I am very busy so going to the gym is quite an inconvenience, what do I do to excercise? Jog. I do 2 - 3 laps around my town 2 - 3 times a week. It also helps relieve stress. It helps and you will feel much better after. Start by walking normally, prefarably slow walking, then gradually increase your speed when you think it's time to take it to the next level. Slow walking - Walking - Power Walking - Slow running - Running. ^ You are here. It took me 2 months to go from walking to slow running. Doing marathons should also help, and participate in them. Don't take them to the extreme if you just started. 2 - 4 km max is fine for a start. Hope I helped!

Running burns 100 calories a mile at a 6 minute pace. So if you do an average 5 mile run, you'll burn around 400 calories (because presumably you can't keep up a 6 minute mile for that long). Also, running sends messages to the brain that you're full, so the advantages stack up even after you stop.
