seriously, why did this thread die off? Does anybody have anything to add about their projects? Ive already written up 5 pages full in my notebook (with the outside margins filled in with notes) about my screenplay idea. Anybody else started on outlining their idea?

I wrote my story as a short film a year ago, I've developed it a lot more.
I've added a narrative, it's going to be a bit like Taxi Driver.
I need a story for a school play thing, but a hundred pages?
I don't think I understand. Is there a template on how to write it? Can I just write it like a story?
I have, two days before start date, decided to go with a completely different story. So Im interested on seeing how this turns out.

Its 100 pages of a screeplay which is different than a novel. A novel is just a story, and screenplay is how a story plays out on screen (or stage, comic etc.).
This page will tell you how to write what medium you're going to be using: http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/eng/howtoguides
Im writing a screen play for a movie.

Although novels are also optional.
Really? I thought it was only screenplays, or scripts.

I decided mine is going to be about a guy who becomes deeply involved in the gang underworld of a large city through unconventional means.

Eh, sound's like an excellent plot.
I am going to do this.
Well guys, the frenzy starts tomorrow!
Y'all got your stories set?
Ugh, I wrote up most of the outline for my new screenplay. still stuck on filler material though. Goodluck everybody.
My screenplay is a contemporary sci-fi action story set within the architecture of the mind. It's about a world where technology exists to enter the human mind through dream invasion. In this world a highly skilled thief is given a final chance at redemption which involves executing his toughest job to date: INCRETPLEMENDUCIENESTION
I think it's bloody clever, but tell me if anything similar has been done already.

Dude.
You like totally ripped off [sp]Scrooge McDuck[/sp]
He did this years ago!
I changed my mind last night, my script will be an idea I've been developing for some time now.
You can read the excerpt here.
Well Ive already smashed down 26 pages. What do you guys have?
32 now. Anybody else?
Shit I'm totally empty on material..
I've got 3 pages.

Just got to get the right mood going..
maybe we should all make a script together. A Facepunch musical.
Dammit I wish I wasn't so stupid, This looks like fun. Plus I have infinite time on my hands..
It's not too late. My friend smashed out 50 pages in one night. So you could easily catch up.
What's your progress?
I've managed 8 pages.
I've just got to lock myself in my room with headphones, disconnect my internet and just fucking write.
I've done it before, I'll do it again.
Still 32 pages. Havent written in a while. Its funny because me and my friend normally play video games on the weekend pretty much all Saturday. This last Sat we sat down to write. We hardly spoke for the whole day. Was odd to see us both quiet.
I'm really glad I found this thread. Writing is taking a lot of things off of my mind right now. And before this I never thought about writing a screenplay for a movie, but I liked writing. problem was that I honestly couldnt write a novel, I always described the scenes too visually. Turns out I was writing like I would a screenplay without even knowing it.

Same thing was going on with me.
I visualized way too much.

yeah, Yesterday I was listening to some music on shuffle, then Hypnotize by Audioslave came on, and my mind just created a full scene for my movie. So when I got home I wrote it down and it fits perfectly.

Awesome!
My top inspiration for storylines is without a doubt music.
Its hard for me to listen to really unique/cool (i.e. not rap/pop mainstream stuff thats just smashed sounds) and not imagine a scene for it. Its hard to explain what I mean, but the music has to be atmospheric and have........ "flavor". Does that make sense?
That is why I think I should start my film making with music videos. I would even be happy making non-profit videos. All I need is a nice camera and sound equipment and a computer for editing. Due to me being in college I am more than sure I could find actors that would work for free. AND I know a little bit about video editing. So I need $3,000 for a camera. $700-$1000 for a new computer, and I dont know how much for sound equipment. Then I could get songs I love and start making vidoes for them and release them unofficially. So for cost....... Im only about $4,300 short. :saddowns:

I have also heard of a few film makers starting in music videos, and successfully going into the film industry.
