I think they did a quite poor job when it came to Beast's action scenes. The wire work was so obvious it made his jumps look very unnatural.
I think they did a quite poor job when it came to Beast's action scenes. The wire work was so obvious it made his jumps look very unnatural.
honestly, every thing about beast was bad, not just the action. They essentially turned him into the Hulk with the way he'd transform into Beast form seemingly at will or when he's provoked. It was so stupid. They also altered his appearance a bit from his look in "First Class". Even though the new appearance is perhaps more accurate to what he looked like in "The Last Stand", i personally did not like it as much as the first class incarnation: [t]http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140118194109/marvelmovies/images/7/7b/BeastPromo3-XMFC.jpg[/t] was also a possible plot hole regarding him that pissed me off: [sp]the scene when wolverine arrives at the school, he comments that hank was "strong" and is shown forcibly keeping wolverine from entering through the door... yet at the time, he was in human form (under the effects of the serum) and therefor would not of had his Beast strength power active.[/sp]
First Class Beast looks like Beast. New beast looks like blue man with questionable styling.
yet at the time, he was in human form (under the effects of the serum) and therefor would not of had his Beast strength power active.[/sp]
which is why logan was able to push him away. he retained a bit of the strength, but not much. basically as strong as a well trained dude.
just saw this yesterday. only previous x-men movie i've seen was First Class, which i enjoyed quite a bit. i actually really liked this, too. one of the best superhero movies i've seen in a while. i'm probably going to go back and watch the first few x-men movies too, just to catch up. still, one thing that really bothered me was that apparently no one in the government thinks mutants are a legitimate threat despite having locked up magneto for [sp]purportedly killing the fucking president.[/sp]
Was that the X-Men theme tacked onto the end of the 20th Century Fox theme before the movie starts?
i'm probably going to go back and watch the first few x-men movies too, just to catch up.
not much to catch up with now, since almost everything [sp]was retconned[/sp]
Was that the X-Men theme tacked onto the end of the 20th Century Fox theme before the movie starts?
If you mean the movie themes from the original trilogy then yes, they're in there at the beginning and credits. (I wasn't really paying attention to the score during the movie, though I did detect an annoying lack of themes from First Class.)
Yeah, that theme was first used in X2 where composer John Ottman returns for this movie as well. Was feeling rather nostalgic when I heard it in the cinema
This movie was fantastic. Quicksilver was a delightful surprise, as briefly seen as he was. [sp]Kind of disappointed that they killed off the First Class gang, too.[/sp] [sp]Magneto's speech at the end has me hoping that the next film has Genosha to some capacity[/sp] It really felt like they put a lot of care and effort into the story to give the old cast a proper and satisfying good bye.
which is why logan was able to push him away. he retained a bit of the strength, but not much. basically as strong as a well trained dude.
There's no reason to believe he'd retain any strength. The serum completely (magically) removes all mutant effects [sp](hence the sentinel at the end no longer targets him after he injects himself)[/sp] There's also no reason to believe he's a "well trained dude" since he's primarily a scientist and also since the school's been inactive for a while meaning he'd be doing zero training. So nice try, but you're wrong. It's a plot hole. Wolverine should of had no trouble at all pushing the door open.
[sp](hence the sentinel at the end no longer targets him after he injects himself)[/sp]
except that scene [sp]specifically showed him sticking like 3 needles in his leg[/sp]
This theme should be adapted for this series. Sounds like childhood. Cyclops gets Comic Sans. Nobody who adapts the comics likes Cyclops.
except that scene [sp]specifically showed him sticking like 3 needles in his leg[/sp]
To me that part just looked like an obviously desperate move to have it work as quickly as possible. But I suppose we can create some goofy head cannon that... amount of serum = amount mutant power suppressed.. if it will make people feel better.
not much to catch up with now, since almost everything [sp]was retconned[/sp]
well, yeah, but i feel like i never watched the x-men movies out of a lack of interest in the characters. now i want to give them a chance considering how much i enjoyed First Class and this.
Just came back from this movie. I really liked it, it was a total blast! However, I didn't like the tiny fact that [sp] they basically deleted almost all movies, except for first class, from existance [/sp] By the way, have just noticed
The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their team-mate Kitty Pryde, whose mind travelled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men.
So they basically remade the entire script? Wow.
So they basically remade the entire script? Wow.
Uh, thats the comic its based off of.
If you mean the movie themes from the original trilogy then yes, they're in there at the beginning and credits. (I wasn't really paying attention to the score during the movie, though I did detect an annoying lack of themes from First Class.)
No, I mean the last few seconds of the 20th Century Fox logo had part of the theme.
No, I mean the last few seconds of the 20th Century Fox logo had part of the theme.
Yes, the entire thing except the X goes black and a few seconds of the theme plays.
Yes, the entire thing except the X goes black and a few seconds of the theme plays.
i don't remember the screen going black, i just heard the theme do that wonky shit at the end still, nothing beats the Alien 3 fanfare mix
No, I mean the last few seconds of the 20th Century Fox logo had part of the theme.
Yeah it did. I love it when studio titles get played with.
I really liked it, it was a total blast! However, I didn't like the tiny fact that [sp] they basically deleted almost all movies, except for first class, from existance [/sp]
I'd say [sp]that it's not so much that the other films didn't happen at all, they just didn't happen as we saw them. The timeline that now exists has several 'corrections' compared to the last. Notably, Jean and Scott surviving and Rogue and Bobby getting together (possibly even Kitty and Colossus hooking up). So, things like Stryker attacking the Institute did happen, but in the end, Jean never sacrificed herself to become Dark Phoenix. So really, it mostly negates X-Men: The Last Stand.[/sp] Oh, and they likely have just ignored the existence of Wolverine: Origins.
i don't think it was posted already but here's what seems to be a complete timeline of the x-men films http://imgur.com/a/B2M1n note: this includes DOFP
