You wouldn't publish a 15 minute video with sources like these without considerable internal discussion. The know is spread out across both rooster teeth offices. You can't really say that it's only Funhaus when 'The Know' is really a shared platform between several employees of rooster teeth, most of who have other roles within the company. But honestly, with shit like this, you blame the company/group for making the decision to trust what is a shady source.
No you blame Funhaus since they're the ones who did the video
How can they know HL3 is never coming out? Maybe Gabe's grand child becomes a world renowned video games developer who, after two generations, brings HL3 to the future audiences, long-bored by the endless sequels to Assassin's Dudes, Call of Dudes and Battledudes.
they have to make the half life prequels first.
There's really no argument for selfie-sticks. Do you buy selfie-sticks? Or do you move on with life and put your money towards things you actually want? You're saying because someone can sell a shitty sword, someone else can't use the exact same service to sell something great. How about don't buy the sword, and give the money to someone who deserves it?
There's just too many things that can go wrong with a mandatory pay wall, turning the mod community into the indie community would set the gaming community against it. When paid mods were announced mod makers were getting death threats, its a bad idea. It would destroy the PC gaming community.
found this in valves handbook
There’s no red tape stopping you from figuring out for yourself what our customers want, and then giving it to them.
seems kind of ironic
I didn't think about this yesterday, but they do mention that they have a "source" (lol) that says they have finished the script events log, etc., but just have a few people working on it. I don't know about you guys but that sounds an awful lot like they are working on HL3. just forward to 37 seconds in the vidya

i'm sure i will get criticized for saying this, but who doesn't?: valve is very unique. it's employees work on what they want. with this, valve might not function well if they were forced to do things. valve's games never disappointed. this is because if devs are given the opportunity to work on what they want when they want, they can create something amazing. they put their heart and passion towards their work because they WANTED to and they were OFFERED the choice, not forced. for example, with EA, the devs are forced to work on the games that are chosen for them. what was the result? a broken, shitty, messy game. even if you have a valid point about how valve should not work this way and force a different method of the way they work, they will not perform as well. why? because they've been working this way for years. and considering the enormous amount of hype surrounding the game, perfection is an important factor. and even then, gamers will criticize it because they CAN. example:
"Half-Life 3 isn't released yet? What a bunch of losers!" *Half-Life 3 released* "Valve just now released Half-Life 3? Took long enough you bunch of losers!"
It's sad when I'm more hyped for the engine than the game itself
I'm not saying that Valve aren't do anything at all.
Do you read what you write?
Valve really hasn't done all much that is great in the past several years with any real focus other than maintaining their money machine DOTA/Steam.
I just explained to you how you're absolutely wrong in saying "they don't do much anymore" and that they're not just converting players into cash cows with updating games. It's really weird that continued care and additional content for a game is perceived as bad. Especially when you say that "every company does it", when in reality Valve's one of the first people to really emphasize doing shit for your older games, what with TF2 and all. I've yet to see other companies go as far as Valve has gone with TF2 and CS:GO.
:clickbait:
It's sad when I'm more hyped for the engine than the game itself
I don't think that's sad at all. Source 2 sounds fucking awesome. I like messing with the developer tools for Source 1, so Source 2 should theoretically remedy the issues with the last engine and be even better.
