They're making it do shit it was never designed to do. It used to be you's switch on the 360 and launch a game in 10 seconds. Now it takes a good 30 seconds just to get onto the bloated, poorly designed dashboard. When you launch a game you have to wait a few seconds, sometimes up to 10, when you choose to launch a game as the system shuts down the dashboard and launches the game.
360 in 2007 > 360 in 2013

Are you implying that the lagtastic blades dashboard which would stutter and skip blades way too often worked better?
I can go from turning on my 360 to playing whatever game is in the disk drive in about 12 seconds, don't know what your problem is. The console is from 2007 and has gone through all the blades and NXE dashboards and all that without trouble, so.

Playing games with friends, even if you don't know them in real life, is much more fun than playing with AI.

The Xbox is literally worthless nowadays besides a small amount of exclusives. Everything else is available and plays better on other platforms.

What's with all the color coding on the chart?
[editline]5th June 2013[/editline]
And if the Green on that chart is supposed to signify a game being good, why the fuck is Halo 4 in the green?

Because some people liked Halo 4? I did.

I'm pretty sure it's size of the audience it's designed to appeal to, green being the widest intended consumer base and red or gray being the most niche.

I'm pretty sure it's measure of quality and worthiness as an exclusive. Most of the games in the red zone got bad reviews, and the green zone games mostly got good reviews:
IE: Games like Steel Battalion and Hyperdimension Neptunia in the red, with amazing games like Yakuza 4 in the green whilst it's less well received spinoff Dead Souls is in the Yellow.

IE: If it was based on mainstream appeal vs Niche, then Dead Souls would be in the green with Yakuza 4.

Metacritic scores. Wow, other people like different games!
I'll be getting the console with more MGS stuff on it which is probably the PS4.
I do wonder if console gaming will take a turn from here. The similar architecture among consoles and the PC could mean easier ports for devs with second thoughts about going exclusive.
The one big important hardware difference among gaming platforms seems to be portability and not share buttons or another Kinect. Nintendo probably could've latched onto that market as easily as it did with motion controls for the Wii if they hadn't fucked up their game lineup. Now none of the three seems to be getting that cake any time soon.
Just imagine what if these console lineups dried up and paved the way for Apple to get a console out.
tbh i think that this generation of consoles isn't going to be bad
seems like they have good releases lined up, not the awful 599.99 no games release for the ps3, the awful RRROD + no games release for the 360, and the wii being the wii

exclusives will never go away. never.
if exclusives didn't exist, consoles wouldn't sell.

Yeah, now it's currently no games for the Wii U, Microsoft doing god knows what along with having no games, and the Ps4 being the Ps4
I bought the Wii U and I liked it. But I haven't touched it in months only because there's like no games for it. Nobody has the Wii U, yet almost everyone I know has a Wii. Did the Wii take off immediately and is there still a chance for the Wii U?

The Wii took off like fucking crazy
The Wii U has a shit launch because they got no games. just like the 3DS. The MOMENT they announce all of the big shit next week, sales will spike up

Exactly, I'm wanting a 3DS cause of Animal Crossing. If they were to announce a new Metroid title for either of those platforms? I'd be saving my paychecks in an instant.

Not necessarily. To some people using a console is just more convenient than using a PC for gaming, especially now considering its new "home media center" billing.
