no idea but add fruit juice and an umbrella and call it liver punch
Cuz it's gonna punch his liver into oblivion :v:
I'm my conputer ethics class we watched a vid of this bioethics guy talking about how a deaf couple wanted to have a baby. They came in and were assured their baby would be healthy and embryos would be screened to make sure it's not deaf. The parents claimed, however, that they specifically wanted to screen for and birth a deaf child. They believe that they have lived full lives even being deaf and want their child to be born deaf. The conpany disagreed and said they'd only screen embryos to help children, not to disable them. The parents went to a different company which actually did that for them. It's interesting

The scenario was, would someone who has perfectly functioning artificial limbs be considered 'disabled' or handicapped. Thanks to technology their function is returned thus their missing part has no more effect. Consider people with glasses today, you wouldn't consider them disabled or handicapped but that also goes along with societal's definition as time and tech goes on. I believe it would be unethical to not follow the will of the parents, you can live a capable life without it, go for it. It is not like you get the same child if you choose with hearing or without, either way you are choosing a cell to live or die.
Dawn of the last day.... Gonna keep on not smoking today seems like it should be easy. Let's see how long I can last this time
Guys you should get in the tinychat, it's pretty lonely.
took 30 mgs of vicodin about 15 minutes ago, plus 250 mgs Roboxin (half of one) 2 25 mg DPH, about another 10 mgs of DXM poli, and tums beforehand as well as half of a peanut butter granola bar thingy. might as well just take that other 250 mgs of roboxin. gonna have a toke in a few when it kicks in then figure out what to play..maybe dota cause those new changessssss my dad is in the hospital though :( think his blood pressure was really high but I think he got sick from smoking again..(he has this rare condition of sorts that after a certain threshold of daily use [ie doesn't just happen after he takes a hit] he gets violently ill), he thinks it has something to do with his potassium cause if he takes supplements/gets enough potassium he's usually fine. I hope he's okay..and apparently something happened or some shit with my ex cause she told me "long story" earlier after saying she guesses she's okay, so I have no idea what happened cause text stopped but whatever. I needed this opidose, finally can escape for a few hours and ooooooooooo I feel goood already. plus coffee mmmmmmmmmm. [editline]24th September 2014[/editline] sitting here moaning it feels soo good lol

You are making a permanent decision for someone who will someday become an adult. You may have given them life, but you also deprived them of a choice. Preference philosophy yo

meh the ex thing was just some stupid drama with the cheer team she coaches lol.
I need alcohol.

The drawer where I keep my stash box smells like weed whenever I open it even though I've got it stored (weed -> cannister -> ziploc -> box -> ziploc) I've also got a good amount of evidence of other things I should dispose of before I leave...
It's a different situation. You are making a permanent decision for someone who will someday become an adult. You may have given them life, but you also deprived them of a choice. Preference philosophy yo
I'm assuming in a world where you can screen people for deafness and purposefully select a deaf or non deaf child, chances are there is tech to deal with deafness, thus it's not an end all be all choice. Right here you have parents who can choose whether or not to use a technology, sure it'd be silly not to use but there are still freedoms (like the stupid freedom to not vaccinate your child but that's not exactly positive). Ethics wise the researcher or doctor must almost always follow the client's orders, unless the client is in imminent danger of death of course, so it is their duty to respect the choice of the participant. I really feel like the important part is also the fact that the child is being screened, it is not making a healthy baby deaf but rather choosing one life over another, which again I feel that the parents have the right to choose.
thought the dota update came out but didnt yet, still had fun tho. smoked a hit before bed
sleep in til 2pm best way to spend my, likely, last wednesday of total freedom [editline]24th September 2014[/editline] now to sit and contemplatively reflect, and reminisce

But what's the point of a choice if there are no repercussions? Although if you're thinking about the happiness of the future child regardless of whichever one, the hearing child might be better off. Even though a deaf child once it came of awareness could choose to have hearing again, I'd imagine its speech development would be a few years behind its peers.

Even though a deaf child once it came of awareness could choose to have hearing again, I'd imagine its speech development would be a few years behind its peers.
Exactly that. The child would never be able to hear it's mother voice, birds chirping, enjoy music or hell even tv-shows. I really think choices like that are unethical, you are taking away something from your child only because you didn't have it 'and was happy with that'. Wouldn't you like want your child to have something more than you then? Maybe enjoy life a little bit more? Sure, maybe as an adult he could get something to hear again, but he will be many years behind when it comes to recognizing sounds or learning how to speak. You could say it's choice of the parents since the child can't decide for themselves, but wouldn't that mean you willingfully harm the child in a way, by handicapping him?
When I stop worrying about things and get out of my own head; when I focus on my self and getting my own shit done for me that's when things start happening i don't get it. I mean like, it happens so indirectly it doesn't even make sense the call back from the job happened when I stopped worrying about whether or not I was going to get work I stop worrying about my attraction and then she starts interacting more with me it's like, I'm not even doing anything particularly different that these things would know about, cause I mostly keep quiet and too my self whether i'm worried or active it just lines up for when i'm not worried and fully confident in myself, and start doing my own thing it doesn't make sense, i'm assuming it's coincidental but god damn it's been more and more like this lately

I'm coming to the conclusion that I need to be sober for a while for my mental and physical health, so I'm going to try to get a gram of dankity dank tonight to end off my vaping for a while. And man, you guys get searched and stuff at your school? I live in a pretty small town (has its pros and cons) and that's basically unheard of unless you get directly caught or reported, or the dogs come in like once a year but they just run past the lockers.
i was once caught with amphetamine at school, but i talked my way out of that one.
i used to skip classes to pick up weed for mates had sessions on the oval go to classes high never got caught, searched, whatever. life was pretty chill back then tonight is pretty chill as well
