Made a crappy logo in paint for an application (and hopefully web service) I'm working on. It is like a contact book plus a flowchart, and it's called Six Degrees.

It's named after the theory that everybody, on average, can be connected together through a string of at most six people.
I am [i]very[/i] foreign to image design, how should I spice this logo up? (Hell, I won't even consider it the logo, just a concept)
Clean lines, shiny lines, connecting lines, and more stylish font.
Thats all you need now-a-days, if its shiny, people will like it.
Arkanj3l, I like the idea. But it's impossible to look at the 6 as a 6. It took me 10-20 seconds to even find out where the 6 were in the connection thingie. I doubt anyone would have read it as "6 degrees" if I ever showed them the logo without any other explanation. They would have just thought it said "degrees".
Try to make the 6 visible, a logo generally has 3-5 seconds to grab ones attention out in the real world, design it with that in mind, something that is simple to see and read that grabs our attention.

Like said, some polishing could do this justice, especially if you work on blending things into the environment. As it is now the buildings don't really look like they are in the water, just put there.

Didn't try to draw Lily Allen if that is what you're referring too, just took the pose and the basics of the head and did my own thing with it, mainly I went for something skeleton-thin, but it ended up in just looking like, well, really weird arms. And obviously big boobs. And as you may or may not see, she is laying on the edge of a cliff.
But of course, I'm not going to hide the fact that I'm horrible at drawing, that drawing took me 2-3 hours, so did the alien thing.
