I went to the gym 3 days in a week and worked out for 1-3 hours with a friend and that helped me alot.
I used to go to the gym but I never got the results I wanted. Plus it was boring as fuck.
Attempt to acquire a drumset and learn to play them like a madman. I dropped 30 lbs from playing them like a madman, over the course of about 3 or so months.
The only problem is now I need to play about 4 times what I used to to burn weight.
Want to loose weight? P90x.
Sure you could sign up for a gym, learn a proper routine, ect, but with P90x you have no excuse to miss a day. It's a complete package, including what workouts you do, 6 nights a week for 13 weeks. Unless you live right beside a gym, getting to a gym during winter can be an inconvenience, and it's very easy for someone new to make up an excuse (even if it's valid) for missing a day. Not with P90x. It can also be hard to work out at a gym if it closes early, or on a holiday. I often work out past 8pm, so even if you get home late you'll still be able to get your workout done.
It also comes with a nutrition planner. So you can fix your diet up too.
I agree also with the above. I plan to do that program starting in a couple weeks and I've been reading it really helps
Only drink water and eat nothing for 3 weeks.
You will be shocked how much weight you lose!

It's going to be hard to loose weight without any cash to spare. I dunno how else to help you :( I'd honestly say it's worth getting a job for. Feeling better about yourself can make your life 100x better in ways you never imagined. Just my experience with it though.
A good way to start is jogging/cardio. You can really kick your ass just by jogging up and down the street. If it's too cold out the gym is great for treadmills and stuff. But gaining muscle is also a great way to loose fat.
I guess the reason I like P90x is because it gets you in the right mindset. You won't just be working out, you'll be thinking of other healthy benefits to help you see results. You'll probably drop any unhealthy eating habits, whether it be junk food, eating late, eating fast food, ect, because those foods will really damage your results. You could actually save yourself money depending on how often you eat out.
I have, over the last 2 months, lost 10kg by stopping
*Drinking Energy Drinks
*Drinking Soft/Fizzy Drinks (whatever you call them in your country - coke, doctor pepper etc)
*Eating so much (I now eat smaller meals).
I also count calories occasionally. If I need a snack, it's got to be under 400Kilojoules. I don't worry about counting calories at dinner or breakfast. Basically, I cut out a ton of sugar rubbish and did nothing different and lost heaps of fat. I was at 102kg and I am now at 91. At my height, just over 6ft, I should be at about 79kg apparently, but when I was, I was thinner than David Tennant, so I'll be stopping at around 88kg, stuff whatever BMI says.
EDIT: OH yeah, I forgot, I started walking/jogging - I do it at night, however, my physio told me it's better to do it in the morning. Wake up, have a banana and go for a jog. Something about metabolism. I can't use gym equipment because I broke both my arms recently (well, wrist on left, elbow on right), and it is still healing. I normally do a walk run combo for about 30-40 minutes over maybe 4kms?
EDIT2: Breaking that 100kg mark was the deal breaker for me.

Why would you want to be fat? If you don't like being underweight, try to make up for it with muscle not fat.
It's worth mentioning that weight is only a number. It's a good place to start (trying to loose pounds) but what's to say you won't just put the weight back on when you quit the diet? I've seen that happen all the time with older people, they think that dieting is the only answer to getting in shape.
I guess that's why I focus on exercise over diet. It's all about getting into the right mindset if your serious about it. How you go about doing that is up to you, a huge motivation are friends who can help you. If your doing this all on your own, goodluck.

To not be underweight just work out a lot(join a sport or go to a boxing gym) and get muscle weight instead of just fat.

Don't do this.
You will put the weight back on like crazy. Just be sensible. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you should be losing anywhere from 500grams to 2kgs a week. Also, drink water. Water adds weight (to the scales, but not fat duh), but if you don't drink water, it's like you are losing weight (and fast), but in reality, you are only losing water, and you will get the worst headaches ever and won't be able to sleep.
