The early reviews for ASM2 were just as positive and look at what happened there.
Yes but it's not really good to go by reviews, you form an opinion about a movie without actually seeing it. When you do go to see it you have an opinion based on other people's opinions. I've seen movies that I loved and critics hated. Going to see TASM2 soon and I'm not going to go into it trying to find stuff to hate, I'm going to enjoy it.
The early reviews for ASM2 were just as positive and look at what happened there.
Maybe but if they were all shit we would know it was going to be a pretty bad movie.
i went to ASM 2 itching to enjoy it and was severely disappointed with what i got. id reccommend going in with low expectations
The early reviews for ASM2 were just as positive and look at what happened there.
Werent the initial results from press screenings very mixed because I remember a large discussion in the ASM2 thread involving the mixed tweets
An ample amount of Quicksilver action [editline]10th May 2014[/editline] And you should ignore those "reviews" because http://screenrant.com/green-lantern-reviews-previews-sandy-118704/

Storm, Cyclops and Jean Gray confirmed for X-Men: Apocalypse
The early reviews for ASM2 were just as positive and look at what happened there.
i'll tell you what happened there. We got the best spider-man movie ever made. Sure, the original SM2 is great whenever Doc Oc and Jameson are on screen, but otherwise it was pretty boring. I remember seeing it in the theater and a large group of black people audibly sighing during every MJ and Parker scene. Not really sure why i find that relevant, but black people usually know what they're talking about. ASM2 was the best that a spider-man movie can possibly be. Anyone that says otherwise is nothing but a dumbass nerd wannabe film buff that think they can write better screenplays from the basement of their parents' house.

I thought that by now, you guys would learn that majority of "early reviews" is paid by the producers. Especially these posted by random bloggers on Twitter.

Huh, I'm surprised. A part of me thought this was going to be as bad as X-Men 3. Let us wait and see.
Empire review: http://www.empireonline.com/reviews/reviewcomplete.asp?FID=138033
The best X-Men film since the second one, this sequel/ prequel/reboot trashes the ’70s with élan. Some of the massive cast struggle to register (there’s only a brief Storm), but what’s here is all good. We want X-Men: Apocalypse, now.
Meanwhile, let the Tomatometer race begin.
And meanwhile, Channing Tatum is confirmed as Gambit.
Odd choice for Gambit. Josh Holloway would've killed it as Gambit.
Odd choice for Gambit.
I can see it.
I can see it.
can totally work but he definitely wouldn't be my first choice
gambit needs to be someone slender and tall, not this cunt
An ample amount of Quicksilver action ]
god i hate evan peters' face every time I see it I just want to hit it with a 2x4 marky mark style
It seems like the critics are liking this film. It's been keeping a steady 94% on the Tomatometer. Then again, do be wary. Amazing Spider-Man 2 started out just the same, and this consensus is based on reviews from 17 critics. A movie coming out this week has almost 100 critics. Things could easily shift to the other side in a few days.
looking forward to Tatum as Gambit. It's a character he's wanted to do for a long time now (ever since trying out for the role for x3 before the idea was cut). I think he knows how the character needs to be delivered and he can probably do the accent better than anyone considering he's straight out the bayous .
god i hate evan peters' face every time I see it I just want to hit it with a 2x4 marky mark style
i think it's the awful hair/hat/goggles combo that does it for me.
The death scenes in this movie, holy fuck, that was way more brutal than I expected. [sp]Colossus gets fucking torn in half, jesus christ[/sp] [editline]22nd May 2014[/editline] Also who is that in the post-credit scene ?
Eh, did you see an early screening? Is it any good?
I didn't even know the movie was out until some friend told me it was out and we just went to see it like an hour after. It's really good. Way less action than anticipated, surprisingly slow paced at times and the characters are fleshed the fuck out which feels weird for an X-Men movie. Very few straight-up mutant showcase scenes (there's one really good scene with Quicksilver where you just see the world at his speed and it's gorgeous), it's mostly centered on drama and such. The movie feels drastically different in future and past scenes which is a good idea. The future segments (there's very few of them) are brutal as shit and even though they manage to not show any blood or very little blood you still see mutants get impaled, torn in half, decapitated, burnt alive, etc, you can tell why the future is so dire. And the "new" sentinels (the ones from the future) are intimidating as fuck. Oh and Wolverine isn't actually the center of the movie for once, big kudos for making him a more secondary character and focusing on mystique/xavier/magneto instead.
