Also at the end
[sp]For what Mystique wanted Logan at the end? At first I thought it was Stryker, but it was clearly Mystique, also is there anywhere I can watch the post-credits scene? I asked someone at the cinema if there were scenes but he said no[/sp]

[sp]Maybe she stuck around Stryker to make sure he didn't have weird shit planned and she prevented the whole Weapon X program from the get go by subduing him and saving Wolverine[/sp]
The end scene was [sp]a shot of Apocalypse building pyramids with telekinesis in some remote desert[/sp]. I don't think you can find good footage of it yet.
And while we're at it, let's try and establish a list of stuff that [sp]was changed with the new timeline at the end[/sp]
[sp]- Wolverine was never part of the Weapon X program, meaning Deadpool never existed in his known form.
- Technology is far more advanced due to mutants being allowed.
- Beast never joined the White House to make a point on mutants being able to politics.
- Xavier never transferred his mind to his braindead twin brother.
- Scott and all the other losers are still alive.
- Mystique is supposedly one of the good guys now.
- Sentinels were dumped and never bothered with.
- Magneto and Xavier were buddies, at least until the supposed events of the first movie.
- The first X-Men movie may still have happened considering Rogue's hair.
- Stryker accomplished nothing, or close to nothing, so X2 never happened.
- X3 never happened and Jean never resurrected into the phoenix.
- The Wolverine never happened for sure.
- Speaking of Rogue, was she wearing gloves ? Which brings up an interesting point : was Beast's weird serum eventually brought to all mutants ? It'd sound logical to me.[/sp]
This movie is shit for so many reasons...seriously what is the praise? The only good scene was the with that speedy dude

Good points there buddy

[sp]I'm pretty sure she could control her powers at some point in the comics so maybe they just sticked to it.[/sp]
Would have been sweet if they had kept in more future adventures. [Sp]I assume it'll be after Kitty loses so much blood that Magneto and Iceman decided to break Rogue out from prison to copy her powers. As shown in the first trailer[/sp]
the best part is that Xavier got a hover-round at the end
I saw this movie yesterday and I liked it
[sp]Quicksilver has some awesome scenes in this movie but he's really not in it much. Nice to hear the original theme back, too![/sp]
[sp]I can't get over how evil the Sentinels are in this. Near the end were one of them is lowering one of them into its face laser thing, and of course the part where they rip a guy in half - twice![/sp]
Loved this movie.
Does anyone know if [sp]X-Men: Apocalypse is going to star the First Class cast or the original cast?[/sp]
There were flashbacks to it though...
[sp]X2 and X3 didn't happen. Jean and Scott are alive. X1 did happen because Rogue still has white hair. Only Wolverine and Xavier will remember X2 and X3, Logan because he lived through it and Charles, because he went through Logan's memories. )"I don't want your pain." That's why he says "Welcome home, old friend; how much do you remember" [sic]. He didn't know if old Wolverine would survive coming back through.[/sp]
Mystique
[sp] There's nothing to indicate that Mystique is a good guy or Magneto even ever figured out he was barking up the wrong tree. Just because Trask lived doesn't mean Mystique went all lovey dovey. [/sp]
weapon X
[sp] Stryker may have been altered, that doesn't mean Dr. Cornelius and Hines still didn't go through with a mutant enhancement program, Woverine may still have metal stuff in him [/sp]
The nearest theatre to me showing X-men in 2D is 1.5 hours away. I really don't want to drive that far.
Do it.
DO EEEET.
[sp]first class[/sp]
but weren't they [sp] all vivisected? [/sp]
[sp] yes: Emma, Angel, Janos , Azazel, and Sean are shown vivisected, Havok and Toad are stuck in Stryker's prototype unit [/sp]
just got back from seeing it, what a great movie.
[sp]I really enjoyed that everyone had a somewhat relatable motivation and standpoint. Magneto controlling Sentinels with entwined Iron Girders was funny too. The future Sentinels were surprisingly brutal in their execution of the mutants, damn.[/sp]
Watched it today, great movie!
I did not know there was a [sp]post credit scene[/sp] so I [sp]left the theatre during the credits and missed it[/sp] :(

I don't know how people can still leave, to be on the safe side, just stay for every marvel movie.
And pretty much all marvel movie does it.
I missed [sp]the post credit scene[/sp] because I went with my college to see both X-Men and Godzilla and somehow managed to forget all about it because we were watching Godzilla straight after X-Men.
I can confirm that there isn't one for Godzilla though.

