what am i getting myself into
Its actually a pretty interesting theory. Though it does get into the realm of ridiculous.
Why has Pixar, a company of incredibly high standards, continued to make these movies?
This guy sums up pretty much Pixar's situation atm.
i've never seen a cars film hell even when i was like a kid and cars shoulda been a big thing for me i didn't care
He loses, gets wrecked, and goes into a deep depression. Fast forward some years and he ends up training the kid of that green car from the first one. Cars 3: Creed [editline]21st November 2016[/editline] ?
let me dream in peace dammit!
Unlike most people, I actually though that Cars 1 was a good Pixar film, but they have no clue what they were doing with Cars 2 and evidently they don't in this case either. Cars 1 was similar to other Pixar movies in that they actually tried to tell a story somewhat unique to Cars (about slowing down/etc), but Cars 2 was just too bizarre, schizophrenic, and slapstick, and now we are going into a total 180 to a dark tone.
This guy sums up pretty much Pixar's situation atm.
Post-Wall-E Pixar?
It's alright, i never wanted to see The Incredibles 2 anyway, right?
The Incredibles 2 is still happening and is set to premiere in 2018. And apparently this tonal shift in Cars 3 is because of a change in director.
Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage! Cars 3 is directed by Brian Fee (storyboard artist “Cars,” “Cars 2“) and produced by Kevin Reher (“A Bug’s Life,” “La Luna” short).
[x]
plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet
Ghost Paul Newman?
People telling you what is okay for you to like is pretentious as fuck.
If you let a reviewer change your point of view on things, then it's not pretentious shit, you're just easy to manipulate.
I think I've already seen this as a parody video before. I will admit it's got me curious.
Lmao when he did that fuckin flip and the slow-mo happened, this instantly popped into my head
People telling you what is okay for you to like is pretentious as fuck.
he's not telling you what to like tho instead he's explaining that pixar's changed from wanting to be creative to wanting to sell merchandise and make money which all things considered isn't far from the truth even with their new films that aren't sequels.
Is that the trailer for planes 3: crash & burn
Imagine Planes 3 dealing with the in-universe equivalent of 9/11.
he's not telling you what to like tho instead he's explaining that pixar's changed from wanting to be creative to wanting to sell merchandise and make money which all things considered isn't far from the truth even with their new films that aren't sequels.
This pretty much. Chris Sanders illustrated a small story about a bear to sort of talk about the issues that Disney was having back in the nineties and the same can probably be said for Pixar at this point. http://thebigbearaircraftcompany.blogspot.com/ I really recommend reading the whole little comic/story.
Could be good, you never know. Ill probably watch it, wait till its out before you slam it.
wait till its out before you slam it.
It's justified and as a person that enjoyed Cars 1, Cars 2 was just pointless and meh. It's a new director sure but i'm not gonna get my hopes up or anything.
What the fuck pixar, gimmie something new. Not this dumb car movie again. I'd rather see this than that dumb KACHOW bullshit again.
If you let a reviewer change your point of view on things, then it's not pretentious shit, you're just easy to manipulate.
uuh, no? That's not what reviews are for. They inform you of the product and give critique on its pros and cons. That information can change your point of view from what you've seen of the product before. There's nothing manipulative about it.
I wonder if they chose a change in cinematography, because the original target audience has grown older. Cars 1 was released in 2006 (ten years ago, JFC). If a kid was 3 or 4 years old at the time, they would want to watch something "edgier" by age 13 or 14; so this type of cinematography would appeal to both that and the audience's nostalgia. If this trailer's style is actually representative of the movie, that is.
If you let a reviewer change your point of view on things, then it's not pretentious shit, you're just easy to manipulate.
I never changed my point of view [editline]22nd November 2016[/editline]
he's not telling you what to like tho.
The first words you hear upon clicking that link is "There's nothing really wrong about liking Toy Story 3, but..." As if he is an authority on what you can and can't like Can't say that isn't pretentious
Oh, great. One of my most hated Pixar movies, back in third form.
"Hey guys, we've gotta make people feel heart wrenching attachment to <insert movie that was originally light-hearted and comedic>! What should we do?" "We gotta show them that <fun family film> isn't your ordinary <superhero/cartoon/children's movie> any more!" "I know! We gotta break out the big guns!" "You don't mean..." "That's right! COLOR GRADING!"
Oh, great. One of my most hated Pixar movies, back in third form.
I didn't mind the first movie, but anything after was pointless. This is unworthy of being one of the few Pixar franchises to get a whole trilogy.
i hope it's exactly the same as Cars 2 but with faded colours and dramatic music
