Uh how exactly is a space frigate impossible. At the moment no one is going to put money into building a giant space ship, but it's not like it defies the laws of physics in any way.
the bigger you make a spaceship the more fuel it needs and therefore you have to make it bigger to hold the fuel. it's not really possible with current propulsion technology.
Who said anything about a frigate to begin with anyways?
I would build it and provide an online stream if you guys pay for it :>
I would build it and provide an online stream if you guys pay for it :>
I'll be your astronaut.
I'll be your astronaut.
FPSP (Facepunch Space Programm) doesnt offer any kind of health insurance.
I say we send up a bunch of dildos with it, engraved with the names of all those who donated money to this cause. That way if it gets sucked into space and into a worm hole, and some aliens find it in the future, they'd know their stimulation was all thanks to us.:ghost::pipe::byobear:
I wouldn't do this, costs too much money. If you are, send up some explosive and then make the rocket ignite it and drop it down to earth! Fireworks!
:ghost::pipe::byobear:
Why do you put these after all of your posts?
I wana send a dog but like i'd wrap him up in insulation and give him a bottle of oxygen and a fan to survive but not really into space just about there so he could still be alive! then i'd also have a parachute so he/ or she could come back safely! do you think it would work? p.s I would use balloons to get the dog up there then at a hight unknown yet a device pops the balloons like a pin on a??? hmm still needs work but you get the idea! :-) [editline]04:41PM[/editline] Go FPSP!
It's not FPSP, it's FAP, get it right
Facepunch Astronautics Program? Aeronautics is in NASA's name, but it's solely air navigation, I believe. What would astronautical navigation be? Astrogation?
Facepunch Astronautics Program?
Aeronautics.
But the Idea is solid!
But the Idea is solid!
Yes now we just need parts and schematics for the rocket.
In order to escape earth's gravity we would need to go at least 7 miles per second. That's 25,200 miles an hour (40,555 kph). Good luck getting anything going that fast short of hijacking a NASA Shuttle. But either way I'm all for the Facepunch Space Administration [editline]04:30PM[/editline] I just did some Googling. The most powerful (amateur) model rockets are E-Class. I couldn't find a site that sold them, so I don't know their cost. Maybe if we make a strong housing out of something (PVC?) and put them inside with the camera and navigation equipment (isolated, of course) we could launch the entire housing up in a weather balloon, and when it bursts, we activate the rocket motors to get as high as we can. Perhaps we could even set a record of some sort. I think maybe "Highest Altitude Achieved by Internet Forum?"

BTW In the last 4 years, China was busy making missiles deploy-able from aircraft to hit satellites.
We should send one of these to space.
We can use it as the balloon! :clownballoon:
YEs my doggy is going to space!
How about a model rocket with the balloon above it? We can house the camera and GPS device inside the model rocket, make the rocket out of lightweight materials and have a nifty launch view from inside the cockpit. Wouldnt even be that hard to do.
You guys are over-thinking this, just set the thruster force to 999999999.
But what about the effects and sounds though
But what about the effects and sounds though
No sound in space, but this is technically still within the atmosphere but all you would hear is air blasting the mic.
Count me in :3
You guys are over-thinking this, just set the thruster force to 999999999.
Its not Gmod dude!
Due to lack of gravity its inpossible to take a shit in space. so there. Trrek to space ruined
should i make a large donation i demand that my username and avatar be placed in a spot where it would be visible in front of the camera

Ten pounds of gunpowder and an unexploded nuke
