i believe this is fairly accurate
As long as pony fags don't rub it in my face.
This is the best source for information ever
I love how they show the /b/ guys as a bunch of little kids.
100% accurate. Ahh, yes. I'm totally wrong. It's not like I'm a... brony or something. :downs:
Actually... that is what happened.
Out of all involved, the Taiwanese managed to sum it up in the fastest, albeit strangest way.
They forgot the part where the woman on the motorcycle was actually a man, too.
was that the hl2 rpg
they forgot to make the ponyfags obese manchildren
Owls are way fucking better anyway.

As has been said before, the reason MLP is so popular is because it actually has someone who knows something about animation behind it. The best cartoons are the ones that don't limit their audience to one target, and it shows a huge success from the creators that it became so popular with people who aren't little girls. It's not because its a fetish thing, it's not because the people who watch it are manchildren, it's simply a well done and enjoyable show. That being said There are of course the people who obsess over it like it's the best thing since sliced bread. There are the people who look at porn of it. There are the people who fantasize about being a pony. But everything has people like that. Pokemon, Homestuck, Deathnote, all of them will have the creeps. And any normal fan will hate these creeps with almost as much of a passion as people who hate the show. Point of the story, blame the freaks who actually want to have sex with ponies, but don't blame people who enjoy a show simply because you think it is "just for girls". As for the video, hilarious.
WHY ARE SO MANY PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT MY LITTLE PONY Why is this a fucking issue that people type with their fingers about how does this work
WHY ARE SO MANY PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT MY LITTLE PONY Why is this a fucking issue that people type with their fingers about how does this work
Because people like to make a big deal out of stuff that is otherwise totally trivial and refuse to let it go.
I can't stop laughing.
WHY ARE SO MANY PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT MY LITTLE PONY Why is this a fucking issue that people type with their fingers about how does this work
it's because Stephen Colbert gave it the Colbert Bump

All news should be shown as this.
"Well-written and beautifully animated" I don't think MLP is any better written/animated than any other children's cartoon. It's the same exact phenomenon with anime series attracting male viewers due to the cuteness/sexuality.

I'm a huge fan of all animation and if MLP truly is "beautifully animated" I wonder if I can truly ignore it anymore. My stance is that I don't really want to associate with bronys since a lot are perverts. And while some take a hard stance against the fact that not all of them are perverts I still don't want to deal with the community because a lot of them are assholes about it. While some do take it in stride and try to be the better man finding the ones who are truly intellectuals is harder than the video portrays. In the end I think I would really enjoy people who like the show, but don't associate themselves as a brony since that term is creepy as hell.
In the end I think I would really enjoy people who like the show, but don't associate themselves as a brony since that term is creepy as hell.
This is the exact position I was in when I heard of the new show, I'm also big on animation and all things related, and I heard of the praise the show received for it's animation quality. In the end, I just bit the bullet and watched a few, and I've got to say, it is indeed very well done, better than a lot of other animation I've seen in quite a while in fact. I must also admit I could see the appeal that can drive others to become a "brony" and become a larger fan. My personal favourite cartoon is Foster's home, and this was dangerously close to being extremely similar. but I just enjoyed the animation in the few I watched. I wouldn't consider myself a "brony" and I wouldn't really consider myself a massive fan of the franchise as a whole (There are goddamn unicorns going on magical friendship adventures for christ's sake) I've watched stranger things for the animation I can tell you.
Original Scooby Doo > MLP faggorty.
Now you see this argument isn't entirely correct. MLP is animated in flash, and uses all of the features and freedom that allows, complete with an entire team of modern animators. Scooby doo is infamously created by Hannah barbara many years ago, who I shouldn't need to mention is famous for an age of extremely minimalist animation. For example, the ever-recognizable "Wheel legs" when characters run, or the repeating backgrounds. Comparing the shows on an art level is entirely moot. Scooby doo is a great show regardless. Comparing the shows on a writing level is where it starts to become hard to argue for. It depends on what makes writing "good", which is of course, entirely subjective. In books for example, people will argue that Twilight is a good novel, whilst others wish to burn it. This sort of perspective can also be applied to the art, some may actually like the minimalist approach (Some say that the less on screen means more is left to the viewers imagination, which is perfectly understandable) In the end it's all dependent on opinion.
I find it odd that this is being argued at all, they are all grown men (in the slimmest sense of the word) watching a children cartoon intended for little girls. that's the fact of the matter. It's weird and I find it sad. artistic merit or not it's just plain fucking creepy.

A lot of the fans have said that it is intended for girls, but the way it is written makes it enjoyable for everyone. I liken this to how Pixar creates their movies to be enjoyable not just for their target audience of kids, but also for all the adults who went to see Toy Story 3. This of course is a huge cop out because when it boils down, especially aesthetically, it is a cartoon for little girls. Tough I'd like to say that I did enjoy the Powerpuff Girls as a kid and I think it was definately a show good for both genders. Even if it portrayed girl characters it was also about them beating the shit out of bad guys and giant monsters.
