I went to see him live last week, amazing.
he realized early on that he would never be as good as daft punk so he decided to wear some headgear that was twice the size of both their helmets combined
nobodys' as good at sampling songs like Daft Punk right?
I would say something, but I'll leave it there as that was a pretty nice comeback.
progressive house and electro house producer
Progressive? Hardly, I get bored at about halfway the songs. It's like listening to a loop.
Progressive? Hardly, I get bored at about halfway the songs. It's like listening to a loop.
Progressive is more of a label than the literal definition, but if you've listened to other house music, then yeah hes kinda progressive.
RAT was his best album. It's really, really good. From there it just got more and more generic. I Remember, Strobe are my favourites. [editline]21st December 2010[/editline] lmao nobody's as good silly
I can name at least 3 kill the noise crookers justice
I saw his new album at Best Buy today, I was temped to buy it, maybe I'll pick it up tomorrow.
I don't get all the comparisons to Daft Punk, Deadmau5 isn't sampling stuff is he? I don't really hear any resemblance between Daft Punk and Deadmau5.
Most artists are incompareable even when under the same style. Daft Punk is awesome but is nothing like Deadmau5. Deadmau5 is awesome but is nothing like Daft Punk.
I picked up For Lack of a Better Name among other things after queueing in HMV for about half an hour. I either had to wait the queue out, or forget buying the CD and leave. I think buying it is one of the better decisions I've made in my entire life.
That intro is sooo Minecraft.
I fucking love this song.
I think the dubstep part sounds so out of place. Doesn't fit in really.
Most artists are incompareable even when under the same style. Daft Punk is awesome but is nothing like Deadmau5. Deadmau5 is awesome but is nothing like Daft Punk.
One thing is similar: They are both electronic music. [editline]21st December 2010[/editline] Seriously though, I need more Deadmau5 albums.
I don't get all the comparisons to Daft Punk, Deadmau5 isn't sampling stuff is he? I don't really hear any resemblance between Daft Punk and Deadmau5.
different methods same (virtually) outcome
All sound the same, and all are boring.
All sound the same, and all are boring.
enlighten us to the wonderful music you listen to.
probably m1dy
I fucking love this song.
This is awful.
He is a dumb chain smoker that got his regular teeth replaced with tiny ones, and the ugliest tattoo I have ever seen.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_(dentistry) Read.
First I heard of him was when my mate showed me "Ghosts N Stuff", now I love him...
meh I don't care if it's repetitive, Songs like bot and Lack For a Better Name for example have really nice atmospheres to them so I can listen to them loop all day.
Well, apparently the general consensus is that Deadmau5 is overrated. So I'll just be leaving this thread..
If u wanna be cool u hate on deadmau5
The only song I really know by him is ghosts 'n stuff, all his other songs just don't seem really distinctive to me. I think strobe is pretty awesome though
If you wanna be optimistic you could just think of him experimenting with new sounds. At least thats what I think and I'm a fairly pessimistic person. Either way hes fucking rich now, so I'd imagine it doesn't matter all that much to him anymore. I'm liking Cthulhu sleeps and the sawing sound he has going for it.
I saw his new album at Best Buy today, I was temped to buy it, maybe I'll pick it up tomorrow.
don't buy it, 4x4=12 is awful, and the three good songs on it (everything before, animal rights, and right this second) don't redeem the album for being dubstep shit but then thats just the opinion of a guy that loves house and hates dubstep, so if you like deadmau5 and dubstep, you'll like 4x4=12
I'm not crazy about him, but I have to admit his music is pretty good, I was one of those people expecting to get blown away by his work. So I was a bit let down when I finally decided to give him a try, still good regardless his music just doesn't really leave me feeling electrified or anything. Probably the most accessible electronic artist out there right now. I like complications, reward is cheese, faxing berlin, and you need a ladder. I think Ghosts n' stuff is the most obnoxious "techno-bro" song I've heard in a long while. He's probably most likely hated because most of his listeners are pretty new to electronic music and they act like hes best thing ever when they pretty much know jack shit.
I prefer secondary complications myself, it has a faster pace although "asdfghjkl" will probably always be my favorite deadmau5 track [editline]22nd December 2010[/editline] PS, in response to the OP, the song "faxing berlin" is actually what earned him initial recognition in the electronic/dance scene
http://www.mediafire.com/?53cs7ybirv4ysf2 So this is Limit Break, Mr. Mau5's newest song he just put on Facebook. To me this song is meh. He took the synth and sound from Sofi, added some derpstep, followed by some break elements. It is kinda cool but this is that song that seems like "I'm done being progressive and just recycling old shit". As for hating on the Mau5. I'm mixed about him. I hate his new shit but love his old stuff. I don't consider myself a hater and refuse to go see him. Given the chance to see Mau5 in San Diego I'll go. He still plays his old stuff so I can't refuse. However the path he is taking is making me lose interest in him. There are other really good progressive house artist out there like Chris Lake, Micheal Woods, Axwell, etc.
I heard it too. I didn't listen to the whole thing to be honest. I liked the really raw vibe coming out of the beginning of the song, but I eventually lost interest when that faded away.
