Radical Feminists Trying to Attack and Desecrate a Cathedral, Peaceful Defenders Attacked.
There is a double standard when it comes to number of sexual partners. If a guy had many sexual partners it's a positive thing and he's a macho or whatever. When a woman had many sexual partners it's a negative thing and she's considered a slut or something. Now if you remove this double standard you will treat men like that different than before (it's no longer going to be a positive thing for a man) and you will treat women like that different than before (it's no longer going to be a negative thing for a woman), but both genders are going to be treated equally (compared to each other). I don't see that as a negative thing at all. The goal is to treat both genders equally in the end. When I said that it's discrimination I wasn't talking about treating genders different than we are treating them right now, I was talking about treating genders differently in the end. I was talking about creating new double standards, beneficial to women. For instance that you can't discriminate men at all or that even if you do, it's not as bad as discriminating women. It's a double standard and someone who advocates equality can't support double standards.
And I know perfectly well that feminism is about fighting for gender equality, you don't have to explain this to me like you're the only one who knows what he's talking about. I've been arguing this entire time that it shouldn't be portrayed as fight against men. But you can't do that because apparently you can't openly disagree with another feminist who DOES try to make it a war against men (since feminism is such a broad term), and since media report only those instances, it becomes the (biased) face that the feminism has. So if you can't portray feminism as a movement beneficial to everyone then make a different movement, whith a different name and a stricter definition but which still has the same goals. That's what people who call themselves equalists or egalitarians are trying to achieve.
Please next time read the thread before jumping to conclussions.
i still fail to see where men are men are being treated differently in the end? we haven't reached gender equality? and well, the news is sensationalist, especially on facepunch, almost everyone that posts articles has an agenda and it's a pretty obvious one at that, why not use a little critical thinking? do you think all blacks are violent because of all those articles about the knock out game and the justice 4 trayvon bullshit? do you think all israelis are vicious anti-palestinian mass murderers? why should we have to change because you refuse to understand us?
then i should be allowed to say that you should be permanently banned for being an objectively bad poster who should evacuate the internet
you should probably just do this anyway, and take yawmwen with you
and maybe lachz0r for good measure
nice one dude you sure showed me. laughing at the guy who hasn't added anything to the conversation at all calling other people bad posters
for everyone posting about "ugh radical feminists" look at this neat definition.
What? How hard is this to understand? Equality is equality. Everything above equality is above equality. If you want equality AND compensation, then it's not really equality is it?
straight up saying we don't need feminism or any other equal rights movement is stupid. if today's society attempted to treat everyone equally everyone would get fucked. that's the entire reason why people fight against institutionalized racism, sexism, homophobia, etc, because minorities need protection.
look at any point in history. look at what's happened to unprotected minorities.
they don't achieve anything but confusion, division, and underming the idea of gender equality.
Yes they want division, division from radical feminists and from people who call themselves feminists who want female domination or whatever. And how is fighting for equal rights under a different name undermining the idea of gender equality?
btw if the word egalitarianism caught steam then you would have the "radical egalitarians" on the news all the time.
[editline]6th December 2013[/editline]
it doesn't fucking matter who we separate from because the media will ALWAYS equate the two.
But you create a stricter definition for it. It wouldn't be like feminism where you can't say that someone is a bad feminist or that he shouldn't call himself that (according to you and yours alike). And the definition would exclude extreminsts from being egalitarians.
i still fail to see where men are men are being treated differently in the end?
If someone's end game is to create female domination or if that person creates double standards beneficial to women, then this is what I'm talking about.
we haven't reached gender equality?
Never said that?

What does it have to do with what I said? Is it some mad strawman or you just don't have any idea what I'm talking about because you still haven't read the thread?
why should we have to change because you refuse to understand us?
On what ground do you get the idea that I don't understand something? I said that I know that feminism is about gender equality, or you are not even reading what you're replying to? That's why I don't like when people, including people from within the movement, portray advocating gender equality as fight againt men.

You've just crossed most of facepunch's feminists off the list.

I didn't say we don't need feminism. I was just poiting out that if you want something else than equality then it's not really equality and hence not really feminism.
Desecrating a cathedral is pretty radical, but when the people associated with that cathedral, Christians, are throwing rocks at you, don't fucking act surprised when people retaliate.
Gender equality is a delusion. It only creates friction between the perfectly natural symbiosis between men and women. We want strong men and strong women. Not bitches and haters.
I ask you all this. How many women do you see working as construction workers or on ships? How many men work as nurses and primary school teachers? Where is the so called equality in society? I can't see it, nothing has changed.

i dunno dude, >>>>MAYBE THEY'RE NOT CONSTRUCTION WORKERS, SHIP WORKERS, OR OTHER ~MACHO~ PROFESSIONS BECAUSE SOCIETY TELLS THEM THEY CAN'T<<<<<
i don't even know why i'm replying to you, considering that you said "Gender equality is a delusion."

noones advocating that we have female dominance in the end, YOU'RE the one that treats feminism as a movement against men
noones advocating that we have female dominance in the end,
There are people (including posters on this site) advocating that there should be gender equality and on top of that men should pay women compensation or that men should have it worse, and there are people (including posters on this site) creating and perpetuating gender double standards negative for men. Stop with the "I now everything attitude" seriously.
YOU'RE the one that treats feminism as a movement against men
You've just quoted this:
I said that I know that feminism is about gender equality, or you are not even reading what you're replying to? That's why I don't like when people, including people from within the movement, portray advocating gender equality as fight against men.
And you still say bullshit like that. Again, do you even read what you're replying to?