If you want to know what the scene is about: [sp]It shows a lot of people bowing to En Sabah Nur while he builds the egyptian pyramids with some sort of telekinesis. You can see 4 horsemen behind him.[/sp]
Would the next movie be set in the future or present?
Would the next movie be set in the future or present?
I think it's set in the 70s or 80s

At first I thought the [sp]he was a girl. [/sp]
I thought it was good, might watch it again when it comes out on demand.

I felt like yelling "But there's more to come!" when everyone left the screening, except me, my friend and a handful of other people.
I liked this movie, but... okay, this is gonna be a big post. I don't know if the following points may be seem as spoiler-y so I'll spoiler the ones that might be.
I feel like the movie's emotional side wasn't that strong, and it ended up being overshadowed by the clearly stronger action and character interaction moments. [sp]The movie tried to make us care about the mutants on the future, which we didn't spend enough time with to see them as more than just 'the guys making sure Logan is safe'. As for the mutants in the past, I'd argue that Beast played more of a sidekick role than anything else, because apart from his first scene, I can't remember a single scene where he did something that didn't include roaring and slashing.[/sp]
But where the movie had to work, it worked. [sp]The problem is that while it worked on showing us Wolverine and the First Class cast interacting and on displaying the relationship between Xavier-Magneto-Mystique equally, the former packed more of a punch than the latter, which felt more like support for the action scenes.[/sp]
And as much as the screenwriter says that they had planned for Quicksilver to be in the movie all along, I can't help but feel he's tacked on. [sp]Sure he has a cool scene, but after that? [Gone. Even in moments when he could have appeared, he didn't. It felt like there could have easily been another mutant doing that scene- I heard it was supposed to be the Juggernaut or something.[/sp]
In the end, it's a good comic book movie with memorable action and fun moments, but it doesn't strive to be anything more than that. [sp]It certainly felt to me like the only reason we kept cutting back to the group on the future was so we could see the effects of Wolverine's actions and confirm that yes, this is a semi-reboot.[/sp]
Captain America 2 managed to balance the action, the character moments and the emotional weight successfully, and I'd say that it's not unfair to compare the two, as DOFP had not two movies to build on (which Captain America had), but four-five if you count First Class. It's definitely an enjoyable flick and if you have a passing interest on the X-Men, go watch it. Just don't expect something entirely filling- but then again I'm not even sure if that's what this movie wants to be.
Also, as a side note, I feel like Fox is pretty close to stumbling onto the fact that the X-Men don't have a lot of memorable stories that don't include other characters. They've already used DOFP, God Loves Man Kills, Dark Phoenix Saga, [sp]and now Age of Apocalypse[/sp], so I feel like they're gonna have to scrape the barrel for some more obscure stories in order to use as basis for their movies. It doesn't help that not only have some of their choices in previous movies ruined the chances of certain storylines being used, this movie [sp]kills a bunch of important mutants like Azazel and Emma Frost and Banshee off screen. Which makes me wonder, if Azazel is dead... then who is Nightcrawler's dad?[/sp]
[sp] You can't really fault the characterization since they cut out about an hour and fifteen minutes, most of which was in the future [/sp]
As for running out of good stuff, that's the nature of the format and the business.

Wow, that much? Jesus.
My problem is not with running out of good stuff- X-Men has a lot of that- my problem is how a lot of X-Men stories rely on interaction with characters that Fox doesn't have access to, which leads me to fear they'll try to have X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover, and those are the two most thematically different franchises I can think of. There's gonna be a point, it might be on this decade or the next, where Fox will hit a wall and will have to be quick on their feet or risk losing the rights.
So wait if the next movie is set during the 80s
and Wolverine [sp] Went back to 2023? then that means we already know they beat apocalypse, but we didn't see Magneto in the new future so he could die. [/sp]
How nice, while Apocalypse features the First Class cast, some of the original cast members will be involved too
I really want to see a movie that takes place in the DOFP future [sp]before Wolverine fixes it. I want to see the first days of the sentinels, the resistance, them turning on non-mutants. They could have done this story in 2 or 3 movies I think[/sp]
