Play with your composition, angle, etc. Experiment instead of taking straight down shots like that. Experiment with the placement and everything. Experiment with working on the image afterwards.
The best advice I can ever give anyone is to take a ridiculous amount of pictures. Try all the angles and setups you can. Digital cameras let us do it, why not take advantage of it?
Abstract... What a bad excuse. Seems like I got it all though, well, with exception of the cheek as the head does not resemble a head except for it's placement.

I dunno, as I said in an earlier post it started as me squiggling in illustrator, and then I turned it into a girl. The shoulder area is where I decided. Whatever floats your boat.
As I've said, I'm not an artist and I don't try to be :D I just made a drawing thingy from starting with squiggly lines.

Got a large piece of paper today for 50 cents, so now I'm testing out a new backdrop and stuff.
Dicking around with my camera and filters.

I love the look of that backdrop. Good work.
Some random stuff I made while learning how to make stuff from scratch in photoshop, adapting techniques from tutorials and stuff.

How do you get that old, 70's style look to photos?
How do you get that old, 70's style look to photos?
It doesn't work on all pictures. You find the colour that is used the most in a picture (its often a blue), for example my picture was blue, and you take the darkest form of that colour, set it as a layer then change the layer effect to exclusion.

Interesting technique!
Here i took some more, the quality is bad because its getting dark and my camera sucks in low light.

I did, I tried a bunch of different backdrops, different angles, nothing just right though.

Try the book idea, but pull away some and show more sorroundings. Like show it resting on the edge of a table or something.

Yeah, I like the effect you have going on there.
Yeah, I like the effect you have going on there.
Yeah the effect is cool, but the subjects suck.
The editing effects don't really mean shit if you don't have a good subject.

This. Well executed, boring style and subjects.
Don't be illin on his subjects man. I like his subjects much more than some of this shit. Guns, and other bullshit. A bottle of cola, a dog, a cul de sac are all so much more interesting and awesome than a guitar or a gun could ever be.
My birthday today, so I made this.

I hate people that makes threads for their birthdays.
It's a mix of sloppiness and lots of detailed work. Not traced in any way unlike a lot of my work.
