I prefer to ignore that movie though and say Weapon X was in the early '90's.
Cause it was 15 years prior to X-Men and X2, and those were in the near future relative to 2000, and X3 is confirmed being in 2006 and takes place pretty shortly after X2, and if Origins is canon still, it fucks with that (why would scott be a pussy crybaby for a whole decade, for example)

Not necessarily.. he's being sued, not arrested. and tbh it smells like bullshit anyway. also on a side note, i'm curious as to how it could be statutory rape if the kid was 17. 17 is the legal age of consent in every state that i'm aware of, and in some states it's 16, even.
Anyway... i'm incredibly excited about this film but after seeing all these trailers, the Beast thing is really bugging me.

Bryan Singer was born in New York where the age of consent is 17 and Michael F Egan, the accuser, was born in Nevada where the age of consent is 16. The civil lawsuit was filed in Hawaii where the age of consent is currently 16 though it was 14 at the time the act supposedly occurred. A separate incident also apparently occurred in California where the age of consent is 18 which would make the act statutory rape. Depending on what state they had sex in it could either be consensual sex or statutory rape.
However the act was supposedly actual rape, rather than just statutory rape, so regardless of the ages and various laws involved it would still be illegal.
I never really kept up with X-Men, but does the fact that Trask is an anagram of Stark mean anything? or am I just being stupid?

The early reviews for ASM2 were just as positive and look at what happened there.
