Oh and Wolverine isn't actually the center of the movie for once, big kudos for making him a more secondary character and focusing on mystique/xavier/magneto instead.
are you telling me an x-men movie is about the x-men?!
It was so nice to see Logan get so happy when he saw [sp]Jean all alive and well at the end but too bad Scott had to interrupt the moment![/sp] Movie was a 9/10 too
I liked the movie for sure, but will have to see it again to fully comprehend everything. [sp]And the person at the end was Apocalypse, the first mutant, who will be the center of attention in the next movie.[/sp]
I get to see this movie and Godzilla in a double feature tomorrow! exciting stuff!
In my city they are only screening versions of the movie with portuguese voice over Fuck this unfair world
Good to see there's a positive reception to this movie. Shame I'm going to be out of town on a cruise this weekend so I'll have to wait to see it.
Fucking. Brilliant. Movie.
it's kind of fucked up that once [sp]wolverine saves the future, that version of himself is sent back to it with no memory of the new one. like, the wolverine everyone else knew since 73 is just fucking gone. he might have been a totally different person. and technically, the one that was still there before new wolverine took over, never actually saved the future himself. he woulda been so confused. so maybe he was still a huge asshole too. either way, a consciousness with unique feelings and memories just got killed. that's kinda messed.[/sp] [editline]23rd May 2014[/editline] unless he'd regain the memories slowly? also, wouldn't dystopian future charles always know what's happening in the past, because wolverine is changing stuff and charles' memories would be changing too? fucking time travel strikes again

There's also the possibility that their memories change but they simply don't realize it because they aren't having flashbacks of it. This being said [sp]I am not sure if the line made it in the final English version of the movie but in the trailer Xavier tells his past self "you're afraid, I remember" which heavily implies that he does start to remember stuff as things change[/sp]. Oh and [sp]they explain in the first minutes that Wolverine will remember everything, he'll be the only one to even know the time travel thing has happened at all, and that he'll have to catch up with his own past when he comes back.[/sp]
i really enjoyed this movie it's very good

'hey you know that guy i've been since 73? yeah i'm not him, i remember and experienced none of our friendship.'
So how did Xavier (Last Stand and Wolverine 2 spoilers) [sp]get his body back after being fucking exploded into microscopic particles in Last Stand?[/sp] They didn't explain anything in this one. My only disappointment with the movie.
He transferred his mind into his twin brother in X-Men III. Why he still needs the wheelchair, I don't know
Xavier has been stuck in a wheelchair for like fifty years, he probably doesn't even know how his legs work anymore and after that fairly long episode of his life shown in Days of Future Past where he was straight up addicted to what is clearly an analogy for heroine/morphine my guess is he wants to stay in that wheelchair if only for the symbolic value.
last stand didnt happen, Singer retconned it because it sucked and also he didn't make it
There were flashbacks to it though...
It seems that they can't make up their minds if they want to keep X-Men 3 as canon or not
well i recall reading that it was retconned
No it happened, but because of the time travel it isn't going to happen now. At least, that is what I think.
No it happened, but because of the time travel it isn't going to happen now. At least, that is what I think.
Didn't they say X-Men Apocalypse plays during the original timeline?
just a question. i never really liked the previous xmen movies, should i go watch this? it has really high praising reviews and i just wanted to know if it was really good. I also haven't watched the previous movie that takes place in the 1960s or whatever.

Also a reason why time travel is such a shakey thing to do in movies because of all the paradoxes and other bullshit that if you start to overthink it you will just give yourself a headache. Time travel isn't physically possible from what we know so they can't make everything solid when dealing with it so there will always be a bunch of questions when you look deep into it and they wont really ever get answered.
I get to see this movie and Godzilla in a double feature tomorrow! exciting stuff!
I just went on a trip like that with my college yesterday, we saw X-Men first [sp]which blew my expectations completely out the window because of how good it was and how messed up some of those death scenes were[/sp] and then we saw Godzilla straight afterwards. It was amazing!
Damn it, my Local theatre doesn't have any 2D showings of the movie, the heck.
Watched it today. Fucking fantastic, one of the best movies I have ever seen. [sp]I'm surprised with how gruesome the death scenes looked like. The future sentinels were eerie as fuck. I even think Jennifer Lawrence might get an Oscar nom for this And I almost jumped from my chair when the original cast appeared in the ending, I didn't expect to see Jean, Scott, Rogue and X3 Beast in there.[/sp] Also, Pietro to Magneto:[sp] "You can control metal, right? My mom once met a guy who could do that"[/sp] :v:
The nearest theatre to me showing X-men in 2D is 1.5 hours away. I really don't want to drive that far.
Really loved it Though, [sp]doesn't this make the first 3 movies like non-existent?[/sp]
Really loved it Though, [sp]doesn't this make the first 3 movies like non-existent?[/sp]
Probably. But [sp]Rogue's hair in the ending indicates that the events from X1 may have still happened.[/sp]
