When did you get off the medicine? You should consult a doctor or read the instruction thing that came with the medicine because chances are that either the effects takes a while to set. And remember a drastic change in your medicine intake could have side effects, so look into that too.
You're dead.

That's all thats on it, on both of them. Drenatrophin PMG is to reduce stress, Valerian Root is for anxiety and insomnia. Neither are working.

Yes
Yes
Well, that changes things. Has it gotten better/worse since then?
>Trouble sleeping, have to take assorted meds (Drenatrophin PMG, Valerian Root).
These are pseudo-meds and unlikely FDA approved, gj
These are pseudo-meds and unlikely FDA approved, gj
Not everything the FDA approve is perfect and there are other drugs that are good for you that they have not yet approved. So I don't think that their lack of approval affects much in this case.

When you take your chances on drugs/herbs that are not FDA approved or rather bypass the FDA, you definitely need to research them not take them for word by the label, seriously it can fuck you up. [editline]2nd December 2010[/editline] One of the side effects for one leads to depression, lmao
Take your medicine, my child.
Well, that changes things. Has it gotten better/worse since then?
Worse
Few adverse events attributable to valerian have been reported. Large doses or chronic use may result in stomachache, apathy, and a feeling of mental dullness or mild depression... Because the compounds in valerian produce central nervous system depression, they should not be used with other depressants, such as alcohol, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, or opiates... Long-term use in a male has also been associated with benzodiazepine-like withdrawal symptoms, resulting in cardiac complications and delirium...
All from wikipedia. Do you drink much? It could be the cause of the feelings your having? You been taking it since you where 8? I looked up Delirium as I didn't know what it was and it said this
Inability to focus attention, confusion and disorientation
If your not focused time could pass faster? Delirium: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delirium#Signs_and_symptoms [editline]2nd December 2010[/editline]
Worse
Do your parents know? How long on average with the Valerian Root does it take you to sleep?
Would the fact that you're not getting enough sleep have anything to do with the time passing quickly and vaguely? Whenever I stay up all night the next day flashes by weirdly, it feels like I'm in a dream.
Tell your parents they've been making you take shit herbal meds that do more bad than good, then slap them across the face with medical facts.
>If I stare at an object, often a person's face long enough, I begin seeing a sort of tunnel vision picture where their head becomes small and everything else becomes blurred/distorted like you're looking at them through a magnifying glass. It's possible that I'm not paying attention, but the thing is is that I don't remember most of the day and it's all a blur, I'll get off of it.

I would advise going without it for a little while see how you go.
For sure, thanks :unsmith:
After some time come and tell me how it went?
Because oddly enough I feel as though facepunch would offer logical enough answers than going to a clinic and getting loaded up on meds and a 600$ bill.
Hi. Dr. Facepunch here! My diagnosis is that you're crazy and stupid. And cheap. I recommend drugs.
After some time come and tell me how it went?
Definately, in a PM
ask a doctor
He's right. Ask me.
I cant sympathize with you with an avatar like that. It's just too cool.
I used to experience these symptoms when I was about your age too. I thought I was losing my mind as well, but now I realise that it's all about growing up. The feelings of unreality you mentioned are either depersonalisation or derealisation - both of which are normal parts of being human. Depersonalisation is more of a feeling that you are not yourself; a feeling that you are detached from your body and personality, and that you don't quite recognise yourself anymore. Derealisation is the general feeling that nothing is real. I read somewhere that approximately 70% of the population will experience these feelings at some point in their lives, yet anyone can have them. They're generally symptoms of another ailment, typically anxiety or depression. The feelings can even be brought on by pharmaceutical drugs - I had DP/DR for a few months when I was taking antihistamines (of which, I presume, were the cause). Perhaps the drenatrophin may have something to do with it? All things considered, its perfectly normal to feel this way and eventually these feelings will pass. You should get involved in an activity you enjoy doing, or even work on a project to keep yourself occupied. I wouldn't take medication for it though. For the time being you may find it difficult to ignore these feelings - I was the same - but with learning about these sensations you'll soon be able to return to your normal life. :) ☮
I've been proffesionally diognose with depression and anxiety, I have the same symptoms as you, so I just blame it on then and accept the fact I'm a nutjob.
if you were PROFFESIONALLY DIOGNOSE then you're ok
if you were PROFFESIONALLY DIOGNOSE then you're ok
I posted that when I just woke up, no need to be a tool.
Could be Depression? and it also sounds like you have a bit of Depersonalisation. Wikipedia it. Also most people have some kind of OCD.
Basically this. Depression is just a blanket term; depersonalisation has some quite specific attributes which really fit with what you're saying. One of my acquaintances had a pre-disposition to mental illness, smoked too much weed one night and wasn't the same for months.
I don't do drugs, the worst I do is smoke salvia occasionally, and that's only once every few months.
Aha. Ahahaa. OK, you need to understand that salvia is a very potent psychedelic. If you have, as I already mentioned, any pre-disposition to psychological disorders (which it might appear you do: meds) then even occasional use may not be a good idea. I'm not saying salvia is the problem, but you know better than most that the effects of it are staggeringly like enhanced versions of the symptoms you've just listed. Don't brush it away as "I don't do drugs, just this herbal shit which fucks with my perception of reality on a base level, and now I don't understand why my perception of reality is messed up." Trust me however, you're not any less real than the rest of us ;D
See a psychologist. Maybe its not physical.
