 died of overconsumption which can be done with fucking anything and that girl who died after having a heart attack from 2 cans had a confirmed heart problem which she was unaware of, I get the feeling most of it is scare mongering but I will agree that people drink too much of these drinks, myself included and mixing it with alcohol is the stupidest thing you can do. Mixing a stimulant with a depressant...
When living in a country where it is about 3 cups of coffe a day per person, evry day all year. that is around 10950000000 cups of coffe each year in sweden. I would claim that we are used to it. Coffein is good. It is the suger that is bad
If you like red bull, you should try rockstar.
I like redbull, but I didn't like Rockstar

Never tried any energy drinks and will probably keep it that way.
I think Red Bull is overpriced as fuck, and tastes no better than a cheap version of it (tried it for the first time on holiday out of curiosity). Although I do enjoy Monster & Relentless
Energy drinks themselves are unhealthy due to the insane amounts of sugar, but what about caffeine? It seems like everyone here supports the idea that it's unhealthy for your cardiovascular system, but I've also heard it said in the past that it prevents cardiovascular disease. Obviously if you've got a preexisting condition caffeine could agitate that, but on it's own does it really have negative cardiovascular effects? I'll have them once in awhile if I'm really tired at work or school.
I remember a science class i had where the teacher had banned energy drinks, but this one girl brought one anyways. He said she could pour it down the drain or put it in her locker. She left and then came back roughly 20 mins later and when she was asked where she was replied "I was in the bathroom because i was throwing up", turned out she downed the entire bottle the instant she got out of the classroom.
A kid at my school drinks two or three of these things a day. Each one is 32 oz. The worst part about it is that, if I remember correctly, he has pre-existing cardiovascular issues, I don't know how he isn't dead.
The only time I ever have an energy drink is if I have to spend a full night doing work, because 'past' me is a procrastinating asshole.
I personally loathe them. The most caffeine I've ever had is 2 cans of coke zero. I just hate the taste. Yet at my school, it seems everyone is drinking them. There's this one kid who brings 1 book and a pen and the rest of his bag is filled with energy drinks and junk food. I've seen him have at a box of 4 in 1 day once.
I really love soda, so I probably don't have any room to talk, but at least my teeth are only quietly whimpering instead of screaming when I drink energy drinks. [editline]19th August 2012[/editline] Flossing wooo
I'm working for Red Bull since April 2012 and as an employee of course you get enormous amounts of it to drink. In the worst days I drank about 8 cans per day but I really needed it after 10 hours or so working on a Festival or whatever. But after 3 or so months I just grew out of it - it doesn't even taste any more. Also I noticed that my heart had an irregular beat and my stomach began to ache. Once in a while they are perfectly safe IF you do sports and have a more or less healthy attitude. Now I just drink it before important exams and for that purpose it's really great!
I drink them, usually a 500mL can a day (some days I won't have one and a while ago I had a period of not touching them for weeks, sometimes I'll have two a day). I don't get much of an energy hit at all but I like the taste; especially of V, Monster and Mother. Sometimes I'll bring them to school (although they are banned), teachers don't give a fuck about what seniors do so I've never been questioned about it. As my typical school day is 8:15AM to 5PM I'll bring just one can and that will do for drinking (well, aside from water). I don't drink it to show off, I just really like the taste.
